I so love seeing a setup made for their needs. My only thought is a longer tank for better enrichment and exercise. I am a geeky Old reptile keeper 😊. My 5 took to the 36 x 18 x 24's. Just a thought. And when really comfortable, they are out more and more interested in us.😊

This was just a temporary enclosure for him when he was small. Working on a bigger enclosure for him right now actually.

Where did you get you flat pieces of wood? I really like how they stick out in the back

Do u jus take cuttings and add them in without propagating usually ?

It depends entirely on the plant, if it’s something I know will grow fine from soil propagation then I just throw it in, but if it’s something more sensitive I usually like to get it rooted first

did you ever have issues with the great stuff peeling?

I did not, it’ll typically hold a good bit of weight and still stick to the glass. In very larger enclosure with much heavier materials attached to the background, you should usually add some kind of support to make sure the foam doesn’t fall off the glass

@@ormsonaquariumdesign3587 I had some issues though I did a 3 sided background. It needs some kind of structure to stick, and mine didnt have that.
For anyone doing a 3 sided background with this method-
      1. Put some egg crate or other material for the foam to stick to, it'll ensure longevity
      2. Get different colored silicone/foam, it'll be easier to see where you applied it and you'll be less likely to miss spots
      Such a fun project.

Protip, you can use silicon 2. 100% and they have black.

I’ve heard mixed things about using Silicone 2. Some people say it’s not safe for vivariums. I believe ASI also sells a black silicone that is animal safe

I wouldn't use it for fish or aquatic animals. But I know a lot of people that have used it for frogs and lizards with now issues, including myself.

That’s what I’ve heard, a lot of people say “I haven’t had any issues” but there isn’t much info out there about whether or not there are actual impacts from using the product. Generally speaking I believe it’s safe after curing but I’d love to find out once and for all if there are any negative affects from from the mold inhibitors and such

@@ormsonaquariumdesign3587 exactly. Better safe than sorry, imagine coming to find your lizard sick or dead because you wanted to cheap out on silicone 2 instead of just going with silicone 1. Can never trust people in the internet either
