At Militich camp there was a rule that if someone from the gym held the belt then yould never be able to get a shot at the belt. A lot of guys never got a shot because of it, but at the same time it kept the unity of the gym and kept a certain flow of talent in the gym as well. Back when it was matt hughes, tim sylvia, robbie lawler, jeremy horn and many others all at the same gym. It was a great time to be training because of all the talent that you got to work with if you were in the "elites" division of the gym. Its a time in my life i will NEVER forget. That said I think Kamaru will win via tko round 2. His standup is just too good. And the fact they trained together doesnt really matter. I have NEVER gone a full 100% on someone in sparring. If i ko you in the gym, who does that help or benefit? Nobody. It really can only hurt a persons career. Taking unnecessary damage and trauma for no real reason other than for some bs in gym kudos is just dumb. Ive seen guys careers cut short due to injuries in training. That could have easily been avoided had they just gone 75% instead of 100%.
Usman being a switch but fighting primarily orthadox against Burnes would make sense. Neither guy is in the kicking business, but both are in the takedown business. So outside of a lapse in defense and clean shot, a standup fight is going to be all about points and likely go to decision. I'd favor Usman especially with Trevor in that scenario. The sheer volume Usman can pour on would make me think Burnes best option is to threaten the takedown to keep him at bay and both guys picking their spots. The real mystery to me is who got better of who on the ground. Because one of them is going to have to take it there out of desperation or preference.
What I'm about to bring up is a very real issue I hear people who have experienced talk about.. And that is the after effect of Covid 19. It gives people brain fog, muscle fatigue, and shortness of breath. I know some will look at this as an excuse, but this is a very real thing and I'm somewhat worried this could take a toll on Burns in this fight, especially knowing how Usman like to approach a fight.
They don’t know who will win dude. The fighters have changed since they’ve trained together and you can live spar all you want, it doesn’t mean that a person will always perform as well when you’re under those bright lights.
I think kamura is super aware in his fights i think kamura really capitalizes on mistakes people make easily i also think he is physically stronger then most if not all welterweights i believe kamura will win but it wont be easy
Wait a minute... Conor can improve and adjust before a rematch with Dustin but Usman and Burns have to remain the exact same fighters over a year later.
@@ahein719 that fight with Colby was very exciting and idk if you heard Gilbert comments about the time they used to spar, they would go really hard in the striking and wrestling, I don’t think Usman will want to take Burns down of his BJJ and they will most likely stand.
His immune system isn’t strong enough
😂
Usman being a switch but fighting primarily orthadox against Burnes would make sense. Neither guy is in the kicking business, but both are in the takedown business. So outside of a lapse in defense and clean shot, a standup fight is going to be all about points and likely go to decision. I'd favor Usman especially with Trevor in that scenario. The sheer volume Usman can pour on would make me think Burnes best option is to threaten the takedown to keep him at bay and both guys picking their spots. The real mystery to me is who got better of who on the ground. Because one of them is going to have to take it there out of desperation or preference.
I'm pretty sure Usman left Henry's gym after Burns became number 1 contender and the fight was close to being signed.
"usman has something to lose"
me: please say Burns has something to earn...
What are these money and Gilbert jokes about? Someone explain please😶
Good point, you learn real quick which guys you can be the bull with and which ones you need to be the matador.
I offer you this touch for endless hours, maybe 60 minutes a day
If Chael says Randy Couture was the lightweight champion then he really was the lightweight champion. #nowweknow.
I have burns for this one. Burns is awesome he is definitely gonna give usman a good fight
Us man may be the favorite... but Burns gonna win. I see Burns winning by stoppage too.
His one loss he has is a finish, got choked out
Congratulations
couldn't finish woodley but gonna finish Usman...yea ok
It's only what they hope for ...
but that will not happen .
Kamarudeen will remain champion
"Dana rewards success, everytime"
*Conor leaves the chat*
Uncle Chael, undefeated mathlete
The BADDEST 50/50 FIGHT IN 2021 SO FAR
Burns has better stand up and good pressure, wouldn't surprise me if we have a new welterweight champ
Usmam moved BECAUSE they are scheduled to fight each other. They aren’t scheduled to fight because he moved.
I have a feeling that this one will be a fight of the night, maybe even fight of the year candidate
What about any fight Usman has ever been in makes you think that?
@@ahein719 that fight with Colby was very exciting and idk if you heard Gilbert comments about the time they used to spar, they would go really hard in the striking and wrestling, I don’t think Usman will want to take Burns down of his BJJ and they will most likely stand. It’s just a feeling, I know he’s probably the most boring champ but against Colby he was very exciting.
Chael your math is wrong, it’s 60 mins x 5= 5hrs a week x 4= 20hrs a month
20hrs x 12 months = 240hrs a year
240 hrs a year x 6 yrs = 1440hrs
Kumaru will have the belt all 2021 no question he's beast mode
Unless he fights Colby Chaos
Dang I forgot all about Snoozeman wow if no one ever mentioned him again I don't think he would have ever come to mind..
Fact is, MOST people wanting Burns to win do so, not because they like, know and want to see him win, it's because they want to see Usman lose.
They want that Colby/Masvidal wins back.
Usman by 30-28, 30-28, 30-28
Naturally, they both remember well the times they bettered the other fighter in training.
GSP did it when carlos condit, nick diaz, hendricks, koscheck, penn, Hughes and all of them were all in their prime. Woodley became champion when all those guys were at the end of their career. GSP>Usman. Also, double champ. If usman goes up and beats iggy you can make the conversation
Chael always has something in his video, he can easily look up prior to his podcast, but just goes with "I don't know"
