Technically, Sweden uses the "Stridsvagn 122". It is a completely Swedish-made variant of the Leopard 2, but it is more heavily armored and uses different internal systems. It is more like a cousin of the Leopard 2 in that sense.
It's a modified A5 if I remember it right.

The greateat strenght is that all systems are (if givet permission) all integrated to one another in real time. If a Gripen or anything in the air sees something, the AI will notify nearby Stridsvagn 122 etc instantly and vice versa. Most of our doctrine are based around small groups working independent, but now AI will aslo make it co operating. All units will basically see everything relevant on a digital map like in a video game, and the personell are trained to take their own descisions, saving critical time from descision making.
SAAB posted a great video about it last summer, when demonstrating the new generation Gripen.

Some propaganda, some facts. Gripen is made for war. Not for show. Swedish str122 and cv-90 is really liked of ukraine soldiers. Archer is in top too. Our sub sunk Reagan in ONE training exercise. The SAAB Gripin is an old plane from 1988. Now the swedes are working on a new version (the "next generation" called Gripen NG) The Gripin is a very versatile aircraft and can work as a fighter plane, fighter-bomber and a reconnaissance plane. The real advantage of the Gripin is that it can land and take off from a ordinary highway and only needs a very short strip to do so. It can change between its functions in about 15 minutes directly on a highway. The swedes regards the Gripin as better than the F16 ..

Sounds funny. Especially because Russia sees no reason and no wish to invade Sweden. But, Swedish army is the most army powerful in the whole world, indeed. I remember those brave men and women have confused a flock of farting herring with a Russian submarine a couple of years ago.
And yet Russia has threatened Sweden on several occasions not to join NATO, and they also invaded Ukraine...for what reason? So it's not like Russia is trustworthy in any way, at least not while Putin holds the power.

Pronouncing "Gripen" almost like "Gripping" really gives off the wrong vibes. "Gripen" is Swedish and means "The Griffon" (the mythical Griffon animal/beast). So either pronounce "Gripen" better, or just call it "Griffon" instead, because "Gripen" doesn't have anything to do with getting a grip on things...

That was the situation 10 years ago, before rearmament started. We didn't even have enough missiles to arm each Gripen for a single combat mission. The situation is now very different.

This is one of the most ridiculous videos ive ever seen. 120 tanks, 3 subs and a handfull of JAS against the Russian army. It would take the Russians less then a few hours to take Sweden and 99% of them wouldnt even see anything of the Swedish defences.

Truth is we are bordered with Finland and unlike Sweden that didn't defund their military. As long as that border stands strong which I think it will due to couple of factors. Russia wouldn't be able to send a single ship to Sweden, it will get shot down long before they reach Sweden.
