I really enjoy these early live performances from dire straits. Their whole discography is perfect but their work from 1978-79 with their first two albums are so amazing.
I’m so disappointed that this song is barely even known. It deserves just as many views as Sultans of Swing and Money for Nothing. This is a Masterpiece I tell you!
@beseeingyou6: for some reason they performed sultans of swing twice at that evening back then... ;) Have a look at the vids, there is one called "sultans of swing rockpalast 79 2nd version"... Have fun! Cheers!
I think he said they wanted to do something different and something about "if you could stand hearing sultans again" --directing that comment to the audience.
Trés rare en concert, mais super ! Il devrait peut - être une fois penser a faire un album " Spécial " avec ce qu' il a écrit et jamais jouer un public !
An extremely rare UK double vinyl version of the 1986 "Walk of Life" single. That's the only location of an official - albeit live - release of this song that I'm aware of.
I think it is on pub rock compilation album “live at the hope and anchor” worth checking out as it also contains stranglers, Wilco Johnson .. and I can’t remember who else!

I LOVE THE SOUND OF HIS GUITAR
The Stratocaster sounds really awesome.
Hell yeah!
Pick Withers hi hat and cymbal accents are sublime.
Backing vocals are smooth.
Love it...such energy! Fab band performance 🎸

Sorry it’s called “hope and anchor front row festival” double album 1979 great gatefold cover of dingy north London pub.
love this song!
what did mark mean when he said they "messed up sultans"?
They didn't mess it up . They just knew it was popular with the audience.
They actually messed up, on the first version mark started playing the second solo instead of the first solo.
lol Marks Wammy bar fell off at 3:35 till 3:41
Ahaha, lol dude, that was odd and funny :DD
hahah it just randomly falls off!
Because that's a old vintage wood
@@IsmailsGuitarWorldwhat's the wood got to do with it anyway ? You screw the bar into the block not the wood itself
Foot starts to tap itself :)
For once he uses the tremolo arm,he breaks it! LOL!
Trem arm worth big money😂
Sadly fender make very few hardtail strats!
lol'd hard at the whammy bar falling off
listen to the chords during the 1st solo, that is what they messed up
🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
