The nuclear annihilation to me seems more like a end times myth that never got realized instead of a real possibility. But the things I think are relatable and could easily happen are the themes of social engineering and militant technocratic rule. There is always a possibility that information and technology can be lost after any societal transformation, and the preservation of that information would be left to a priest class.

This song has always left me with that eerie feeling. Like...it's always left me feeling that as the world slowly enters slow-motion, the bombs begin to drop, the siren's familiar racket has become distorted in your head, and the ambience from the night sky have merged to form the world's cruel end soundtrack. And when the drums come in, you get that feeling that the Old World is trying to remain patriotic, and return to its roots. I love this song.

For me, this song always seemed like a tribute to the victims of the mass genocide of the Great War. First you hear the actual sirens that were going off in the Fallout Universe's United States when the bombs fell. Like ghosts of the fallen, echoing the past. Then spirits of the Fallout Universe's US Armed forces play the the drums from beyond the grave. Symbolizing what once was. This song depresses me evry time i hear it. It's likei can hear the screaming and hollaring of the victims. Scrambling to the vaults.

This was just the overall mood of 2020.
When everything bad that could possibly happen was happening, this is what I listened to while I was doom scrolling. That fear, anxiety and depression is nothing like an actual war, but it still ripped me apart on the inside. Being stuck inside, not knowing where was safe, who you could trust, who you should listen to, and just holding onto what seemed like the tiniest micro shred of hope sometimes was very difficult. Makes me grateful to see that even though evil is still always out there, there's always a chance for positive change and not just doom after this part of life happened.

This track always gave me these fictional visions about the past right before the nuclear war. The sirens gave me a melancholy feeling as I thought about how terrifying it must’ve been to be in that moment. Also, the faint drums signified a once proud and powerful nation that withered away so quickly due to something so destructive. For me, that is the reason it’s so beautiful. I like to imagine this track embodies the scene of decaying ruins in fallout and when the snare drums fade in the brotherhood of steel marches thru vaporizes some mutants and continues patrolling until they're out of sight while the snares dissipate and the same desolate siren echoes out like nothing's changed in the world.

When I hear this song it makes me think of the chaos and bloodshed of the Great War. Riots, buildings on fire, scared screaming civilians, the air raid siren left on, burning police cars, uncoordinated soldiers with no orders from a central command trying desperately to bring order, gunfire form civilians and soldiers. The soldiers debating in their heads to abandon their duty to find their surviving love ones.

This track gives me the feel of loss and an image of what once was.
The brotherhood are all ex Military: rebelling against their duty for the betterment of their brothers and humanity with protection of their kind.
Yet they were still American troops, the drums and buildup of them showing that might and determination like you could visualise them marching forward in that atomic pea soup away from Mariposa with their families to better lives, truly a beautiful piece of music.

Sucks that this faction gets to be so annoying in the later games, especially Bethesdas version of fallout. I hate them so much they're so lame but in the earlier Fallouts I'll admit they're atleast worth talking to and research on.

During the intro credits would be awesome, like a Walking Dead type of deal. Showing remnants of the old, destroyed world and cool stuff like that. I would love to see a show about what happened more in the Capital Wasteland and New Vegas. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts would be cool too from Fallout 4, but it doesn't have a level of significance to the world as the old Washington, D.C. would.

I've read the comments in this and there's something I can't understand. If listening to this reminds you of the real world and it's problems which to their right is very close to the problems and issues from in-universe, but why listen to it? Apparently it gives people bad thoughts about the future and overall anxiety. I listen to it because it's a greatly composed piece of music that makes me think about those cool 80s post apocalyptic movies. Just relax.
