- Quick test and demo of a 4006 system in a small office building. The 4006 series is strictly a zoned system with 10 IDC's and 4 NAC's. This panels later twin the 4008, has an addressable SLC.

Our city's YMCA Youth Center had a Simplex 4006 system installed in August 2011, replacing an old Simplex 2001-8001 panel (they actually went and installed the 4006 right into the gutted 2001 cabinet, and it actually looks pretty neat.) They kept the existing devices on the system, though they built a new elevator for the building and that section had Wheelock Exceder horn/strobes and Simplex 2099-9754 single-action pulls installed.
They recently put in a Simplex 4006 system at the Ob/Gyn center near my hometown's main hospital. It replaced a Simplex 4001 panel from the early 90s, and they kept all the existing devices from that system (including the 2901-9838 horns on 4903-9001 light plates.) Seems I generally just see the 4006 used to replace any older smaller zoned hardwired systems (mostly older Simplex panels; I've even seen one installed in a gutted 2001-8001 cabinet!)

I had the phone lines disconnected for troubleshooting on the DACT.

I have a 4008. Unfortunately, it has what I believe is a bad transformer, as not only do the panel batteries not charge (not well at least), but the panel will do warm restarts on itself. I wish I could get it fixed, as not only did I get it NIB, but it has a built-in annunciator in the cabinet door, and I'd hate to see it go to waste because of this one issue.

Sounds like you need a new main board. Odds are it will come with a new display assembly affixed with it.

Yes, at least for now. Probably not for long considering they've moved on to more advanced products.
No but I believe some of the legacy parts are probably still in production.

Hi there, I have 4006 newly installed and its working normal no fault, but i cannot go Login, the numbers keypad not functioning except the 0. May I ask anyone for help?
My guess is that the rubber contacts behind the numbers are broken. Hope this helps.
