It’s a loving tribute that has all the heart of the first two films, and there are plenty of Easter eggs and little details for fans to find. Some fan favorites return, like William Sadler as Death, and even though George Carlin has sadly passed on, there are still some lovely tributes to him in the film. What did you think was the best part of Bill and Ted Face the Music?
Not sure about the best part but the first time I got emotional was seeing Hendrix jamming with Wolfie
Hal Landon Jr.
@Shmoopy Shaboopy oh my gosh favorite part of that scene: Louie Armstrong dancing away happily in the background 🤘
Missie marrying Deacon
When they were escaping with buckets on their heads at the Mansion.
I was really worried I wouldn't like the daughters. I thought they would be brats who were embarrassed by their dads. I loved that they were basically their dads biggest fans and kinda goofy. It was charming.
Agreed! For once it was a film that well managed the idea of adding active female characters to a movie franchise without making them into robotic uber feminists that kill or humiliate the original male protagonists.
@@ShonaMcCarthy Exactly! I wish more films could do this!
@@ShonaMcCarthy Not only that, but it shows fathers in a positive light, rather than using them as comedic punching bags like most modern TV shows and movies like to do. The positive father-daughter relationship in this film made it for me.
I was also worried about the daughters at first, but when I saw how much they loved their fathers, I knew they would be great additions.
@vilcantroper are you sure you were watching the movie? In the end, they made the song.
Not an unfair or unrealistic fear- especially if Bill & Ted had been as famous as one might expect. That wouldn’t really serve the plot though- Especially considering that Billie & Thea are the real subject of the prophecy. The narrator says that the over-arching theme of the three films is the power of music to unite & that’s not wrong. But if I was going to hang a bumper-sticker moral or theme on this one it would be “The future is Female”. It’s so evident in so many large & small ways that it seems impossible that the producers etc. didn’t intend it.
I burst into tears when she introduced herself as Rufus's daughter Kelly and knew immediately it was a tribute (George Carlin is a hero of mine)
She also gave the exact same greeting when first meeting Bill & Ted:
"Greetings, my excellent friends."
They were supposed to have a scene with George Carlin using preexisting footage. I guess it got cut. :(
for me it was the Rufus hologram.
Sangjester yeah that hit me hard also
69 thumbs up! Excellent! 🎸🎶
You have to go into this movie accepting what it is. It's just a fun little revisiting of these classic characters. It was never gonna be super necessary since Bogus Journey ended their story fine. Some bits didn't really land but I enjoyed it overall.
And come on, that ending! Bill and Ted jamming out with their band literally mending the space time continuum, with Keanu Reeves throwing high fives all around clearly having the time of his life. It puts a smile on my face every time I see it.
Yeah I had a blast with this one, I went in knowing exactly what it was...fine addition to the series!
People these days dont accept nothing anymore the fact that Keanu and Alex did this movie after all these years is amazing they didn't have to do this they could of just left it as it was at least most of the actors stayed the same and didn't really change I really liked face the music bogus journey death made the whole movie
Totally agree I loved it they didn't have to do but I have been wanting another one since I was like 4 years old and was so happy to get it
RIP George Carlin.......your work is greatly appreciated
The two Bill and Ted films are the only ones Carlin appeared in without cursing...
Here here !!!
Rip Mr. Conductor.
Glad he got a cameo.
Death has the board game Battle Ship on his shelf, the first game Bill and Ted beat him in Bogus Journey
The robot and death were definitely the best parts of the film. I love how they took two serious actors and made them absolutely hilarious 😂
My name is Dennis. Dennis McCoy.
love Anthony Carrigan interpretation of Victor Zsasz and this great character he change everything in his persona!!!!
One of the things I noticed was in their garage there’s a Faith No More poster, paying tribute to the Faith No More guitarist, Jim Martin, who was in Bill & Teds Bogus Journey.
Station!
If someone missed any of these, they didn't watch the movie.
Finally a move made just to enjoy, no life lessons, no cultural messages. Just entertaining. Two thumbs up.
You missed the subtext of growing up and passing the torch to the next generation. Of not holding onto nostalgia.
Oh and the plot of the story where they unite the world in peace.
But yeah just a mindless fun romp.
Be excellent to one another!
there was totally a message to this movie. unity, dude. unity
@@bigmancan1 party on dude
Am I the only one who (thinks) i caught a Station callout in the film? I thought for sure that would have been mentioned here.
i caught it lol mean they put that in :)
It was at least once, if not twice
Right even if it a incarnation it still a reference
I think Kid Cudi supposed to be a Station
It was definitely there.
laughed wholeheartedly when Ted played the Theramin by headbanging.
I couldn't face the fact that Missy marrying all men related to Bill & Ted
If they wanted it to go with the movie's narrative, she should have married Ted's daughter.
Lol
I love the fact it was the daughters that helped there dads out and they knew they weren't failures to them . they were successful in the end.
the whole thing with ted and the smiley faces is so wholesome to me for some reason-
I know they couldn't fit in absolutely everything, but I'm kind of disappointed that they didn't include, or at least mention, the good robot Bill and Teds. :)
At least Station got a mention near the end.
I thought Dennis dancing was a tribute to them. Dennis looked a little like the good robot us'es
There was a snippet about the good robot bill and Ted's right at the end of the credits but they were moving too quick for me to catch what the credit was for
@@SimJackson Special thanks
the true title of this should be is details you missed if you didn't actually watch the movie..... Such a waste of 11 mins, just watch the movie.
EXCELLENT
Bogus
Agreed my friend
A major plus for the movie...the daughters.
They could of easily been a corny version of Bill & Ted...but they were not 🎸
Thea was good but Billy was way too over the top and just looked like a bad SNL impression of Ted.
I also thought the daughters were a great addition that could have been SO BAD.
Brigette Lundy-Paine (Billie) was a highlight for me and she seemed to definitely be very much influenced by her father Ted. Thought her mannerisms were perfect.
Samara Weaving's (Thea) was much more subtle and seemed like the character was far less directly influenced by Bill.
I can see where some people might not like Brigette's performance, if you found her mannerisms too distracting or artificial then throughout the movie it would likely bug you more and more.
Saw the twist coming very early on, wished they could have hidden it better, but it didn't detract from the movie for me.
Except they were
I was so worried they were gonna be all bitter and nasty. Instead they were pretty endearing, I love that they were their dads biggest fans.
I liked the Dave Grohl cameo. Though I was really hoping Bill & Ted would ask him to help with the song, just for Dave to go: "Get the f*ck outta my house." lol
How does Dave Grohl connect with the movie other than I guess he was a fan? It should have been Eddie Van Halen.
@@MrKeychange I think Eddie's health is not good at present.
@@spiritanimal8836 His cancer is back? :(
Foo fighters are a horribly over rated band.
@@honeypower Seriously.
The Circle K scene was one of my favorite scenes of the original movie One of my favorite lines I don’t know I just work here still amazes me to this day no matter how many times I watch it
I rented it and it was great. I hadn't seen a new flick in ages. Me going to see Bogus Journey took place during the first date I ever went on in my life. Lol. Great series!
I also liked at the end that Jesus was playing "more cowbell!" 😂
I thought it was awesome, waited years. Imo, didn't disappoint.
I thought the ending was a little weak but I loved the message. It's not the music that did it, but that everyone played together.
@@darkmyro I agree, It was really abrupt.
There is way more to this story than meets the eye
Please explain.
Most bodacious third installment of all time! WYLD STALLYNS RULE! 🎤😁🤘
I loved the ending. I love how everyone gets brought together and all play together its so cool
I loved Bill and Ted Face the Music and I loved this video!! Thanks for posting!!
You guys completely missed that the Guitars that Rufus gives Bill and Ted in the first movie are in the background with all the guitars on Display when Bill and Ted are Brought to the future
I loved it. Thought they started out trying to be too serious with the couple's counsellor plotline, but the first scene about Missy showed there was still the right level of silliness to come! I went hoping they wouldn't retcon anything and I'm so glad they didn't (getting the Grand Canyon date wrong is excused). All the callbacks were great and although the ending twist was seen a mile away, it still choked me up. Yes, it wasn't needed, it didn't have the same vibe, but it was a great revisit nonetheless!
Wasnt a fan of the movie the first time, but it grew on me. A most excellent final installment.
I'm so glad they put in so many Rufus references to Carlin and that the actress plays Rufus's daughter. to help them very nice touch to movie not t I forget Carlin part
Seen Bill and Ted Face the music at a drive in! Fantastic movie! But our car battery died right before the finale! Had to hear it from other peoples cars! 😑
Bogus...
I really enjoyed it, great follow up to the first two movies
Want the good robot bill and ted in there
I was secretly hoping that the song to unite the world was "In Time" by Robbie Robb. That was such a great song in Bill and Ted : Excellent adventure. Would have been a nice call back in the third film, if the song they had heard in the future in part 1 was the song that they wrote and performed to unite the world... never the less. great movie.
It's not the song, it's that everyone played together :)
@@darkmyro lol Touche! But why didn't they just play "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Ashey then ?
The song should have been God Gave Rock and Roll To You
I always thought In Time was the song, I thought the end song should've been both In Time and God Gave Rock n Roll mixed up.
So to be clear the tiny details I missed were. 1) The plot of Bill and Ted Face the Music. How did this video get 1.2k likes?
The movie covered it all. If you watched the first two then watched this last one, you picked up on the premise and nothing new to discover.
I could swear that Kid Cudi is Station
I think it was suggested, but as, aside from him exclaiming "STATION!" it's never outright said, I've had people argue that, since he went to hell, he was just honoring Station...never convince me of it though, just doesn't make sense that he'd randomly do that out of nowhere for no purpose other than that, and explains his intricate understanding of the universe.
@@RagnarokMic also given the fact station was never mentioned at all in the entire movie even though they were pivotal to the wyld stallions in BJ
They have said in interviews that the endcredits stuff of Bogus Journey is not canon anymore. Im fine with that as it makes the trilogy make more sense
During the random zoom music sessions at the end, Weird Al can be seen playing accordion.
I enjoyed that they synchronized the watch to the end of the movie.
I actually got my Dad to watch Bill & Ted 3 with me last night, and he really enjoyed it. Which is awesome because he always got so annoyed when I'd watch the first one as a kid. 🤣 Full circle, dude.😎
Oh, and when Bill and Ted ran into their older selves and chased them around an old hotel, the laundry mat area of the hotel and joining rooms, looked familiar to me. It looked like the police precinct in the first movie. Could have been shot in the same place, or just a coincidence that it looks familiar to me.
I Thought Bill's Daughter Is Margot Robbie!
Ha ha me too.
@@stevenvensko5789 Great! HAHA!
Thought rumor was his real daughter play as rafus daughter.
The more I think about this movie the better it is.
also the last number they dial from the phone booth begins w/ "69" !!
You didn't mention the three smiley faces across Old Ted's shirt when you went over the parallels. I see it as one smiley face for every movie. But in all honesty I didn't notice the smiley face guitar strap until I saw this video lol
Yes they did.
i really liked the Missy development, i thought that was a nice touch
This movie was the Return of The King of comedy.
Ok biggest plot hole I noticed was Dennis kills the future dad and when the future dad is brought back to life he is brought back to the present when the present dad is still alive. However, this could have been solved when they played the song and the universe was set right.
Loved this movie
In case you missed the whole. Central. Plot. Here's a video...
It's nice to see a video about Bill and Ted Face the Music that doesn't spend 10 minutes of the run time complaining about Star Wars and Ghostbusters.
Loved the third Bill and Ted
this movie is literally a part of history now!
I was worried when it came out. Me and my family watched it and absolutely loved it. It made me laugh out loud several times.
I think the girls need their own movie now.
Please no
👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
They were funny to me
@@rasheedjeffries5754 I agree.
They have their dads mannerisms down pat, this movie gives me so much nostalgia. Reminds me when I was a kid and first saw these awsome Bill and Ted excellent adventure and bill and Ted bogus journey. The daughters crack me up and it would be a crime to not give them their own movie.
While 'watching' this...I realized that the Circle K sign looks like a clock.
Who knew that Bill and Ted were actually the Evil Bill and Evil Ted
3:55-4:58 just because it was released in 2020
Dos not mean it's set in 2020
Station!
starts off as thinks you might have missed if you fell asleep to just the plot that if you seen the movie, you know
No one ever forgets Slash and his Top Hat..and eternal schmoke.
Also not sure if it was unintentional talking about how the costume designed dressed future bill and ted in the mansion to look like Van Halen, but the first Bill and Ted they referenced getting Eddie Van Halen on guitar with them at the opening and closing of the movie.
I personally love this movie, I watched it once at the theater, and I bought it at home and I watch it often. I’ve seen it 6 or 7 times. Great video of what I might of missed, but not one mention of Dennis Caleb McCoy 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
beautiful Deep
Dave sporting an upside down Crucifix wow
I was a little upset that the stations and the robot us-es weren't in the movie. They were part of the original band. I think the movie was most excellent , bit it should be twice as long and cover more of the lore. Lots of missed opportunities, great things left out and forgotten about, and why did they forget the time game? It could have been useful right ? Lol
I would like for another one
Smiley face is a watchman reference. The comedian
The pink shirt for Ted has to go down as literally the worst costume decision in the history of the fucking world. I mean my god, you don't give a guy as pale as Prof Snape a fucking pink outfit.
Thought they should have played Clue with Death again, and robot was stupid
I want to see this movie so bad!
Be excellent to each other!!!!!
Their music was also the basis for future society
Small detail the writers missed: the ending of Bogus Journey.
I got 10 UA-cam advertisements during this video.
In what way are these MAJOR PLOT POINTS "small details that you missed"? Also one mistake, Death has Wyld Stallyuns merchandise because when he went solo he used the band name, not from missing anyone. Heck, maybe the video should have pointed out that his going solo was shown in a magazine article in the end credits of Bogus Journey, that would have been a small detail people may have missed.
I couldn't figure out what was supposed to make more sense at the end of the story.
Well I try to watch all the movies 😂😉 but to many my phone won't work 😒😣
How can you miss the first one? Ted’s father literally addresses it in the first scene.
Wow so Dave ghroul showed up
I was hoping they used a little refrance to the cartoon.
Keep doing what you doing:)
STATIIIOOOONNN!!
Life imitating Art
Good movie, I laughed a lot. But the was no mention of Iron Maiden, their favorite band.
They could also have seen Rufus in the past even if it not played by Carlin, maybe.
But do miss they not mentioning Iron Maiden.
how many times did they mention maiden in the original films?
I think maybe once or twice
They never once said Iron Maiden was their favourite band
Lark Druid once
They never even said Iron Maiden themselves, just said 'excellent' when threatened to be put in one
7:28 what? Never heard of Steel Panther? This bit was needless, we're at the point where all styles are welcome, including the ridiculous ^-^
You guys couldn't fit any more ads in the video?
It lived up to the previous Bill & Ted. But to say it was great would be overstated. There is nothing different about it from the previous, they're not trying to do more here.
But I do love how the SFX have grown. I felt this is the way Bill & Ted is supposed to be enjoyed with their very imaginative set pieces.
My complaint would be Ted felt out of place. Keanu acting in this, seems too matured for Ted. Ted felt different to me, not the Ted we knew. Even his expression is more serious and not goofy like Ted of before. Simply put, he spoke in Ted's character, but the expression is the opposite of it. I almost thought Ted will be the matured guy in this movie and makes more sensible suggestions or actions. But the movie still give that sensible role to Bill instead.
I think Ted is supposed to be the sensible one. he's the one that thinks that they might not write the song and need to move on and get real jobs. Then they get sucked back into the future shenanigans. I think what Keanu was going for was a more mature ted and not just a teenage Ted in grown-up clothes.
Another comment by someone unable to grow up and pass the torch.
@@lukegrraaa honestly, I think they just a different opinion man, I saw ted as the sensible one and they saw bill as the sensible one, I feel like that's just a matter of opinion. not really a measure of character in any sense.
Keanus smoking for 20 plus years killed his voice. It sounded like someone doing a bad impression of ted. Alex winter on the other hand still pulled off his bill character. Same voice and mannerisms and acting and he actually resembles his old self more than keanu. Keanu sounded and looked old. Dont smoke folks. I agree with the orignal post.
@@ReesesCupsAreGood Thank you. But the voice doesn't break it for me. I think maybe the way he move as Ted also seems old. Not energetic as it was. His mannerism.
also did you notice that there wives were the opposite colors?
So glad Kid Cutti had a very small role. I like rap, but having rap in this movie what have been most heinous!
I was wondering WTF that was about. There sure were a lot of celebrity cameos.
1:50..."see you in Hell"..So Funny
I hated face the music but im glad most people enjoyed it !
I'm sad that you didn't enjoy it, but it's really nice to see that you are still happy for those who did :) How incredibly refreshing in a youtube comment. Party on dude !
The amount of adds make me want to go back in time and take back all the time I’ve spent watching adds imagine making an add to go back in time to get back all the time you’ve spent watching adds would you eventually not watch the add about watching adds to go back in time to get back all the time you’ve spent watching adds
You missed the point of this B version screenplay. The other version was destroyed for various reasons. It had some different songs and alternate storyline.
It really did seem very different from what they were promoting for years. They promised up and down this was not going to be the movie it ended up becoming.
Bill and Ted: DAVE GROHL!!!!
If you have not seen the movie wait to watch this. It gives the whole movie away. @TomCruise
Kid Cudi is a station alien.
People seem to disagree on that point, but I felt that was the suggestion too.
we love you...
dude...you do it wrong.
