Every time I hear the song I think of the spirit of the Covey, mainly Lucy Gray. They all eventually died out but their spirit was reincarnated in Katniss’ father, then passed to her. It took 65 years but Katniss was their embodiment, along with Sejanus coming for their revenge.
This is song is definitely more “folk” because in the film / book, there is a lot of folk and Appalachian inspired music and it’s PERFECT for the movie!
actually she has written for a movie before under her pseudonym “lyndie lane” ( the disney film with joshua bassett lmao) but obviously nothing as big as the hunger games franchise 😂
