Can I use this method to configure a 2.5" HDD to turn it into an internal Xbox One S HDD?
I don't have an usb to SATA cable but I do have an external case.
My question is: I will follow this method, install Xbox One S OS to said HDD and then replace it for the original console HDD

@@izetberisa2873you have to need a pc and 5gb or more hard drive to order to download Microsoft file to fix your console and make sure there nothing in your hard drive or it won’t work so delete everything expect the Microsoft file in your hard drive but for now I forgot everything so focused the video by step by step

@@nurlowe6564 tbh all I’ve ever had to use was OSU 1. When I wrote that comment I was using an old operating system on my thumb drive which is why it didn’t work the first time. But after installing the latest OSU 1 file it worked. So just try that first lol.

THIS WORKS! i’ve taken apart my xbox one s so many times now, that most of these methods won’t work for me. But this method works! It only took abt 20 minutes of my time to download and install everything into my xbox.

Turns out if you are apart of the insider programme you might need to wait for a updated OSU file to be released.

@@ElectronicsComputers hey man I noticed the Xbox boot up isn’t there anymore, I mean using instant on is an option to but if I ever just use power save mode and boot it up, it’s just a black screen in place of the Xbox boot up animation. Any idea on how to install that back on ?

Wow I started with error 102, I did all these steps and got to 72% it stopped working, and I now had a error 105. I got mad and pulled the plug out of the back of my Xbox, I came back 20min later, plugged the power back in, and turned on holding power and disk drive button... what do you know my Xbox started from 72% and finished updating. I now have a working console after 3months of no use.... so I guess what iam saying is thank you 🙏🏽

@@abdelkarim6618 probably the hard drive was dying, bad sectors and so it needs a new hard drive would be my guess.
What USB drive did you use? I have tried two with the system update on both of them but neither of them made the update option light up.
You need a regular 8GB or larger USB drive. Make sure that your USB drive was formatted into the NTFS file system and the $SystemUpdate folder is in the root directory of your USB drive.

When installing new internal drive do we need to format it make single partition before through PC or just insert Fresh drive directly and use flash drive osu1 file
If it's a brand new drive then simply put it inside and install updates. If it's a used one I'd recommend removing all partitions from the drive to make it look like a brand new one. Of course Xbox during updates installing can reformat the drive and remove those partitions but I've seen some cases with used drives when some partitions were encrypted or protected somehow and the console wasn't been able to reformat the drive.

I have been running around in circles trying for MONTHS to get my xbox working again, tried every single option and have been so frustrated, tried the other OSU's as suggested on mc site and forums, hard restarts and resets, then found your video and was FINALLY able to get the offline update available!!!! I was on the exact same version as yours which is apparently an insider program version which was confusing because i dont remember ever enrolling in it to begin with. Currently on the update screen which i havent been able to access since last year when my console got into the system error loop. Praying that the update completes and so grateful to have found your vid. Gave you a sub youre amazing THANK YOU
UPDATE: It worked, update completed and finally able to actually get it running again after a YEAR. ILY you deserve more subs THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!

Mine fails after the first reboot right before install with System Error: E100 00000703 80910002 coukd this be due to system software is newer than OSU1 release software and it sees it as a “downgrade” ? Or just that it cannot partition the new ssd ?

@negativecloudzplus5733 I was a member of the insider program and I also used a usb 3.0 instead of 2.0 and that also might have fixed it.Once my xbox left the program I factory reset it.Than I inserted the ssd and usb hopefully this helps u also be sure to use the right usb because some of them doesn't support xbox 👍
Btw the unenroll of insider program may take some time so be patient 😀

Perfect, kinda like the PS4 way of doing it, so awesome, now if anyone can find a working way to use 2+ tb drives on the xbox one, they really need release a fix to be done with it instead of having to use script, powershell, or whatever is needed. Give us at lease a 5 to 8 internal limit, come on Bill you own use more than one.

Try to connect your controller via cable and perform boot into the troubleshooting mode.
Ss soon as I press to start downloading thw software it goes and starts download for like some seconds and the my xbox automatically shuts off
I was so frazzled when mine wouldn't boot up fully, I took it to get fixed after exhausting every troubleshooting method. It would go straight to black after the logo and welcome. This is what they are doing I guess. I could have done this and save $80. I will subscribe to your page for future reference.
If you can't see the startup animation it's OK (it happens after you reinstall Xbox "OS") it will be back after next Xbox update.

You need to replace your hard drive. You can use any 500GB, 1TB and 2TB HHDs/SSDs. I have a video on how to replace your drive.

That's right! Just put a new drive inside and install OS. And after you log in into your Xbox account and reinstall all your games your game progress will be back.
When I click offline system update with my usb in it just says something went wrong and I click continue and it brings me back to the the troubleshoot page any ideas?

Make sure that your USB drive was formatted into the NTFS file system and the $SystemUpdate folder is in the root directory of your USB drive. try different ports. Double-check everything!

Why you should do that? it's not gonna work, just reinstall Xbox "OS" from a USB drive and after you install your games and login to your account all your game progress will be back.

Most likely your HDD has died. Did you participate in Xbox Insider program?

Just try to update it with OSU1 if it doesn't work then use OSU2 too.

Yes, you can unenroll from your computer but your console should be connected to the internet anyway so it could know that you unenrolled from insider and after that your console will be updated to a regular firmware version. Otherwise, you can't reinstall Xbox OS and as a result you can't replace your HDD.
I tried it multiple times it finishes step two and restarts and then just freezes at 65% after a few minutes it gives me something went wrong message. How can I fix this? I’ve been stuck for so long.

If you clone your HDD to the same capacity SSD then it's relatively safe. But again, I never recommend cloning because reliability wise it's not the best option. For example, you might encounter some issues with the system updates or after you hard reset your console.

Hey dude, do you happen to have the OSU1 file that you can share? the link on xbox is no longer working and can find it nowhere else, also thank you for your detail guides they are awesome, just recently made a repaste on my one X with it.
All links work perfectly fine! Microsoft constantly updates those files, so don't even try to download from not official websites because it's not gonna work. Maybe try proxy or another browser if you can't open the link.

Hi, i cant find any help about my issue, maybe you can advice me.
I press the turn on button, then after five seconds it sounds the turn off sound and the xbox shuts down.
Nothing is beign displayed on the screen.
I´ve tried eject + sync + power on and the same happens) cannot make the reset menu to appear.
I´ve also opened it to clear the fan because i though it was turning off because of heat and fan not spinning, but it was not the case :/

Try to turn it on without your HDD, ODD and wireless board (which is on the side of your console).
I got a xbox from someone but there is an account so if I delete everything from the HDrive would it ask for the password or anything like that? or this become like factory reset? let me know thanks
After hard reset it will be just like out of the box and you'll need to either enter the credentials of that user or create your own Xbox account. If you already played some games under that account and have a lot of saves then with a new account you won't be able to get your game progress back, so you'll have to start from the beginning.
