      To be fair Strongmen has become a lot more about speed nowadays so the guys are getting a bit more lean as compared to previously.

    I weigh 330 and do sets of eight on dips. Even at my significantly lighter weight I can say it still takes a toll on your elbows as a big guy. It’s Incredibly impressive he is able to do that without elbow wraps.

      i was 250ish at 14 doing dips was alright id do 5-6 reps only stopped when my elbows started to hurt but im 235lbs now and im doing dips easier.

      I'm in that same weight range and had to stop doing dips regularly because I got tennis elbow last year. Figured I'd do sla different exercise after that.

    I think what a lot of people don't realize with strongman competitions, is that you not only need to be strong but incredible athletic. The different events they compete in over the course of the days is insanely brutal and requires of fitness and flexibility.

    Brian is not 440 pounds anymore. He's around 405. He lost weight to be more athletic.

      @@YetAnotherRetardedYTUpdate No it's because WSM has had lighter implements these last couple of years. But this year not only are they good events for Brian, but they're going heavy with the said events as well.

      That 240 double was not easy
      But he could probably have done 440-265-430 with 6-12 months of PL training in his prime

      I don't think Brian Shaw is too old at all to have a crack at a few powerlifting meets when he finishes Strongman comps. It would be interesting to see what numbers he could lift if he focused on those lifts for 12 months or so.

    Chest also trains shoulders and triceps
    Back trains biceps and forearms
    So in theory you dont need to train arms directly

    For WSM 2022 I believe he was 385 or so, so out of comp he's probably closer to 400 than 440

      @@jaleelz7435 I have seen Julius shoulder press huge weights, bench press nearly 360kgs and shock Eddie Hall when training triceps with him (at the huge weights he moves with ease). He also benches with a relatively narrow grip. So it is a pretty easy guess that his dips would be very very good. In both cases Brian and Julius dipping is super impressive.
      I would also say that they are plenty of videos online of people dipping with combined weight of 200kgs+ (body plus additonal).
