  • Linda Eder started her career singing in lounges and casinos, but it was her unprecedented winning streak on TV's "Star Search" that really helped her take off. That memorable turn introduced her to composer Frank Wildhorn, and led to a starring stage role in his production of Jekyll and Hyde. A decade later Jekyll hit Broadway, and she was well on her way-- following up her stage triumph with a series of critically-acclaimed albums and sold-out concerts. On this episode of "InnerVIEWS with Ernie Manouse," is our conversation with stellar vocalist Linda Eder.

I first took note of Linda Eder after seeing her Christmas special on PBS one evening many years ago. I have five of her CDs and the music is beautiful. When she sings Vienna with the symphony, it gives me chills. She is humble too. She didn't worry about being a diva. A woman with class is so much more powerful.

Yes, I admit it, I watched every show of Star Search she was on and was amazed by Linda. I have been fortunate to watch her in concert in Fort Wayne and a beautiful place, the Embassy. Magnificent voice, humble, and performed flawlessly.

Linda is a Judy lover, and the way she describes Judy's influence on her career is pure class.

Just came upon this today. What a lovely down to earth lady with an unbelievable voice. Love love love her voice. Wish she was well known in Britain so I could go to see her in concert. Our loss. Well done to the interviewer too. ,👍🌹

I’ve seen her in Columbus ohio once and in Cleveland twice and she was absolutely the best , so much so that when she sang “ Someone like Me “ I forgot that she wasn’t just singing to me and when she hit those last notes tears were down my face , forever moved. She’s Streisand without the nasal sound , Garlsnd without the vibrato . Pure sound , never humming. She has gone out of her way to not be a household name . She doesn’t want fame and those who know herself out her shows . When she sang at Carnegie Hall she sold out I an hour. Cleveland helped support wildhorns Broadway shows and Linda gave blood singing one finale song after an other for 90 minutes then a half hour break then final40 minutes . Thank you Linda for giving a performance I’ll remember the rest of my life . Your the best singer I e ever heard. The reluctant Diva who doesn’t know she’s the best .

I have always loved Linda and her amazing voice since I first heard her voice on the Jekyll & Hyde original cast recording. Listening to her in this interview makes me want to hang out with her. She's the kind of person I would want as a friend. 👍

Great talent, no doubt about that. Linda comes across as a very passionate, honest person. I like that she mentioned about being nervous on stage. I often wondered how great singers like Linda felt when performing. At least I got one answer regarding that question.

I am still within you, as you want me to be as you are you and I am still me, matured of course yet forever still the child of five resides within me. She still loves you as I do in all that you do. The world needs you, keep doing what you do replenishing the world as you do. Yes, this the world will always love you, your nervousness is what makes you always brand new.
