Love this video. I was never able to afford a gym membership, medical bills etc before I hit my goal. I wanted 50k but ended up getting 63k. My life changed forever. I can order grocery delivery, got to the best gyms, and take vacations without worrying about bills.

Bro I cant even fathom $75k. I just got offered a job making $20/hr as a technical analyst after working 6 months as a remote technician making $13/hr & I felt like a millionaire 😂.
If they’re paying you 20 they are Atleast making 3 or 4 times that off of you
My brother went through that literally. At the bus wearing Scrubs coming from school and another black man said to my brother "you think you're better than me cause you go to school?" My brother never said a word to anyone. He was just waiting for the bus.

I was a barber from 2010 to 2022( age 25-37) I’m on week two of training for tier 1 service desk analyst. It took 8 months of applying and doing interviews to get the first role. My next goal within the next 9 months is to get my ccna and apply for network administration. I served in the navy from 2003-2009. Definitely should’ve went into IT after the military over being a barber!!

Start at Amazon as a warehouse associate making 12-14hr. At the time, I was 24, and I thought this was not enough for me. I went on to get my AS, BS, and currently finishing my MS in Cybersecurity & privacy. Bounce around from different IT agencies such as InsightGlobal, E-Team, etc. After working for all those IT agencies, I finally landed my first SOC role, making 75k. I left some details out too much to write😎

It's refreshing to see another Black Man shooting for the stars. I started IT in college back in 2019 when I was 34 years old. Fastrack now from helpdesk for a few years and now going to finish my MS CYB in another year. Your words, your experience, and drive motivate me. I hear alot of folks around me saying I wasted time and money on education living in Ohio while laughing. But you reaffirmed that I need to just keep goin, get certifications which I am preparing for now. Thanks for your Words sir!

recently got my helpdesk role, in hindsight I'm glad I took it because its teaching me a little bit of everything even though its lower paying, ill use this for my first security role.

@TechTual Chatter This just blessed me so much. I recently started my IT HelpDesk journey in February, at a new job. I was previously in a position where I had some HD exposure, but was viewed as though I wasn't capable. This is not my final destination. I am definitely interested in Cybersecurity and plan to do alot of self study. I did not go to school for an IT career, but learned so many things on the job.

Just got my first box position and I’m nervous. Help desk for 6 years but to add to the sport analogy the hardest part is getting there. Like winning a championship in anything once you go to defend it you’re 30 percent better (per Daniel Cormier)

I haven’t hit the 75k but just 58k made a difference. I still want to get higher but I know I’m blessed because I know where I come from.
That’s how I used to feel when I made 40k but when I moved I learned I could attain more
I can’t wait until I get there. I just graduated school in April of this year and I got my first Security role but only for 55k. I been applying for jobs for better pay but keep getting rejection letters. I’ll love to gain more experience because I don’t feel like I’m doing any cybersecurity work in my current role. Great Vid!

I’m going to look further into SOC analyst. I just want a position I can work from home. I know I’ll excel in any way I go with I.T/cybersecurity. I just want to get out the medical field.

I really like your videos. I'm 22 now, working in Help Desk. And I saw a video where you explained how you were in HD at 22. but, I've been curious about NOC, SOC, Net Admin and Sys Admin for my next step. I was just wondering, what all credentials had you had by this point when you entered SOC?
I had a security plus and a degree but I don’t think that helped me that much

The most I ever made was $3k a week very briefly, arguing with the govt, employers To raise wages AINT IT. When you have a skill THEY need, it shifts the whole dynamic and now the leverage stick is somewhat in your hands.... #FavorAintFair

I am starting my journey to be a soc currently studying certs and buildings labs. What you say is the most important cert to obtain, currently only have Net+ and studying sec and cysa along with blueteam level.

Don’t sleep on NOC, they all aren’t the same and there rarely if ever like how ur first experience was lol and I get it SOC, cybersecurity etc are the sexier roles, but there’s no SOC without a NOC- like literally
