The screw down pushers make that an extra special cosmograph
Yes but there are more stuff that make this chrono special
Nice to see one of these inside. The finishing is just unbelievable. Enjoyed the rebuild.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you Zenith … 1988/2000 .. helped build the brand we have today..
It is true
They’re still making it to this day, a testament to the quality of the movement for sure.
@@KurtLeeKitchens one of my favorite caliber
What a difference a service by a craftsman makes. Well done…. Love the watch 🫶
Thank you
@@FrenchWatchCollector Seeing that the Daytona is your grail watch, have you been able to purchase one for yourself? :)

Great job on the best looking watch ever. Thank you.
Thank you Serge
Another great service and rebuild of an iconic watch. A beautiful movement and great looking watch. Excellent work performed there...
Love you vids... Merci
Thank you so much
I just wanted to take a moment to say how amazing your video was! I was really impressed with the quality of the footage, the editing, and the overall presentation. You did a great job of explaining the topic in a clear and concise way, and I learned a lot from watching your video.
I also really appreciated the way you made the video engaging and entertaining. You kept my attention throughout the entire video, and I never felt bored or lost. I would definitely recommend your video to anyone who is interested in learning more about the video.
Thanks again for making such a great video! I look forward to watching more of your content in the future.
PS: I outsourced this feedback to AI.
❤
superb service! you have super nerves to go in to a 20k watch and service!! nice job removing the broken screw, that must have been nerve wracking !
Always so much better to work on a nice piece like this one
I can't be the only one that thinks an amazing movement like that with all the details like the red Daytona and blue spring on the balance... deserves a display back! I understand why they don't on dive watches like the SD43 and Sub, but surely it would be a welcome addition to the Daytona.
They did it for the first time this year
All Daytona's from now on will have a display back
Awesome restoration! Just got the new 126500ln and your video made me realize it'll last a 100 years! 😃
For sure it will
Great watch and always great value as well but said that, it's not my cup of tea.
I prefer by far Zenith "el primero" and Omega Speedmaster professional which I own, a question of taste.
Awesome video and amazing work.
Many thanks for sharing.
I love the Zenith and the Omega too.
The El Primero would be my choice if I wanted a white dial chronograph as well. The dial decoration pops so much more! Speedy IMO is boring and a default choice but I know it's beloved. ;)
@@bigslacker666 it's what i hate on the el primero, the black circle ruin the watch in my eyes, i will take the black one if i had to buy the el primero movement
Nice work! It seems like there are hair and small dust flakes, are they on the outside? :)
What a beautiful Rolex Daytona - its dial is just stunning! I am particularly fond of your watch restoration videos because you film them in gloriously sharp 4K. ❤ Add your dedicated watchmaking skills and this is my reward after a difficult week. Wishing you all the very best, and many blessings, Wendi UK 🌻
Thank you very much!
Wow another beautiful watch
Thank you
Un vrai régal. Merci pour ce beau travail.
Meric à vous
I thoroughly enjoyed that. What a magnificent movement and what a great restoration. Nice video.
Loved to work on this watch
Yes Perfect. Keep well from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Thanks Bruce
Incredible video and work!
Thank you very much
Bien fait!
Merci
Lovely video 👍thanks
Thank you
It's a splendid watch. I thought I could almost afford it in the 80s but waiting a year for stainless while being pressured to go for solid gold which was always in stock seemed insulting. Sorry but I can't afford ten times as much money! Oh well.
Yes they were not selling that well at the time
@@FrenchWatchCollector I think it was the deliberate scarcity they are still imposing today. It's a good tactic since nobody can expect a discount when second hand ones are more expensive than new ones.
Amazing 🤩
Thank you
Nice piece. Great video.
Thank you
That was great!
Thanks
Excellent work. 👌
Thanks a lot 😊
Young boy , brilliant work .
Thank you
Just subscribed. I really enjoyed the passion you put! Nice work!
Thank you
Awesome video! What's the type of oil that you applied to the setting lever? Thanks.
I use some 9501
Which oil do you use for the ball bearing and only a swap? Thanks and great video 👍
I use some 9010
Great work! And a beautiful watch, the Daytona is absolutely stunning
The link, for the movement holder in the description, is not working...
Is this a Horia holder for el primero 4030?
It is a movement holder from cousin uk
So Nice 😍
Thank you
Love the video as usual. May I ask how long did the actual restoration take, from the parts ordered (crystal, pusher) to the final timegrapher reading?
It took around three weeks with the parts
Nice 👍 job
Thanks 👍
Lovely watch... waiting to see it on the site for sale!!!! (lol)😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Hope you enjoy it!
Very nice work done by you 😊.I enjoyed the video.❤
I'm very much interested in machenical watch repair and I learn from UA-cam videos like yours 😊
Thank you so much 🙏
Thank you so much
I started like this as well
👍
Real beautiful watch in and out
👍
ALS, Patek and VC all have horizontal clutches, its not really a price issue, its one of aesthetics.
Horizontal clutch are a bit more technical.
As always love your attention to detail and the history of the watch you provide. Most of all love the way you say "barrel arbor" always my favourite part of any video of yours :D
Thank you so much
Does Rolex do the perlage by hand or by machine?
By machine
Sacre bleu
Oh man, from $5,000 to $25,000 value.
Thank you
If you find a $5000 Daytona, let me know where and I buy it. These days you are lucky to find one for $25k.
Have to be off your head to pay $25k for a Daytona.
Or money to burn?
@@garyboyle695 It is a market price so I guess a lot of people are ready to pay this amount of money
I have a Daytona that has a stem that is broken so it is impossible to set the time. Any suggestions on where I can get it repaired?
You can send it to me or any watchmaker
@@FrenchWatchCollector it’s a replica and some watchmakers don’t work on replicas.
@@billbuss7542 yes because the movement is not reliable and we don’t take the risk of repairing and get some issues later
👏👍👌
👍
Your website is down? 😢
I will be back soon
Is this the Paul Newman version? I know he always wore a Rolex Daytona.
It is not the Paul Newman version. It is a newer iteration
When you polish the bezel, the numbers are now bigger because the polish eat the edges...can be done better. Actually is my job that
I would need a lapping machine that I don't have yet
:)
Hi, I have the same Daytona and it need a service. Will do it for me? Of course I’ll pay… let me know. Thsnks regards
Sorry but I have an health problem of I am not able to get your watch. Sorry
Scusami come hai tolto la ghiera??
I think the inside is better looking than the outside. I always wanted a Daytona till I found out that they're screw down pushers and you can't even operate the chronograph without taking off the watch I'll stick to my quartz Bulova
You can operate the chronograph on your wrist without any issues. It is just that the pusher are screw down pushers like the crown.
You can operate the chronograph fine without taking it off.
It is very easy to unscrew the pushers (even with the watch on) or just leave them unscrewed. And the watch will have the same water resistance with the pushers unscrewed....just don't push the pushers when in the shower/underwater....just like you don't want to do on any chronograph without screw down pushers.
@@robertbarta4912 good to know
Apart from your excellent work on the movement, im always disgusted by the job that watchmakers do on case and bracelet finishing. Man those runded edges on endlinks (lok at 41:07), rounded bezel marks and edges. Brushed finishing on the links is totally wrong. 99% of watchmakers shoud be banned from using polishing wheel, unless they have special equipment (like for example dude from WatchesSpa - look at him, he is supreme). That case was butchered.
This is how you over polish a watch. Ruined!
Oh man 3000 jewels. Two days of oiling, 100ml of HP1300 and 50ml of 9100, ehm..I've forgot the automatic bridge...Rolex is all about the sturdy movement. They'll last for ever with good care. But still can not justify their prices, like the most of the big swiss names. And the design is a bit out of date. Rolex never had a design as a strength. Smells liek german design spirit, useful, practical and less charm like an ugly dog with an character, you see him ugly but you can not hate him you got to love him.
Hahah
you talk tooo much can't watch the whole video uuffff
total amateur to break the hand...
Maybe you can do better in your watchmaking videos? Oh right, you don’t have any!
It actually happens more often then people know!
