You are correct. It is so simple, too. Russia withdraws from Ukraine completely, including Crimea, and returns full control to the Ukrainian government, aka the people. Then Russia begins payment for every element of physical destruction to Ukraine due to its attack, and an international tribunal assesses what life in Ukraine is worth that was either killed or injured by Russia and puts that on the restoration bill of Russia to Ukraine. The international retribution tribunal then begins to collect the debt due from Russia to Ukraine. Very simple.

If you look at military planning for invasion, Hungary is a very flat area between two more mountainous regions to the north and south. In fact, throughout its history, the most invaded country in Europe. Comparison to the Fulda gap during the Cold War is to be noted.

People of Kosovo did not want to live in Yugoslavia/Serbia and Europeans were quick to acknowledge their right to self-determination on the historic Serbian land. If you stand for democracy, then how come you do not want to take into account the will of Crimean and Donbass population? Don't you see the double standards here? Democracy means people decide everything. So ask people and follow their will. I know you may say that Russia should make a similar poll among the Chechen people. It's possible to do also.

But the speaker made the point about security guarantees. Russia has not and in my view never will attack a NATO member. So the key to making a lasting peace is giving Ukraine strong credible security guarantees, de facto but not de jure NATO membership. The obvious answer is to do what you do in South Korea, post a small number of NATO troops in Ukraine post-war so that any Russian attack would generate casualties. This would effectively force direct NATO involvement and deter a Russian attack. Even the Trump plan involves a wholesale modernisation of the Ukrainian military post peace. Peace advocates are not blind to the risks of future war. You need to frame a peace so that it lasts. Ukraine lacks the manpower for a large scale offensive and the global political climate is changing- support for parties who support a compromise peace is growing (Trump will probably win the US election. The next president of France, the EUs leading military power, will either be from the left or right- neither of whom are as pro-Ukraine as Macron). If you just rule out any compromise as a matter of principle you just condemning Ukraine to defeat

There is no way Ukraine agrees to giving up territory. Even if the US no longer gives aid, the Europeans still do. The US these past years has gotten Ukraine over the hard times while the Europeans have gotten up to speed. They will be providing simple ammunition, shells, planes, tanks, clothing, money. Europe and the US have about the same GDP. Both the Europeans and Ukrainians can do this. Puny Russia can't defeat them.

Why does Hungary find it useful for itself to constantly provoke? Could someone explain this to me? (I'm Czech, not Ukrainian.) What does the Hungarian position bring/can bring to this country? Is there something else behind this, other than just some hope of changing the borders in favor of Hungary with Putin's help?

Completely wrong, Hungary has taken in over a million Ukrainian refugees, but many of them moved onwards to the west due to higher benefits. Also consider that the Brussels far left elite and their donors have been out for Orban's blood since well before the war (due to his stance on immigration and LGBTQ propaganda), Orban doesn't have a lot of cards he can play against them, but veto, China and Russia.
