Seeing it actually in use at night would have been more helpful in seeing how well they illuminate. Did like the 'spacer' info!

It's been over a year; how's it holding up? Thank you for the helpful insights!

Nice, I also use the new LED lights instead of those old fashion white "reverse light bulbs"/// Game changer!

You mean yellow lights of yesteryear

If the original lights are routed to the tractors generator and not 12 volts directly from the battery, the new LED light will burn up the generator at low RPM's. If they dim or go out as you bring the throttle down, I would rewire it to its own switch and fuse, directly from the battery (and edit the video).

Nice & clean, that's how I'll do it, you should put some cheap LED's in the original fixtures for DRL's that would look sweet or red?

Looks like a good light bar.. Did you by chance measure the actual amp draw on it? I picked one up the other day on Amazon for $8 that said 60 watts but it only draws 1.42 amps, which is only 17 watts on a 12v system. I mounted it to my dads 4 wheeler and it's very bright for the cost so I ended up getting two more I'm going to mount on mine. I took them apart and siliconed the heck out of them, but time will tell how long the LED's hold up.

Looks sharp on that mower. Do you have a video available showing them at night throwing light out?

Interesting that your lights are DC powered. I believe my Craftsman LT1000 has AC powered headlights.

How are the lights holding up? If you did it again, would you do anything differently? Thanks.

Seems all lawn tractors, regardless of cost have garbage lighting. I bought a new X390 this spring and at over 5k the thing still just runs 2 1156 incandescent bulbs. I was pretty disappointed.
I swapped them out for some sylvania led bulbs with minor improvements but mowing at night is still useless. I like this light bar idea.

Did you replace the plastic grille on that mower or did you restore it? If you restored it what did you use? Thank you very much. The mower is beautiful!!

Thanks for the video. I bought the same light bar for my Craftsman and plan to hook up the same way you did. Wondering, running the light bar with your stock lights, is that ok or is it too much of a load to run both at the same time?

I haven’t had any issues running them off of the stock wiring. Still going strong.

You will be fine big B ... led's have low current draw I have them on everything I own

I hooked my LED up the way you did and everyone keeps telling me it's a fire hazard if it doesn't have a relay.

    • @Archifx

You can add a replay if it makes you feel better. I didn’t run one on mine and I still use the mower light a bunch every season. Best practices probably should use a relay tho. They’re cheap enough

@@Archifx I think I will, me and my son did a lot of work on it and it's sentimental. I don't want to though lol. Thanks for the reply, liked your video it was good.

Depends on the amp rating of the switch. Always connect directly to the battery with a fuse right next to it. Taping into the existing light wire can certainly overload the wire

    • @Archifx

Yep. You’re right. Relay is always best.
