Interesting video, thanks. You mention that you have a Tiger 800 (me too) and I’d be interested in any direct comparison thoughts you have. Cheers, John
Your reviews are getting better each time. Id dismissed the v2 in favour of the v4s, but may have to have a rethink , could be one of these or the ktm 1290 sas, the v4s is out of my price bracket
You mentioned the Norden! If you weren't going to ever go off-road but have a crappy/bumpy road commute including freeway would you go Norden or V2S? I was considering and can afford the V4S but I don't really need anything that big at all, I just turned 40 and want good comfy fun with decent wind blockage. Let me know which you vote! Great vid as always!
Thanks, if you sticking to the tarmac I’d go with the V2s. I’m the same, I loved riding the Multi V4, but the V2 is cheaper to buy, cheaper to run and still lots of fun
Beautiful bike , tested well as usual. Best point for me about that bike, is the centre stand !. Wonder what intervals the cambelts have to be changed at ?.
Good & informative review. I’d like to hear your thoughts on this bike vs the Triumph 900 & the Yamaha Tracer GT. Are they direct competitors in your view?
Great review. As you rode also the Vstrom 1050XT, I wonder what is the engine power feel on both bikes. :) I mean if you compare them. Thanks mate. Keep up.
@@mancavemoto My 2000 VFR just died of old age & I'm looking for something to replace it. It was a REAL space heater & the extent that I had to romove all the lower cowlings. I guess anytime you have a rear firing cylinder it's going to be a bit of an issue
Touring option on the V2S is £1,200 GBP here in Au. Panniers aside it doesn't say what one gets for that tho. We tend not to need heated grips. Wondering how much extra it is in the UK?
By adding a mra variable screen this reduces the screen noise not 100% but a significant amount. Having a v2 as a loan bike while my 1260s is in for service may i swap for 950s ??? Grate review 😊
Thanks, great review. Can you help. I’ve got an Interceptor which I really like. Looking to step up. Want a bike with plenty of room, not cramped. Nice exhaust note, had a go on Z650RS but sound was bland. Thinking of Tracer or Tiger 660 or MS if I push the boat out. Just not sure whether to go with a bike with a screen, see so many reviews where screen gives more buffeting which I don’t want; could put up with a bit of wind noise. Should I stick with a naked?? Like the look of XSR900. Id appreciate your thoughts and suggestions on which to test ride, not easy as dealers don’t always have a demo in
Thanks Beverley, the whole screen No screen is a tough decision sometimes, but if you are riding longer distances or in poor weather it does make a big difference. You also have to be careful how people describe things. There is a difference between buffeting and wind noise, and whilst screens will generally produce the latter, not many create any problematic buffeting. It really depends on your height and the helmet you wear, but going for a bike with an adjustable screen means you’re likely to get a quiet ride. The screen on the MS is good, most Hondas I’ve tried have very effective screens as do Tigers.
G’day from Australia, mate can I just ask quick question, i’m deciding between the Ducati Multi V2s and the Harley Sport Glide, both bikes you have reviewed (which I have watched many times:) It’s really hard to get bikes here to test ride so essentially all I can go by are reviews online. I’m after a bike that has a comfortable ride/suspension that I can just go for an hour ride on weekends, I don't really go that fast, just cruise around at 50km around the farming areas where I live. In your opinion which bike do you think might fit the brief the best? I have sat on both bikes and both were really comfortable. The Ducati has lots more safety feature, but I read that it doesn’t like going that slow and prefers to be going fast, did you think it was ok as slow speeds? The negative with the Sort glide is people said the rear suspension was too firm and gave back troubles. I’d grateful appreciate any feedback you can pass on. I love the channel so subscribed, have a great Christmas. Cheers Andrew
Thanks Andrew, yep these are quite different bikes. From the sounds of what you want it for either will do, but the Sportglide would maybe be the way to go. The Ducati is fine at slow speed, and I dont think the sportglide rear suspension is too firm, but thats easily remedied anyway
Had a test ride as potential downside from my BMW r1200GSA. The bike is fantastic BUT the screen was a thing of torture for me at motorway speeds (I commute). Also the desmo valve service s £1000 at 18k miles. However, I have still worked out the servicing is about the same as than the BMW overall at the same distance. I am now researching screens and if I can find a convincing answer then it is likely going to be the next bike.
Great review, thank you. I'm looking to down size from my R1250GS. The NT1100 is not quite there for me yet. Honda could have done a much better job with the paint work colours and some electronic suspension would have been great also. Maybe in a year or two. Onto the Ducati which is on my radar, love everything about the bike but have reservations about the front down pipe corroding. I've seen a few one / two year old Multi's parked-up and they seem to be looking a bit "tatty" , down pipe looking grotty and some corrosion starting on fasteners etc. Is this a concern for yourself?
Yep I would agree the NT1100 is a decent bike, but it’s not there for me either. I only had the Ducati for two weeks, so not something I would have picked up on myself. It could just be down to how well the bikes have been looked after?
as usual great video and very informative? however, a suggestion no one else seems to talk about reliability, this has a big influence on buying almost anything land rovers are stunning but i won't buy one simply because of the owner's reviews and remarks. Ducati KTM and even BMW have some issues with reliability. so on a scale of 1 being best and 10 don't buy it where do the bikes come, just an idea.
Hi Mick, Only having a bike a bike for, at most, a couple of weeks to review is why I suspect no one talks about reliability. If a bike has trouble whilst I’ve got it I’ll mention it, but I can’t talk about the long term ownership experience. Interestingly I own a KTM and a Land Rover, both of which are, if you go by online comments, terribly unreliable. But in tens of thousands of miles I’ve had no reliability issues with either. So i agree its a good idea to mentioned reliability, but that case only be done on long term owners reviews in my opinion.
Looking for a motorcycle with electronic suspension to cope with the rapidly deteriorating macadam where I live and with which I can travel in comfort without sacrificing too much performance (I come from a sports-tourer with 140hp). As I'm not the tallest guy seat height is an important aspect. I'm following your reviews for clues as I'm undecided between the MS V2S, the new Africa Twin with the 19" front wheel and the KTM 1290 SAS which you highly praised in your review, sooner or later I'll have to come around to try them all. Regards
I have a 950S which I love anything a short arse (5ft 8 / 29inch leg) it is a challenge remove around. However o r question - what GoPro mount do you use on the Harold as I can't find a decent one. Thanks for the review;)
@@flexywing sadly no I don’t have it anymore. It was superb apart from servicing and spares costs. I had to replace the fuel sender unit and the cooling fan. But as a bike to ride it was probably the best I have owned. If it’s not too tall and you can do your own servicing or afford dealer costs, I strongly recommend one.
Is that a rear camera or is there another person filming you from behind? A motorcycle that almost short people friendly. I want to buy a Ducati someday. For now, I stick with my V-Star 950 Tourer.
Another nice video, thanks for sharing. I do agree, it sounds slightly rattly down low, but still a nice looking machine. Would you pay £15k+ for this though? 😬
Great review, very in tune with the things that riders want to know. However, I have one question. This bike costs £15,500 so its expensive. Why are manufacturers still fitting cigar lighters to motorbikes ? They should be fitting double or quad USB connections as standard. How long are riders going to accept this ?
Thanks for your kind words, much appreciated. I still find those power points useful. Lots of accessories like GPS and particularly heated gear come with that connection, so I find it really useful. USB sockets for example don’t have the power needed for heated jackets and gloves as an example.
Lots of used bikes I’ve seen have had the socket removed and replaced with a USB. Just wondering what is the point of that when an adaptor gives you both options?
@@aunoates6617 I use my powerlet for a compressor. Some bikes are coming with both now. V-strom 1050 has usb one side 12v socket the other. Best just to add a USB socket rather than replacing the 12v socket.
Thank you for this incredible video, I really enjoyed it so much. I´m from Argentina, my height is 6.2f. Can you tell me please yours? (to compare) and what do you think about "tall" riders in relation to this beautiful bike?. Best!!!

Point being they move between camps every few years over in dear old Switzerland. Pretty pricey 'bag of nails' for a retiree. I just Potter about on my CB500F. Only nails it gets are in the rear tyre.
As a short arse 5’ 8” with a bum knee, should I Chuck my (heavy to me) R1250 GS in for one? I know I need to test ride one but will I miss the power of my GS?
Excellent review, Tony. Is this the engine that doesn't have the desmodronic valves? It looks nice for an adventure bike. Nice-looking/sounding exhaust. Keeping the cat out of the way is a great idea. Not cheap with all the touring extras. It would certainly be fast enough for me.
I was really hoping Ducati would’ve updated the front end styling, more akin to the V4, those flared beaks never did it for me, constantly making me think it’s doing its best interpretation of a Native Pacific Northwest tribe’s totem pole bird figurine. The old 1260 had this styling oddity too but at least the new V4 moves away from it. Other than the styling and well of course, the higher price…this does seem to be a fantastic middleweight option for those that don’t want the heft and physical size of a large bore ADV but still want some oomph. But then again, with the sort of power figures and trick suspension on the S model, it’s also kind of a stand out in the middleweight category. I’m in the market for a middleweight ADV/Sports Tourer and ahh…this bike IS tempting…that beak though! 😅
4 years unlimited mileage warranty ! Got same warranty on my 950s 10k miles and it never skipped a beat, and I give it a beating every time ! Hope that’s cleared it up 😎
I want to help you improve your reviews. You need to not be so I like this or i like that. You need to be subjective in a way that compares it to its competition. How does it compare to the new Honda 1100 with DCT or not DCT. How does it compare to the Kawasaki Verses or the Suzuki or Triumph in the areas of Size, comfort price, suspension and control. Handling and braking. If you don’t do it in regard to other bikes, then what good is your review? How could someone watch this and use it to help them make any decision about what to do or what to expect. You might as well not even posted anything. Because its not a review its a ride. A review is a subjective comparison.
Thanks for your feedback, and in response I would I would disagree with your closing statement. A review and a comparison are two different things. I’m always objective in my reviews and each bike is reviewed on its own merits. To say it’s all ‘I like this it I like that’ suggests that you haven’t watched the reviews in detail. People seem get a lot from the reviews based on the comments I see, and I don’t see that a review has to be purely a comparison. I do where relevant put an element up against another bike, but it doesn’t have to be a key part of the video. Thanks for watching, but I suspect that given my format you won’t be watching any more, and that’s fine my style is just not for you.
Been watching motorcycle video reviews for many years, this review and the reviewer is the best I've seen. Thank you.

Anyway, thank's for the lovely video & all of your efforts in bringing these video's to us. Have a beautiful day! Your friend from across the pond!! Illinois, USA
No problem Larry, good to hear from you I hope you’re keeping well.
An awesome review, very insightful and well explained. 👍😎🇦🇺
Thanks Marcus
love your bike reviews and for sure this machine is a dream (what I know a bit maintenance pricy, but what manufacturer is cheap these days), must to be blast to own one of those, thnx V!
Yep, but as you say all dealer servicing can be pricy. Most bike services that need a valve check will be costly.
Interesting video, thanks. You mention that you have a Tiger 800 (me too) and I’d be interested in any direct comparison thoughts you have.
Cheers,
John
Deposit down last Saturday. End of July arrival 🤞thanks for helping me to raid the piggy bank. Feels good👍🏻🤪
Nice, glad to be of some help!
@@mancavemoto bought a 2017 950 late last year. Loved it but couldn’t resist the upgrade. Great vid, chat and riding. Thanks again brother👍🏻😁
So update on delivery yesterday. Now looking at November. Looks like the supply chain malarkey hitting Ducati too. Hey ho, can but wait😳😆
Hi there seriously thinking of getting one of these, Just wondering how you got on and if there were issues. You still got it?
Merci pour la vidéo et les infos🤞🤞
de rien!
Your reviews are getting better each time. Id dismissed the v2 in favour of the v4s, but may have to have a rethink , could be one of these or the ktm 1290 sas, the v4s is out of my price bracket
Thanks Jon, i'm not dismissing the V4, but this could be all anyone would ever need?
The V4 poor fuel range some wiring harnessing and evap system problems the V2 better in most respects and is $28.4K in Aus (V2ST) with topbox.
Nice one Tony!
Thanks 👍
You mentioned the Norden! If you weren't going to ever go off-road but have a crappy/bumpy road commute including freeway would you go Norden or V2S? I was considering and can afford the V4S but I don't really need anything that big at all, I just turned 40 and want good comfy fun with decent wind blockage. Let me know which you vote! Great vid as always!
Thanks, if you sticking to the tarmac I’d go with the V2s. I’m the same, I loved riding the Multi V4, but the V2 is cheaper to buy, cheaper to run and still lots of fun
Is there an option to fit a trunk?
Thanks so much for the video
No worries!
Great review. How round or elastic is the engine in very low revs? Thx.
I find it to be a pretty flexible engine at low revs
Beautiful bike , tested well as usual. Best point for me about that bike, is the centre stand !. Wonder what intervals the cambelts have to be changed at ?.
30.000 km or 5 years
Does it have dual heated seats?
It doesn’t have them as standard and I can’t see them on the options list either
Good & informative review. I’d like to hear your thoughts on this bike vs the Triumph 900 & the Yamaha Tracer GT. Are they direct competitors in your view?
Thanks Mark, yes I think they are although I've not had an opportunity to ride the new Tracer yet.
Great review. As you rode also the Vstrom 1050XT, I wonder what is the engine power feel on both bikes. :) I mean if you compare them. Thanks mate. Keep up.
The Ducati feels more immediate on the throttle, it spins up a little easier
@@mancavemoto Thanks man. Appreciate your answer.
Can you change the riding mode on the go?
Yes you can 👍
Love the bike~ does the rear cylinder run hot? Does it throw some heat on your leg? Thank you from Las Vegas
It does throw a little heat, but not that much if i'm being honest. It's pretty good in that respect
@@mancavemoto My 2000 VFR just died of old age & I'm looking for something to replace it. It was a REAL space heater & the extent that I had to romove all the lower cowlings. I guess anytime you have a rear firing cylinder it's going to be a bit of an issue
@@mancavemoto Does it throw heat at a particular spot on your leg (that can be a real problem) or just all over
Multis seem to depreciate fast. Something to factor into cost of ownership, along with servicing?
Ducati must extend further more the front fender to protect the radiator.
Any comparison to the BMW S1000XR?
I've not ridden one yet, but I'm hoping too soon.
Touring option on the V2S is £1,200 GBP here in Au. Panniers aside it doesn't say what one gets for that tho. We tend not to need heated grips.
Wondering how much extra it is in the UK?
Its in the video, the 'Travel' pack includes the Panniers, heated grips and centre stand for £1182
By adding a mra variable screen this reduces the screen noise not 100% but a significant amount. Having a v2 as a loan bike while my 1260s is in for service may i swap for 950s ??? Grate review 😊
Yep, it would be something I’d look at if I owned one. Thanks
@@mancavemoto thank you for info.
Btw anymore vids on mods to Interceptor coming up??
@@mancavemoto Thank you, I really appreciate the reply, I hope you had a nice Christmas.
The Goldilocks Multi in my opinion.... And a proper Ducati with an L-Twin engine that just sings...... !
I really like it
can see relection in wondscreen ..heard at night the dogital display is bright and relects
LEt us know how you get on with the screens
Hi there seriously thinking of getting one of these, Just wondering how you got on and if there were issues. If you did buy one of course
As a 20+ year Ducati owner, the key is to keep it clean and dry after a ride - which I realize may be an issue in the U.K.
as usual great video and very informative? however, a suggestion no one else seems to talk about reliability, this has a big influence on buying almost anything land rovers are stunning but i won't buy one simply because of the owner's reviews and remarks.
Regards
Three seriously good bikes on your list, and i'd be happy with any of them!
@@mancavemoto Any preference, though?
Africa Twin for me
I have a 950S which I love anything a short arse (5ft 8 / 29inch leg) it is a challenge remove around.
However o r question - what GoPro mount do you use on the Harold as I can't find a decent one.
Thanks for the review;)
I use a Ulanzi UURIG R060 clamp that has so far been very reliable
Hi there seriously thinking of getting one of these, Just wondering how you got on and if there were issues. You still got it?
@@flexywing sadly no I don’t have it anymore. It was superb apart from servicing and spares costs. I had to replace the fuel sender unit and the cooling fan. But as a bike to ride it was probably the best I have owned. If it’s not too tall and you can do your own servicing or afford dealer costs, I strongly recommend one.
Is that a rear camera or is there another person filming you from behind? A motorcycle that almost short people friendly.
I want to buy a Ducati someday. For now, I stick with my V-Star 950 Tourer.
Its a 360 camera mounted on a pole
Another nice video, thanks for sharing. I do agree, it sounds slightly rattly down low, but still a nice looking machine.
Would you pay £15k+ for this though? 😬
Thanks. I don’t have £15.5k to spend on any bike 😉 but there is some decent kit on it to be fair
Best!!!
Thanks, I’m 5ft 10in, but it think it will be roomy enough for taller riders
@@mancavemoto Thank you man.
Great video as always. Feels like an opinion I can trust. Shame it's chain driven, otherwise it would be on my shortlist.
Be even heavier with a shaft drive and it's already on the heavy side.
Thanks for the review. New sub😊
Currently I ride the Triumph Street Triple RS, am looking to trade it in for this V2S and get into the Ducati world as well.
Keen to know your thoughts on this. Please reply.
Cheers.
Thanks for the sub. As you can tell from the video I really like this bike and if you want to buy in to a brand, Ducati is a great one to go for.
My brother has an 1190 KTM which he's wrapped in after having owned a recalcitrant BMW and a Multistrada
His partner rides a KTM 790.
I dont think you will to be honest
@@mancavemoto Picked new V2S up in Feb. Much prefer it to the GS. Goldilocks bike for me

@@flexywingI think my reply to you got deleted lol. Yeah great bike. Buy one
Which bike do you prefer your own triumph 900 or the Ducati? What's the difference between them?
I own a KTM 790 adventure.
Stunning bike, but twice the cost of my Trident so I’ll never be able to justify one
No, it’s a lovely bike, but it’s not cheap. You do get quite a bit for your money though
Desmo engine, valve check every 18,000 miles (30000km).
Ducati poderia me dar uma de presente de Natal 🤩
Papai Noel deixou um debaixo da árvore para você?
Expensive, but worth it!
Its a beauty!
I think it looks like the red angry bird
Yeah, I’m not a fan of beaks and this one is just short enough to get away with it for me.
@@chrishart8548 oh God…please someone paint the beak on this bike yellow 🤣
Desmo service is too expensive.

The v4 is awesome but gets terrible mpgs
I heard the bike cooks the bum and legs. How's the bike in low summer traffic?
It’s not too bad, a bit of heat on the right hand side
adventure tourer must be reliable....
Is there any evidence to suggest these are not reliable?
very informative; would a 6 '2" rider not like the lower seat position? who cares about short people - let them get a trike - LOL
depends on the length of their legs i guess
I got mine for €2000.....oh, sorry, it's a cagiva navigator....same, same, but different...
Perfect to get you from one service to the other ...and you will spend a lot time repairing it
4 years unlimited mileage warranty !
