Natalie, Yes!!! Thank you for highlighting the fact that people used to stay in horrible marriages because there was no other option. It doesn’t mean the marriages were safe or good.
throwing toilets paper in the trash is common in central and south america, lots of places in europe and asia. the pipes were not built for it in old places! also, everyone should get a prenup full stop.
Korean gov actively introduced 'flush the tissues' scheme only few years ago. You might see signs in public toilets, and this helped lessen the labour of cleaning public toilets. A lot of older Koreans previously piled up the bin and litter the floor with tissues because of their old habits with bad sewege from back in the time. Buildings with old sewege system is suffering and getting clogged after the scheme though, because now people are developing new habit of flushing the tissues! You will also see signs saying 'tissues in the bin pls' 😂
Every married couple in the US already has a prenup. When you get married you are bound by your state’s rules in the event of a divorce. If you and your partner want to create your own rules in the event of a divorce, you can do so by writing your own personalized prenup. So married couples all fall into two categories, those who want to use their state’s prenup terms and those who choose their own prenup terms.
I’m not sure how accurate this is, but my friends mother who is a lawyer says it takes a few weeks to get a prenup so I’m not sure most couples in love is blind would have enough time to secure a prenup prior to the weddings. So if any of them would want one they’d probably have to do a post-nup.
The millionaire who added that clause to the prenup is being unfairly criticized. This situation was clearly an exchange that benefited both parties. The wife offered her body and looks, fully aware of the arrangement, while he provided for her. He's not a jerk. And if he's a jerk, does that make her a gold digger?
In the middle east where the dowry is paid to the woman’s family, it is her money to keep. Now, if you are in a society where u will never have a chance to make your own money, a dowry is ur only chance to correct this situation. If you say: no i am not for sale, you are leaving ur well deserved money on the table! Again, you have no career, no prospects, and he can divorce u tomorrow. The problem with dowry was, it was either confiscated by ur family, or they were poor enough not to be able to buy you what u need in ur new home, so they spend the money. It is an antiquated form of contract binding, but before looking down on it, let’s think about the distribution of wealth and what you can and cannot access as a woman. I will take a dowry any time of the day.
That is considering that your dowry went to you and not your husband's family. In India they ask for cars or other such things and still treat the wide badly. Wealthy or educated families will give their daughters gold which also could be taken. So 🤷🏻♀️
@@Chris_Lnd I've never heard some European countries don't. In Italy we do, same as with France, Slovenia, the UK, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands... Can't speak to any of the others
I live in Sweden and we do but that's only because our infrastructure was modernized, I think most places in the world don't - so I'm so confused why they think this is odd. It's just poop, lol
This not a feel sorry for me thing but for some perspective deepti my dad is dead and my mom is too old to travel to do most things that require a lot of walking and if she tried to set me up with someone I would laugh and roll with it and not be embarrassed so… just some perspective! You stop caring about anything that might “embarrass” you after you lose a parent and you actually instead regret not being more chill in moments like that ❤ cause you’ll never get more…
Idk I think it’s okay to be embarrassed that’s what parents do I’m sure her mom was kinda trying to embarrass her. Idk maybe it depends on the relationship you have with your parents if I told my mom she was embarrassing she would laugh and lean more into it and I would laugh too I would be embarrassed but not mad. I really don’t think it’s that serious. Also I’m sorry about your loss 🫶
I agree. I am slowly turning into my mother and I feel soo bad about how impatient I used to be with her now that I need to "take it slow". No one tells us this so I am glad that you spoke up.
On 90 day fiancé thru constantly talk about prenups so it’s interesting in LIB it’s not as big of a deal. I think Stacy wanted a prenup with Izzy though….
As a christian woman , we have been taught that God hates divorce. When you think about it a lot of people are hurt in the process of divorce. And the times where divorce IS acceptable biblically speaking is due to infidelity or abuse. I do think that divorce is a sad thing. Specially in a culture that has normalized it so much. Im not saying its every case but i know people that have gotten divorced because of communication issues- like those are things that if both people would have put in the work in couples counseling it could have been fixed. To Love is a choice-marriage is a choice consciously through good and bad. Ofc like i mentioned earlier there are exceptions such as abuse or infidelity. I think with iyanas case and the prayer thing is different because he did cheat. But the reality is that marriage is also a sacred and spiritual union which prayer does help to unite both people. Sadly though some people DO like to manipulate this and force people to stay in marriages making them feel guilty or with shame even though there is abuse or infidelity within the relationship
I’m sorry what lol 😂 maybe I’m just poor idk but we’ve always thrown toilet paper in the trash can I live in Texas… I grew up this way so did my husband and all our friends. We use grocery bags to refill the restroom can 😅 yall might just be upper class? Idk maybe Texas has bad plumbing 🪠

I think you guys really need to work on some high quality content!
Why? Their banter IS what makes this podcast so refreshing 🤷🏽♀️
Nope…. That would make it staged and unnatural. The organic quality of this podcast is what sets it apart.
Me when I got married broke and wasn’t asked to prenup: 😇
Me after my father passed away and I inherited a large sum: 👀
