SparklyWolf AJ There are 2 different versions, one with lots of 3rd Party Addware and one with less clutter... If you scan camstudio with Malwarebytes Antimalware it gives you big time alerts !

hey guys guess What??? Cam Studio is a freaking virus. I spent the entire day getting rid of it. No joke. So dont get cam studio. Unless of course, you like viruses for some reason. Hope this helped.

playing on macs is fine if you can't get a PC yet. I'm actually playing on mac and looking for a cheap enough option for PC, (Due to me having over 80 games on PC and 40 of those playable on mac.) I do think it's a downside that I can't play current AAA releases but it's good to know I can play for the moment on my mac. :)

I am about to get Camstudio but I am sooo confused. People are saying it's malware but others are saying it's not. Is it to do with which windows version you have? I've got 10? Is Camstudio malware on that? Someone please help.

Hello may i ask you sth . i had screen recorded the imac screen (by camtasia2018) i choose the 1080hd and cutom 300kb/sec(for the smaller file) but the video is still larged (the video is 1hr but file was 1gb) ……………………… and i dont want to go down to 200kb/sec because the text on my screen cant be read (it will not hd 😢) .......
However when i used windows10 on another notebook the file is 200mb/hr ....
all of that i want toask you that
1. does it mean mac OS take more storage than windows when screen recording..??.
2. If answer in question1 is not ; does it has the other programs to record for small file on mac but the video is still hd .
Hi Derral, what screencasting software do you personally use? I hope I'm terming that correctly. I need the ability to record both webcam and screen simultaneously at the same time. Plus maybe would also like some additional features like adding images or captions easily. I use a Windows pc, what do you recommend?

I've used a software called screencast. Moved away from it since uploading from phone.

In my opinion, Camtasia is the best Screen Recorder & Video Editing software period. You can't find anything better.
iOS 11 Screen Recorder is a new one, released last year for Apple devices. I have it on my iPhone. The video comes out clean, crisp and clear. The sound is great. Unfortunately, there are 2 issues that Apple need to resolve which I posted in my channel this morning. I have been using this app. These issues are not a big deal because I have a Video Editing software. It would have save time though on editing if these problems are fixed. Once these issues are fixed, this would be a great portable screen recorder.
Personally I prefer to use NVIDIA ShadowPlay. Literally no impact on performance even while recording on highest bitrate and 60 FPS, amazing quality and totally free. Comes with GeForce Experience on NVIDIA GPUs only and it lacks features for live streaming

***** It isn't free but you CAN get a free trial to see if you like it. It just has the watermark. It DOES have a ton of options, so you need to really go through them all to be sure you have it the way you want (microphone on/off; record webcam at the same time; make an audio file, etc. etc. etc.) We've been using it for about a year with no issues. The commercial version is $50 - not bad at all. I use it to record voiceovers only, sometimes, too. :)

Dennis Sphatt You're going based off of ratings on Virus Total. VT is great for scanning data, but I would not recommend it for a rating platform. That is 3 people versus 5. A great deal of people that consider themselves _tech savvy_ are far from it. People often misidentify things, or in other words a false positive. I highly suggest going elsewhere for ratings and reviews.
People that have issues with malware with CamStudio are *not* tech savvy. How can I make that claim? Well, a tech savvy person does not obtain content from untrusted sources.
CamStudio is open-source, anyone with the know how could check the code, modify it, and compile it.

Thanks for the vid - just downloaded and used the Open Broadcaster Software on Windows and it was pretty easy to use immediately. I was able to grab some video for a how to get free products off of Amazon video I'm making so thanks!
OBS is crap.. when I try to record it is zoomed in.. and changing the resolution doesn't fix it.
+hot2go2 When i used OBS: I pressed record was waiting, then i switched over to my browser what was captured and it looks fine. I played for almost 5 min. Pressed Stop. I looked at my video and only recorded 26 seconds. After that i tried again and then OBS recorded 8 seconds... wth is going on with this program. My friend has the same laptop with this program. Same settings. And OBS works fine on his laptop....

dsadad21 Well i bought it really cheap long time ago, wasnt even called filmora, its 49.99, its really cheap if you compare it with camtasia, i really liked the speed up options in video specially for editing videos of tutorials in speed paintings. It has tons of features, you should try the trial.

I'm planning my future channel about photography teaching and there's a question to which I can't seem to find a sure answer.
What is the right way use of recording a screencast of editing software UI?
I want to create tutorials for example of step-by-step editing or to screencast just to show examples of stuff from my own screen. It seems to be a grey area, wether it's ok or not to feature the UI of the software in the videos. I mostly use Adobe software, I have a teacher's license, when I tried to contact them about it they redirect me to ask from their forums but I don't get an official answer.
Do you have any advice?

Great video....I'm just getting started with this so I'm looking for advice. What I'm looking for is the best software and hardware to get started without spending a fortune. I need a good screen recorder for both live streaming on UA-cam with tutorials and video editing software to create and edit timelaps videos of my digital paintings. Derral Eves Its not that good. Cant edit audio between Game and Mic have to end up using Audacity and has saving issues. It is also still in Beta stages
SimplyTheBaron There's good and bad points with the software, but its free and piggy backs so the FPS hit is minimal, and works with twitch so for gamers its a great free option if you have a NVidia gpu. as for the saving issues that was back in the early stages, I have no issues and record all my videos with it

Canadian sucks for gaming!! it can't record full screen gameplay! it's good if you want to record custom screen! I would not spend 299$, get free trial and when that expires there's a way to extend trail for few more days...

The problem with the free trial is that when you got to publish you find out that the video you worked so hard on will appear with a big watermark saying you produced with a trial version! Would be nice if they tell you that at the outset (maybe in fine print but that's sneaky); instead it's like blackmail because you have to upgrade and pay $299 if you want to actually publish your video.
No, i've never experienced that...I do edit videos on Camtasia. My free trial has expired already but i have figured out a way to get in easily without having to pay for it!!

I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but I've had issues with various recording software (e.g. Camstudio) when using multiple monitors. It appears as if I'm recording a specific window on a specific monitor, but when it plays back, it only shows a corner of my desired window. Is there any free/open source recording software that works when connected to multiple monitors? (I run four monitors)

What are the advantages between CyberLink PowerDirector and Screenflow? I am wondering if CyberLink PowerDirector allows you to record yourself while recording the screen and if the file sizes are smaller than Screenflow? Cyberlink is cheaper and has lots of good reviews.
So, I'm wanting to start a Gaming YT channel. Now, my computer isn't the best one, it runs at a steady 35-40 FPS, but it works. Everyone on the comment section says that obs is bad because it is black screen... Why do you not do a small research for obs before using it? you only have to put in the scenes that you want to record. search about the scenes you need to put in with the thing you want to record

Screen Flow is always my favorite but since my Mac 15" is dead. I have to switch to Windows Laptop for a while until I can get a new Mac. I have not found any software matching it yet. Camtasia is close but a bit messy layout.

i use Filmora. i think it was less than $50 for 1 computer. you can record from 12 to 60 fps and output 12 to 120 fps and can render in 4K if you want. plus it's a full editing suite with transitions, elements, after effects and a file converter

I am using snapz pro for taking a screen shot or recording a video from utube so I can look at it and follow the direction at my own pace. It only records the voices on the recording and not any background noice that you are making. Since I updated my mac the high sierra, it no longer works. Is there anything else that I can purchase that will not the same thing? Hopefully, without a high price. Thanks!!
OBS, I must say, is the best software I have tried. Between Fraps and OBS, OBS can put up with my 60 fps. through League of Legends and Steam games such as Payday 2, Fallout 4, Far Cry 3, Portal 2, Shadow of Mordor. Absolutely everything I ever needed as a beginning streaming on twitch and UA-cam and I would HIGHLY recommend this for anyone trying to stream. One down side for OBS is the tutorial for configuring the settings, however, a quick visit on UA-cam was my solution to everything I needed to know about OBS in terms of how to do things.

I've been watching "How to build a PC" videos lately and noticed that as soon as they finished their build, they even screen record their from booting up their computer to their BIOS setting!!! Hey thanks a lot Derral. Just a little note to everyone out there. The reason why the Mac is the most powerful computer out there is a Mac runs all of the operating systems. Windows, Linux, Unix & Mac. To run Windows of course you have to buy the operating system from Microsoft and install it. So if you want the best of computer worlds you want to have a MacIntosh computer.
I purchased my 27" 2010 iMac computer used. Thats if like me your a cheap-o-la.
