@tympt1 Thanks for the encouragement Baz but I really hope ours will only take 1year. It'll have to start paying for it's self ASAP. 20 years sound more like the time frame we've got on our own house, I've had to extend that from the original 15 year plan. It sounds like yours has been a huge undertaking with the extra rooms and all. Youve done well. Cheers Andy

@TheGeo46 , All comments are welcome. Please do not worry about your english. It's great to hear from anyone whatever your first language is. (You'll probably notice my English is poor at times especially spelling)

+vassilij zietseff Cheers Dave. The cottage should get upto £700 per week in peak season as a holiday let. She who must be obeyed is pleased with how it's coming on. have you see tour 2 and 3?
Thanks for the tips on the planer.

Reminds me of my old cottage in France. Mine had no inside toilet facilities, one small copper pipe with a tap in the "kitchen", (no sink!), one "bedroom" and a large loft full of junk. That was nearly 20 years ago and I am still messing about with it! Mind you it does now have 2 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms and a games room. It was also a bargain at £16k! So good luck with your project and I'm sure that like me you will have loads of fun along the way! Cheers for now. Baz

Hope it all goes well Andy. Ours was a case of "when we are there we will do a bit" which of course really means "when we get there we will drink loads of wine and do jack sh*t! I love your videos and by the sound of your accent you are not too far from me. (I live near East Midlands Airport)

@agbagb123 I was actually born in Holmewood but my Dad was in the army so we moved around a lot shortly after, I still have lots of relations up there. The Lowe and Stone families.

i am so envious in a nice way, you both sound so excited, and yes you will agree with the boss if you value your peace and quiet, lol. it is a great cottage and so well situated, my wife has just shouted from the kitchen, "they can get £800 a month on rental, and £350 per week holiday let", NOW SHE TELL'S ME, well done both.
coincidently your planer thickness-er is the same one my brother offered me last night on the phone, mate of his deals in broken tools, and had 3, all same problem, chain jumped and jammed against plastic wheel pulley, easy fix with thicker washer on shaft to stop gear play and there working like a good UN, now for the price £15.00 each
WOW i am on my way back to Midlands tomorrow to pick it up cant wait to use it and make some saw dust. by the way in order to strengthen the fence guard use 1\2 x 1\2 angle iron on rear side drilled tapped and ground flat on user face job done totally fixed and a 1000 times stronger than original take care sorry reply is a long one bye Dave

Hi, I loved both videos of the 16th century cottage. I wish you could have done much more. Would have been great to have seen it on Restoration Home. Any chance you will be filming a walkthrough with finished results? Would be a great selling point for a Holliday In Northern UK. And where do we find your rental info for summer 2015?

Hi Benjamin, Great to hear from you. I'm due to do another walk through video in the near future although it's not finished yet. I really do hope it will ready to let out in 2015, If you can find you way through to the facebook page, there's a link from the iDoDtuff.co.uk site, it should keep you up to speed with all the developments.
