Good review, but I must point out that you failed to mention anything about the off-road capabilities of this vehicle....Most notably, the 4-wheel drive, handling in snow and mud, wet conditions, and the overall capabilities of severe weather conditions. Tahoe is known for its ability to tackle some of the most rugged terrain.... That's another reason people buy this vehicle, not just for towing/hauling.
I have a loaded 2013 Tahoe Ltz heavy duty package. Went to test drive 2021 Tahoe and left without buying, jst a huge smile on my face that mine is better in every single way plus it’s payed off and not costing me 70k
IDK, I didn't buy this to feel like I'm king of the road. I bought it to feel safe on the road with my family. Also, this SUV is great for traveling with young children and all the stuff we need to lug along for them as well as our 2 dogs in tow. :/ Happy with our 2013 Tahoe.
iRotiz the bigger danger are the other vehicles/crazy drivers around you. so what happens when a Large truck hits a Fiat? yeah, i'll stick with the bigger vehicle
here in 2022, they are still around. i have a 2014 ltz loaded for the time period. todays large suvs are either priced in the 80s and up for a nice one...this suv fills a nich. big safe , nice ride, leather, towing. all good
I grew up with a Suburban, and my first car was a Volvo XC90. I drove that for a long time before it became an unreliable pos. I started driving my Suburban again, and after going from the Chevy to the Volvo and back to the Chevy again, you realise how much more comfortable, reliable, practical, powerful, etc the Chevy actually is even with its MPG and size. I feel most people think that the Suburban or Tahoe is too big for them but the truth is that after a few weeks of driving it, parking lots, parallel parking space, cities, etc are never a noticeable challenge. One thing I love about my Suburban is the size and aggressive nature of it since it is basically a truck. I am from Alaska, and in the summer our population basically doubles due to tourists. Our roads clog up, and many people who don’t understand our driving culture will create the jams. I am by no means an aggressive driver all the time, but considering my commute is an hour and a half, having a giant Suburban (nothing was modified, that just how great it was) roaring up the rental Malibu’s ass on the highway at 80 MPH is a huge plus. They just move out of the way 😂😂. Often to avoid aggression I realise they will actually signal much sooner to get you to back off and show you that they will move for you lol. My Suburban - which keep in mind was given to me when I sold my Volvo and was my childhood car belonging to my mom - has reached over 500k miles, so I’m looking to replace it with a Tahoe/Yukon, hence why I’m watching this video, I can’t afford a new one haha, I’m starting out! They are also great for this weather!
the only Flaw on this Generation Tahoe is the Interior quality, the plastics are just bad and that's not hate it's a fact. in these years it was common for the dashes to crack horrendously and it was a widespread problem. everything else about this truck is great. they're not potently fast but they're quick enough and they're pretty quiet on the road and ride pretty good id take one. and in my opinion the styling on these looks better than the new ones.
5.3 sounds awesome! It is indeed soft on acceleration and rode awesome I drove a yukon xl and this driving portion of the video pretty much described my experience to the tee
I just paid cash for a 07 tahoe LTZ , I had to put about $1,600 into it ,tires ,new rotors headlights ,,sensors ,,,,runs fantastic all in under $5k Very happy with it runs great ,
Thanks Brooks, we must say the current Tahoe still drives nice despite its age. The redesigned model should address most of our concerns with the older models. What kind of MPG do you guys average? Are you able to meet the EPA estimates?
Tahoes are actually probably one of my favorite products from GM..All lot of my friends' families owned these and the ride was so comfortable and were perfect for long trips. In fact one of them owned one a 1996 for 16 years
2theredline on the other hand is a hands on review they go over the most important things without dragging to a very long video, personal opinions are given and youll notice thats when people start bitching, they pretty much tell it how it is so i dont take offense to it, like how they keep it real. And thats the main appeal to me. Yeah they have been critical with cars i like and its blunt to a fault but i dont get butthurt about it and start spewing shit.
I have a 2002 z71 suburban as a second vehicle and I love it. I can't wait until I can upgrade to a 2010+ one. But I am sick of people saying how I don't need it. People whine about how people don't NEED these full size, v8 SUVs. It's not about what I need. Its about what I WANT. Do people need luxury cars? Do people need sports cars? No. So get off your soapbox. Nice review though! They look good in white.
Gotta say I was impressed by your review Sofyan. After 10k miles on our 2013 Z71, we've been happy. We actually love the third row arrangement, with its ability to flip and fold in different configurations. In fact, we prefer it over the flush fold in other vehicles.
I LOVE MY 2010 TAHOE 4X4 LT3.. GREAT JUST BROUGHT IT LOW MILES.. TRADED MY NEW CAR FOR IT.. CARS PAST 2014 ARE JUNK.. MY 2018 WAS COOL BUT LONG TERM WAS GONNA BE EXPENSIVE TO FIX..
You would hate to ride with me Sofyan. We went from a Ford Escort wagon to a Tahoe and after 8 years, it has surprised me as to how nimble it is for a gigantic land tank, and how easy it is to cruise on the highway. As for the steering wheel, if you think that's thin, you should have seen the generation before this (that's what we have). My brother found out that if you cross your legs, you can fit in the 3rd row better also. ;)
Yes actually! Don't forget we have the 2wd version, so less weight. 17.1 is the average. Not too shabby. My hope is that GM moves the infotainment center to the top of the center console as in the Silverado.
Keep up the great work. The way you review cars is perfect. The information you give of each model, is what the regular guy is looking for. I like how you review each model pretty much the same. It's perfect if you in the market for either model. Therefore I can see how they compare with each other. One of he best out there. Keep up the great work.
I really like these large people movers personally. I do wish GM would use more softer dash and side panel materials rather than the hard clanky plastics they currently use. Possibly a supercharger on this motor standard would be nice. All in all I still like the this tank.
I own a 2013 Tahoe Z71. It looks almost identical to the one in this video except it has a chrome grill, bowtie logos are regular gold color, and the interior is the grey/beige. That said, some interesting things I noticed was that mine does have grab handles in the front. A couple of my common passengers wouldn't be able to get in without them. Surprised the one in this video didn't. Another odd thing I noticed about mine is that the battery is relocated to the "extra" battery spot. Haven't figured out why yet.
I prefer the GMC Yukon but omg, the newer generation Yukon Denali is soooooooooo cool looking. It's a wonderful refresh. And I'm telling you, that car looks sexy. Check it out on gmc's website
Ford Expedition: 5.4 liter v8, 310hp and 365 lb ft of torque. Best in class towing; 0-60 in 7.5-8 seconds. Chevy Tahoe: 5.3 liter v8, 320hp and 335 lb ft of torque. 5% better fuel economy, 0-60 in 8-9 seconds. I'll take the expedition.
No remote start? My grandfather has that exact Tahoe in red and he has remote start. Pretty sure the Tahoe's and suburbans were some of the first vehicles to get remote start as an option from the factory. Might wanna do your research before you throw around stuff like that bud.
their is never going to be a perfect car, just face it. i understand its his opinion, but he puts EVERY car down, but when he reviewed his own Volkswagen Golf its was just the best frickin car ever
"It makes a pretty nice sound." The guy seems shocked. Forced to drive little rice burners," the car (truck) has a much different feel to what I'm used to driving." Big V8 and silky smooth transmission can't be beat. It is truly a shame to what most consumers are forced to drive these days (econo-boxes) with gas prices hovering around $3.50-$4.00 a gallon. It is nice to actually have your own space in a vehicle without feeling like your passengers are sitting on top of you.
It was a good truck back in 07 but they are seriously outdated now. They are roomy and fairly reliable with the vortec V8 but still.. Anyways the new generation is right around the corner and with how much GM has been improving lately (14 impala, corvette, ect) I hope the next generation tahoe fixes that cracking dash problem.
Old school motor but sounds smoother and more refined then even Toyota's 5.7 GM sould have been just a engine manufacturer. Everything else is dated cookie cutter nonsense, with all that money you'd think they'd spend it on good quality and ideas, this thing was redesigned and still has a solid axle and tight 3rd row, talk about GM arrogance. Even Toyota's are going that route too, look at the dated overly priced full sized SUV not named Landcruiser. Too bad noone who really wants to make a difference in this segment other then Ford's late efforts, is stepping up the antie.
First of all, even Jeremy Clarkson would've like this all American truck better. I'm sorry but u were reviewing this truck as if u are reviewing a Lamborghini Sesto Elemento and complaining that it's not built for off road use. Has it occurred to you that some ppl want a good platform for a big off road vehicle ?, thankfully some are still made with solid axles, at least in the back, and customizable !!!, and don't have 4 wheel independent suspension with 6,7cm of suspension travel and a hoard of software making it go faster on the Nürburg ring than some sports cars. want one of those ? get yourself a Range Rover, Porsche Cayenne, BMW X6, make your pick, American car makers shouldn't try to follow Europeans in SUV land, they'd simply never match them, people will always prefer to buy the better vehicle, let them make TRUCKS. Today's trucks are already too bound by software, luckily still by-passable to make a great truck, however when u have hardware made like European SUVs, software will never make it good. Nobody's forcing one to buy a crossover ... yet, thankfully, so just leave trucks to those who need and love them I HAVE witnessed an acquaintance go completely MENTAL, mmMAAAAD at her brand new Range Rover Sport for continuously trying to "sort things out" for her even with Terrain response properly "disabled", utterly ruining our day, finally, reached in the engine fuse box and took off fuse 21 powering DSC and ABS, restraining this SUV from taking further bad decisions all on it's own and interfering like a kid who has no idea how to drive ...day was over and fuse inserted back once home, ran perfectly well on the road for the year that followed ... that however was last year, gave up on it, sold it, now happily living with a customized Wrangler, and sad at the idea that 2018 Wranglers will be loosing their off road FUN worth ... for something "less human/more civil", u choose the marketing term, the reality of it being called, a FUN siphoning head ache.
if they could make these with good mileage (which i know they can because the terrain gets 30+ highway) i would buy one of these for sure. yes i know you would surrender good tow capacity and torque, but you'd still be able to haul the people you need to with good mileage
Well one of my neighbors she just got a 2014 or i think it's a 2014. Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ in black. But i am suprice that she did not get the all new 2015 one. But oh well. I think they are giving very good deals on the 2014 ones since they want to get rid of them fast. So they can make room for the all new 2015 ones. And i kind of thinking she does not like the look of the new ones!!
Well it has a low range, but it must be very hard to steer and shift through the gears at the same time. I hope GM offers some new V6 like Ford's EcoBoost that will boost sales a bit...
I'd rather have a large SUV or truck than a sports car any day. Can't wait till I can find me a nice diesel excursion or even an expedition or one of these guys.
And now you can get one in the $40’s new. Unless you find that big dealer that has too many left at the end of the year. Still would only get you the base bare-bones model.
people please stop comparing saabkyle04 to 2theredline....now me personally i dont mind either channel, theyre both quite good. Saabkyle is more of an very detailed overview with facts and specs throughout not quite a review,he does drive some of the cars but imo his opinions have to be tastefully muted as he promotes dealers and cant be to offensive.
Well I definitely can't wait to see what GM has in store for the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe & Suburban, GMC Yukon & Yukon XL, and Cadillac Escalade & Escalade ESV and see what they all look like in their redesigns :) - Michael Land
Oh! It's you again, You keep on saying "old school". Old school this old school that. The same way you do the expedition and E150 review. So why bither to do a review dude.
I just recently saw Kyle Lindsay's (aka Saabkyle04) review on the new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado & it doesn't use the green color gauges, but instead uses the white ones instead. Just search for "2014 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ Crew Cab Start Up, Exhaust, and In Depth Review" and it'll pop right up :) - Michael Land
I enjoy Tahoes in general but why does this man diss it like when he talks about the keys being old fashion & saying that the car doesn't have the start BUTTON. Like c'mon man just stop dissing it & present it the way it's supposed to or don't get paid at all.
You clearly don't know much about new cars today. You can get a Nissan Sentra or Ford Focus with push button start, keyless entry, led DRLs, and a back up camera for under 20k. This big old thing is just outdated. All those things were once reserved for luxury cars that can now come cheap.
brutus64 My only point is that these once "luxury" features are now being offered on economy cars and this truck doesn't have any of them. Its time to bring this Tahoe up to par. Which I think they will with the 2014/15 year model.
I didn't think I'd be able to watch it if it hadn't processed. I can't watch mine until they've processed. Also, I didn't know certain resolutions process before others.
Hey sofyan im 14 and i was just wondering if a mustang is a safe car because alot of people from my parents generation got those kinda cars as teens please respond
Well I can guarantee you that the Nissan Titan isn't going anywhere no time soon, and as for Ford Expedition, it has gotten a refresh until its fully redesign to mark its 20th anniversary in 2017, and there is no plans about the Toyota Sequoia at this time. Maybe a refresh like Toyota's has done to their Tundra.
Until the perfect car for everything ever comes out, I think he's entitled to feel like the vehicles he reviews have some negatives. To be honest, the Tahoe's interior really is behind design-wise. But nonetheless, you came to watch a review with someone's opinion, not a guy reading off a spec sheet.
Good review, but I must point out that you failed to mention anything about the off-road capabilities of this vehicle....Most notably, the 4-wheel drive, handling in snow and mud, wet conditions, and the overall capabilities of severe weather conditions. And i kind of thinking she does not like the look of the new ones!!
and I knew nobody who had an Expedition
Well it has a low range, but it must be very hard to steer and shift through the gears at the same time. I hope GM offers some new V6 like Ford's EcoBoost that will boost sales a bit...
I'd rather have a large SUV or truck than a sports car any day. Can't wait till I can find me a nice diesel excursion or even an expedition or one of these guys.
Don't get me wrong this is a nice SUV but I would rather take a ford expedition limited.
Same here
Ford Is Best. I'd rather take the GMC Yukon😍😍
nah not really. those older 5.4L engines have a lot of issues. plus the tahoe holds its value better.
Yes more bloopers please lol
I want to buy 5 blacked out Chevy tahoes and just drive to places in them.
And now you can get one in the $40’s new. Unless you find that big dealer that has too many left at the end of the year. Still would only get you the base bare-bones model.
People still have families, these are great for families, not all parents drive minivans.
Can you make a review of the new Chevrolet Traverse ?
Great reviews btw :D
people please stop comparing saabkyle04 to 2theredline....now me personally i dont mind either channel, theyre both quite good. Saabkyle is more of an very detailed overview with facts and specs throughout not quite a review,he does drive some of the cars but imo his opinions have to be tastefully muted as he promotes dealers and cant be to offensive.
Yep. Highly useful information. Thanks!
I have 3 grand kids Jack ass 2014 suburban drives awesome
Well I definitely can't wait to see what GM has in store for the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe & Suburban, GMC Yukon & Yukon XL, and Cadillac Escalade & Escalade ESV and see what they all look like in their redesigns :)

the things is all the reviews on the internet are just about good things about cars whereas this guy is doing the review differently
Listening to this is 2021 when you can't even get your hands on one used and the new ones are 85k is laughable.
wonder if the cracking dash issues in these trucks was fixed
Well the chevy tahoe is the most lit suv
Oh! It's you again, You keep on saying "old school". Old school this old school that. The same way you do the expedition and E150 review. So why bither to do a review dude.
+niclna old school this old school that old school va fangool
Why "bither" to learn grammar? And these are old vehicles, but that is not his final opinion on the vehicle. Please come back when you are educated.
Jarek Jellison it's a typo error smart ass and it's not "grammar", it's a spelling..it should be " bother"
jesus fucking christ you two.
IT AIN'T CALLED A TRUCK IT'S CALLED A SUV
do you put unleaded or premium in cars like these?
My moms loves Tahoes.
Could you review more Volvos? Particularly the XC60. I would love to hear your opinion on that!
I just recently saw Kyle Lindsay's (aka Saabkyle04) review on the new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado & it doesn't use the green color gauges, but instead uses the white ones instead. Just search for "2014 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ Crew Cab Start Up, Exhaust, and In Depth Review" and it'll pop right up :)

Congrats
I enjoy Tahoes in general but why does this man diss it like when he talks about the keys being old fashion & saying that the car doesn't have the start BUTTON. Like c'mon man just stop dissing it & present it the way it's supposed to or don't get paid at all.
Why do Women love huge trucks?
Because it is outdated and irrelevant.
Because hes a CRITIC
You clearly don't know much about new cars today. You can get a Nissan Sentra or Ford Focus with push button start, keyless entry, led DRLs, and a back up camera for under 20k. This big old thing is just outdated. All those things were once reserved for luxury cars that can now come cheap.
brutus64 My only point is that these once "luxury" features are now being offered on economy cars and this truck doesn't have any of them. Its time to bring this Tahoe up to par. Which I think they will with the 2014/15 year model.
Those third rear seats fold down then upwards, like when you're trying to access the third row from the second row.
I didn't think I'd be able to watch it if it hadn't processed. I can't watch mine until they've processed. Also, I didn't know certain resolutions process before others.
please do a review on a 2013 Traverse
Now do a review on a Toyota Sequoia, please
could you do a video of a excursion ? if you get one in
Hey sofyan im 14 and i was just wondering if a mustang is a safe car because alot of people from my parents generation got those kinda cars as teens please respond
I like her too Luke. I like her too. :)
That argument is so American.
Go ahead, just do what you want if you can.
No I will not buy the small crossover I love this generation Tahoe thank you
SUV!
