  • PART 3 - HUNDRED ACRES Reunion show - Second practice
2nd Practice for Hundred Acres Reunion Show...... the puzzle unfolds on this reunion show.
2nd Practice for Hundred Acres Reunion Show...... after a great 1st practice with just the "hoofbeat of the HeRD" (Jeff,Johnny, Brian), we located and brought in the most elusive brother.. Mr. Matthew Oakes, for the second practice to revive the "mandolin-vocal layer" of the Hundred Acres sound before bringing in our final flavor Quentin Horton at the next practice! After Matthew finally found the secret practice chamber it was like old times and the booze flowed well, perfectly entwined in the songs just like its supposed to..... We worked out a few kinks and are now ready for the next practice which will include our final piece of the puzzle, the Nash-Tele sounds of Quentin Horton! Stay tuned y'all 😁 I'll have another practice video soon y'all! 😎 Remember the show is now booked for this wild reunion of musical brothers. Thu March 16th, 7pm - Model City Taphouse. Mark your calendars.
Hundred Acres was/is a toe-tappin' folky-Americana rock band formed in 2011 around the songs of frontman Jeff Lane. The band released their first record "Where the Buffalo Roam" on Jeff's 40th birthday at "The Shack" in Kingsport, TN. It was also their actual first show as band. The group released their next record the following year, also on Jeff's birthday "Feels Good" and from there played hundreds of local and regional shows, from tiny smoking bars to large outdoor festivals, radio, and television appearances. The band found a dead end like many others at the beginning of the pandemic after playing their final show in December of 2019. Like others they lost several gigs and decided at the time to take a break. Most of Hundred Acres members went on to do various other industry gigs, etc. Jeff went on to release an acoustic album "Songteller" and Quentin Horton together with longtime friend Benny Wilson went on to release "Walking Each Other Home" by Q&B. Both Brian Seiler (drums) and Johnny Nat Rasar (bass) went on to play in various lineups and original co-founding member Matthew Oaks (mandolin/vocals) went on to becoming a bee-keeper and wine-maker!
If you'd like to see the final result of putting this back together over the next few weeks, please stay tuned each week for the next video!
