when Scootaloo broke down, so did I. To look up to someone who youll never be able to be simply because of something you cannot control is heartbreaking. You gotta know these feelings had to be eating at Scoots since Flight to the Finish.
I'm really glad Scootaloo wasn't just being rebellious for the sake of being rebellious, like a lot of cartoon characters do. Actual kids her age have complicated reasons for doing what they do. Reasons that they usually keep to themselves and bottle up for a long time.
@@luffyiscool Looking forward to your reactions for the rest of the season. This season has been full of episodes that are perfect for reactions, especially towards the end. Don't know how many reactions you've recorded up to this point, so I don't want to give too much away, but rest assured there's a lot of "wow", "lol", and "wtf" moments to come.
Here's the thing: While it would've been quite nuanced to let Scootaloo go ahead with her decision and not end up in a bad situation for it, the lesson was still learnt. Rainbow Dash needed to avoid becoming the same helicopter parent her folks were, and Scootaloo needed to have her little teenage rebellion.
Yep. And it might've been better for Rainbow to not just let Scootaloo still do it and she just lucks out and not get hurt, since that'll been dangerous thinking on Rainbow's part. You gonna be able to learn not be overprotective for sure, but at the same time you still gotta be able to tell when enough is enough, and step in before something serious happens.
Gotta agree with most of those thoughts. One other thing I loved about this ep is that it never came down on The Washouts being 'wrong' or doing stuff like that as 'wrong'. The idea, and being a team like them was great and works, the issue was LD going over the line from 'Evil Kenevil" style stunt performing daring, and into criminal child endangerment recklessness. This type of thing, it really would be amazing for Scoots to do, but with a group that cares about her safety and isn't so reckless as to toss unprepared, untrained FOALS into a potentially lethal stunt. Or even try ANY stunt without though testing of it. The 'wrongness' was all on LD's methods, not the underlying idea. Also, more convinced then ever of what I've been saying since season 3, Lightning Dust is an outright sociopath, unable to give a single fuck about any other being beyond how they can be used for her own ends.
I liked the lesson in this one, but I do want to quickly point out some fridge horror: The rocket went far far into the sky and is going to probably crash into who knows what. Lightning Dust is probably okay, but just imagine what would have happened to Scootaloo if Dash hadn't saved her. She can't fly. She can't bail in the sky by herself. Rainbow Dash is a surrogate big sister, but she was almost like a surrogate mom here against a rebellious teen.
Also, Spitfire's skit was based off the "van down by the river" skit by Chris Farley on SNL. You should totally check that skit out if you wanna laugh yourself to tears!
The long awaited return of a character that we all thought was shelved. There's only one issue with the episode and its an inconsistency that I saw AppleGeek point out. Scoots knows who Lightning Dust is. She's was the one who explained who sge even is to Dash's parents in Parental Glideance. Other than that, it was a great episode. Something that's been on the backburner of the series for awhile now which is the true establishment of the daredevil "sisters" relationship going forward. In all honesty, as cute as it is, they basically admitted to feeding into each others flaws. Rainbows ego and Scoot's confidence(in regards to her flight disability). With so mamy characters in the show to develop, I'm honestly fine it took this long to reach this subject and come at it full throttle. Scootaloo growing up, Dash realizing her full role model, well, role and the major difference that sets Dash apart from someone like Lightning. Ego is one thing but the inability to look beyond it even for a moment is something else. Dash showed that it wasn't so much her ego that caused her to act so possesive of her honorary little sister but rather the fact that she genuinely enjoys being someone that's so deeply looked up to by someone she basically considers family. It was sweet to see her act that way because she just didn't want to lose that family. Yeah she went about it the wrong way but lessons needed to be learned and quite frankly, the execution for this episode was excellent all around. Glad to see you enjoyed it as well
Here's my attempt at explaining the inconsistency. I think it's pretty plausible with a suspension of disbelief. i.gyazo.com/0aa96b93d1a94531d7f4495ba63419d2.png
You actually had it pretty much right with your ACTUAL first impression, which wasn't "Scootaloo independence", but instead it was "child endangerment".
I like the little foreshadowing of her admittance that she cant fly when rainbow says they take the best flyers and scoots gets sad but then happy when dust says anyone can be the best also you think thats a permanent thing or scoots opinion
Definitely permanent. They've put too much focus on how she's learning to deal with it and adapt her life goals. It would kinda ruin that if she was eventually able to fly. She's much stronger as an example for the kids at home that life is what you make of it.
@@luffyiscool i hope youre right and you make a good point wiith that but its true everyone should know that you can do anything (within reason) if you truly strive for it no matter if you have a disability or not its all up to the individuals desire to follow through and thats what the washouts stood for i just think dust has issues with knowing limits of others i hope they stay a thing and there is a return where she learns that lesson
There's my main problem with this episode: This is the one and only time in all of My Little Pony canon where we see Scootaloo exploring a career which would make good use of her skills but not require flight... and we get the message that this was a *BAD* thing. Redeeming Lightning Dust could have yielded a lovely lesson in finding something noteworthy to do with one's life despite a disability.
I used not liked this episode because Lightning dust almost put Scooloo in danger but now I like it because of Spitfire's drinking through a straw talk.
I really hope Ladix comes back to reactions solely to see his response will be to this episode. He is a massive Spitfire fan. Anyone know what happened with Ladix? He did S8's first episode, and then silence.
Trust me, you're not the only one who misinterpreted the way this episode was going. At one point I literally thought "Ah, so this is the episode where they are going to kill off Scootaloo". I think it's just proof of how mature this show and it's characters have gotten, it just causes different expectations.
I think i'm the only person that ever had this take on the episode, but I pretty much joked that this episode was essentially like being back in 1995 when the Wonderbolts were like the WWF and all of a sudden ECW showed up.
Odd. In the season 7 episode "Parental Glideance," Scootaloo mentioned Lightning Dust in one of Rainbow Dash's exploits in her scrapbook, yet in this episode she has no clue that they've met. I'll bet she only knows LD by name but not what made the rivalry between her and RD come to be.
I think Spitfire has had very bad personal experiences regarding full body-wing-n-hoof casts. And Lightning Dust just plopping Scootaloo on the rocket... "Has anyone tested this before?" "Where's the fun in that?" ... Whatever happened to practice? But all in all, a very good Scootaloo episode. And it is 100% stated, confirmed, and accepted: She Can't Fly
Now this was a wild episode, with the return of a character who still remains on my list of most disliked... This was an important episode for Scootaloo, though. Seeing her fangirl over Rainbow Dash for so long, it was extremely jarring to see her shelve that fan love in favor of another group she's come to love: the eponymous Washouts. Now, I don't have a problem with that. She's growing up, so of course she's going to be developing new interests. What got me, though, was how abruptly she abridged her meeting of the Rainbow Dash Fan Club, acted all defensive about it to Dash, then dissed the Wonderbolts, right in front of her longtime idol _and_ sister-at-heart. It just felt too much for me, personally, and it was definitely a mind-screw for Dash. She's not just Scoot's idol, but her honorary big sister as well. There's protectiveness in the apparent possessiveness. So we get to see the Washouts themselves, and find out that they're rejected Wonderbolts who live for dangerous, life-threatening stunts. And their leader? The most reckless ex-Bolt of all: Lightning Dust, who hasn't changed a bit. Still an adrenaline junkie, still not the least bit remorseful of the ponies she endangered back in her Academy days, though there does seem to be genuine companionship between her, Rolling Thunder, and Short Fuse. This episode actually teased my expectations, seeing her and Dash actually starting to get friendly again, only to fall back on their old bitterness with each other. It was like a grim reminder that some things are going to always be the way they are... And then there's Scootaloo. Apparently, she completely forgot who Lightning Dust is, and about her history with Dash, despite doing research on that for her report in _Parental Glideance_ . Worse than that apparent amnesia, though, was her sudden adoration of her, to the point where she wanted to be a Washout herself, and started to act rebellious towards Dash when she was trying to help her see sense, especially in light of the pony she was so enamored with. Not even a visit to Spitfire, who gave one _mother_ of a 'scare-em straight' speech (and referencing an SNL skit I saw but forgot about, lol), cures her of her Washout mania, or her sudden attitude problem towards Dash, though they really turned out to be hints of something deep... Then again, Dash didn't act much like a paragon herself, basically telling Scoot that the only worthwhile pursuit is worshipping her, and to destroy all her Washout memorabilia to get to that quicker. This was one of those moments where she temporarily let her ego get the best of her. Lucky we had Twilight to give her a pep talk, and Her Studiousness made a very good point: a good role model doesn't control what their fans like or dislike, and should let them be free to make their own decisions, trusting that they're the right ones, even though Dash is afraid not just afraid of losing her biggest fan, but her little sister, too... Of course, we see that Scoot _didn't_ make a good decision, as she joins the Washouts, and finally reveals what's been bugging her while exploding at Dash. She's pretty much given up on ever being able to fly, and Dash has made her feel like the only way she'll ever be somepony who matters is if she becomes a Wonderbolt like her, which would involve...well, you know. She feels that, with the Washouts, she can accomplish something without needing to fly. It was a heart-piercing scene, seeing her lay it out like that: a child coming to terms with something that's holding them back, and having to let go of what now seems completely out of reach, while also taking their idol off the pedestal they placed them on. Poor Dash, heartbroken, has no choice but to step aside, since it's her decision... However, Scootaloo didn't _know_ Lightning Dust, who, even when she hesitated in the face of the stunt she was supposed to perform, pressured her into going along with it, showing a total disregard for her safety or feelings. _This_ was the pony Dash was trying to protect her from, and for good reason...Lucky Scoot has a sister-at-heart who, even while respecting her right to make her own choices, is still around to save her when she needs it. And Lightning Dust makes an unceremonious exit, declaring her never-ending rivalry with Dash. Hopefully we never see her again, until she finally sees sense... Seeing Dash and Scoot reconcile was very sweet: Scoot apologizing for not listening to Dash's warnings, and Dash for making Scoot feel worthless for not being like her, compounded with the hug they shared. The icing on top was seeing Dash put together a fan club for our favorite little pegasus, which has good ol' Bow and Windy in attendance! The little sweetheart really does deserve it, and now she gets to experience what Dash does when she spies on meetings of her own fan club. =P Random notes: -"Oh, wow, we haven't seen this club in a _long_ time!" Last time was Season 2, lol -"And of course, she's always here to spy with her meme faces." The one she made in Daring Don't, specifically, lol -"Um...we own this tree house?" Well, technically, it was Applejack's, but she did give it them, so... -"Nice of you to just admit that." And we thought AJ was the Element of Honesty. =P -"She can have more than one fan club, Dash. Don't get too possessive." Dash already has problems with reading anything that isn't Daring Do-related. She has issues with diversifying interests, it seems. -"...It makes sense she likes stunts!" She's a little daredevil all right. We saw plenty of that on her scooter rides. =P -"Compared to a stunt troupe, no, but [the Wonderbolts] are cool in their own way." And that shouldn't be forgotten. =) -Lesson learned: Applejack does _not_ like bananas. -I kinda gave Twi a hard time for showing favor to the Washouts right in front of Dash, as it felt like it was just rubbing salt in the latter's wounds, but in hindsight, I shouldn't criticize her for showing interest. -"Nice save, Twilight!" *facepalm* Subtlety, thy name is Pinkie Pie... -"Those had better be spicy..." I'm not much for spicy foods, personally, lol -"Ok, you're just being petty. I get it." Logic flies out the window when Dash's ego is threatened. -Rock _ON_ , Luffy! XD -"Bass and green smoke. Are we gonna see the Dazzlings?" I wonder what happened to them. It's been ages since Rainbow Rocks... -'Leap before you look.' That's definitely a Dust-ism right there... -"Is Scootaloo gonna try some of this stuff?...She _is_ a little badass." I'm not denying what Scoot can do, but all this seems too advanced even for her... -Somehow, those 'welp, episode over' jokes never get old. XD -"They're like the Shadowbolts, but wetsuits." Lucky the name was already taken, or Dust might've used that, to complete the 'opposite of the Wonderbolts' parallel. -"You look really cool." She's got a cool accent, too. -We actually saw Short Fuse in Top Bolt, in the same class as Sky Stinger and Vapor Trail. Guess he didn't make the cut. -"Lightning Dust." "Rainbow Dash." "Spongebob!" "Scootaloo!" Callback to Lost Treasure of Griffonstone? lol -I still don't understand how Scootaloo completely forgot all the research she did... -"You got _yourself_ kicked out." Exactly. -"So is this gonna go into child endangerment?" Oh, you have no idea... -The faces Scootaloo makes throughout this episode are just too precious. Not to mention, they're clues to what's going on with her. If only I could've realized... -I can imagine much laughter in the recording studio as Kelly Metzger recorded her lines for this episode. XD -Good speech on the conflict of points of view, even citing Cart Before the Ponies. You're right: while it would be better for Scootaloo not to get herself in danger, she shouldn't be treated as if she has no say. -If Short Fuse won't sign his sandwich, we should find Larson. Apparently, he'll sign anything. XD -"Because I...can't...fly!" Feels arrow, right through the heart...
It did not become wrong until LD pretty much forced Scootaloo to do the stunt. I am pretty sure even with a stunt show there is no way they can force someone to do a stunt they do not feel safe or comfortable doing.
Easily my favorite episode of season 7. Love the Chris Farley reference with Spitfire, and tear up every time shortly after the introduction of Half-Pint Dynamite.
Scootaloo looked cool as a Washout. I wonder if she'll keep the outfit ? In Scare Master she dressed as a Wonderbolt. If there's going to be a Nightmare night episode she could dress as a Washout couldn't she ? And Short Fuse appeared in Top Bolt. Looks like he got kicked out from the acedamy. Maybe because of his short temper ? Rainbow Dash feared for Scootaloo's safety and for good reason. But Scootaloo had to experience the danger on her own skin. According to an old saying : Young hearts cannot be dissuaded from adventurousness by a few warning words. I think we haven't seen the last of Lightning Dust and the Washouts. And I saw Gallus, Silver Stream and Smolder at the audience. How would they look like as Washouts ? I think Thunderlane would act the same way as Rainbow Dash if he finds out that his little brother Rumble joined the Washouts. And what if the Wonderbolt members decide to quit and join the Washouts ? A Wonderbolts vs Washouts episode would be great. And if the Washouts make another appearance maybe we'll see Wind Rider as a Washout ? I hope so. Also according to mlp fanfiction and deviantart the Shadowbolts are ex-Wonderbolt members. And how would Spitfire react if she finds out that her mother Stormy Flare joined the Washouts ?
This ep is a continuation of Flight to Finish. Rainbow finally get what happen to Scootaloo in Flight to Finish: Scootaloo will never be a Wonderbolt or even flying. Scootaloo finally learn to idolize herself... wait...
I remember when I first saw this episode. I didn't get the reference for the "Full body wing and hoof cast drinking through a straw" until a friend showed me afterwards, but I must admit when I saw Rainbow Dash rescuing Scootaloo from that dangerous stunt, I immediately thought of the classic Simpsons episode, "Bart the Daredevil". :)
It was okay, I guess. Some cute shipping moments and a refreshingly dark threat (everyone being crushed to death in a small room), but that's about it lol
RD taking a step back from Scoots and not to “helicopter parent” does show real growth in letting Scootaloo try something she wants but is still their to protect her in the end, helps show growth in dash’s character learning from her parents. Confalone did a pretty good job writing this episode and the return of lightning dust was very welcome. I hope the cmc’s get a decent send off in S9 if it is the final season
Going into this episode, I had no idea that a certain Lightning Dust would return and I’m glad that I didn’t get spoiled on this because I’ve hoped to see her again after “Wonderbolt Academy.” I really like the level of comedy in this episode, mainly from the scene of Spitfire lecturing Scootaloo; that was very good! I also like the character callbacks with Short Fuse(from “Top Bolt”) and Rainbow’s parents attending the Scootaloo fan club. Another nice episode overall.
Am I the only one who would’ve preferred it if they didn’t portray Lightning Dust to be the “big baddy” one dimensional antagonist at the end? I feel like it really ruined her character, she had some strong points and neither RD or LD was in the wrong. There didn’t have to be a clear good side vs bad side, Scootaloo should’ve been allowed to just like things that RD won’t, it would’ve been a good lesson. And Lightening Dust could’ve been a good mentor towards Scootaloo.
Yeah, Lightning Dust's behaviour in the climax was completely forced by the writer. Though it's something I can overlook in the face of all the other things this episode did excellently.
This is a fantastic episode. Rainbow Dash shows so much growth and has an engaging conflict. Scootaloo is fantastic. It's great to see Lightning Dust again.
I honestly think like this is an episode about like a rogue teen age ya know cuz in the time shes been mlp she grown and got more mature so shes going rogue and instead of following RD shes going againist her ya know like if you agree
Gotta love the SNL reference. I'm surprised how many people didn't get it really. But it is definitely my favourite reference this show has made in a long time.
@@luffyiscool oh cool👍👍.....I should probably delete the exact same comments I did on every reaction channel I watched about this episode😂😂........Excited for you to watch the Christmas special🤗
i would say the washouts are more of a private squad of ponies compared to the wonderbolts they are calestias air force that also put on shows acros equestria
Do you know who LD and RD remind me? My two friends, seriously they have their characters, even similar hair styles and best of all, they are best friends ever! They do everything together and this is so beautiful. I love their relationship and I would like RD and LD to become friends someday, that would be amazing but unfortunately I can dream because season 9 is the last season.
Another great episode! I find it funny that Scootaloo wasn't afraid of wanting to be a Washout despite the fact that she watched how dangerous it is. Still amazing and great reaction as always!
VideoGameFan96 Scootaloo probably wasn't that worried about the inherent risk because she assumed that the washout members properly assessed the dangers and had her safety in mind.
i was waiting a long time for Lighting dust to return, she is one of my favorite antagonist, and i never thought she was evil, she only had her own way, now they give her that , and make her "the bad guy" only because each episode needs one, "Lets forgive guilda who was an actual ass, lets forgive trixie who use dark magic and enslaved ponyville, lets forgive even the GOD OF CHAOS...whats that? lighting dust? the pony who got her dreams shatered? no no, she whent too far by having her own show"
@Atticus Omundson those civilians werent suposed to be there, also dash did it too, but she is ok because she said sorry, i mean, i know what you mean, but what about discord? what about starlight? i love starlight btw
@@Shion-r3n Maybe the writers want a few characters that don't learn their lesson, even though most do, or maybe Lighting Dust will do it next season, and then won't look like the bad guy anymore. But still, even if they did "reform" Lighting Dust here, there's a lot of fans that wanted her to stay the way she is, so they would have a problem with it, so the writers can't win no matter what they do with Lightning Dust. It's no different than how some fans want Chrysalis to reform, while others would be mad if they do. Sometimes I'm really glad I'm not a writer for this show.
"also dash did it too, but she is ok because she said sorry" Slight correction here, but Dash didn't apologise. She actually got mad because she thought LD's reckless behaviour was something that gets rewarded at the academy. She was disillusioned by the fact that Spitfire favoured LD despite her recklessness. Even when Dash told Spitfire what happened, the first thing Spitfire did was praise the effectiveness of the tornado. This pissed Dash off so much that she tried to quit, convinced that the Wonderbolts weren't what she imagined. Spitfire then admitted that Dash was right, and kicked LD out. Dash never had to apologise because for the last quarter of the episode she was acting heroically. She saved her friends, berated LD for not taking the situation seriously, then reported her to Spitfire. Then, when it seemed like Spitfire was still encouraging LD, Dash quit due to her sense of justice. The episode very much put her in the right for her actions towards the end.
Yeah, given that Dust has a history of putting peoples lives in danger and has a whole show involving near-death stunts...who actually expected Scoot to be perfectly fine under her?
I’m first and early again lol I loved this episode so much Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash episodes are great Rainbow Dash grows well when it comes to her Rainbow is very protective of her I love it big sister Lightning Dust returns and she’s a total jerk not caring about others safety I like the new characters the mare Rolling Thunder and Short Fuse Scoot is kinda at a rebellious stage in her young life Omg does that mean that it’s official Scootalo will never fly poor kid 😢 For some reason for me it was hard to tell if you were enjoying the episode or not because thought you were analyzing more than anything but I’m glad you enjoyed it
It's still never been officially confirmed that she's physically unable to fly. I still say she's a late bloomer. I also heavily dislike it when people literally WISH for a character to be disabled based on nothing more than speculation. Like, if the writers come out and actually confirm that she's disabled, then cool. More power to them. But until then, it's nothing more than speculation. At one point, even Faust herself said that there is no reason she can't fly yet, and that she just "doesn't know how"
If Scootaloo finally flies in Season 9, I'll be happy, but...oh boy...it would be one of the most controversial moments in the entire show. Right up there to what'll happen if we get Alicorn Starlight Glimmer, which i also personally want, as well as a lot of other Starlight fans. But her haters, and even some on her fans, on the other hand...yeah. All I'll say is, if either one of those things happens, have some popcorn nearby! Lol
Always great seeing you upload a new video Luffy your reactions are always a highlight of the week for me. By the way watch the new MLP Best Gift Ever special, you'll like it a lot I think.
I would've cut Scoots loose. Dashie is a weather Pegasus, a Wonderbolt, a teacher and an on demand agent of the Map. She doesn't have time for a non blood related kid who intentionally ignores her safety advice. That's Scoots' decision? Have it your way then. I'm busy anyway. Scoots better be grateful Dashie cares about her. Dashie had no obligation to save her.
Hold up, you saw Scootaloo as the thumbnail and not, you know, the spoiler of this episode? How in the ever loving f*** did you manage to avoid that thumbnail spoiler? No seriously, I saw PotterBrony's one and he mentioned said spoiler in a small rant at the start and I was afraid you might get spoiled on that.
Here we go with one of most disappointing episodes of the season. Also why does Lighting Dust sound like a drug name? "Hey kid want some Lighting Dust?" 😂😂
That Spitfire moment might be the funniest homage that MLP has EVER done! Maybe that's just because I love that SNL bit!
I also loved it even before I knew what the reference was. I think Spitfire acting this way is just comedy gold either way.
I really loved how Rainbow Dash's parents were part of Scootaloo's fan club at the end.
But yeah, best part of the episode was definitely Spitfire.
and thanks to DWK I will always know them as Brohoof & Wet Your Whistle XD

Redeeming Lightning Dust could have yielded a lovely lesson in finding something noteworthy to do with one's life despite a disability.
22:15 Looks like Lightning Dust is blasting off agaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin!
I used not liked this episode because Lightning dust almost put Scooloo in danger but now I like it because of Spitfire's drinking through a straw talk.
The Spitfire part was actually a reference from SNL Matt Varney
I really hope Ladix comes back to reactions solely to see his response will be to this episode. He is a massive Spitfire fan.
Anyone know what happened with Ladix? He did S8's first episode, and then silence.
He's living real life for the most part, including being a store manager of some sort.
Trust me, you're not the only one who misinterpreted the way this episode was going. At one point I literally thought "Ah, so this is the episode where they are going to kill off Scootaloo". I think it's just proof of how mature this show and it's characters have gotten, it just causes different expectations.
I really like that Rainbow & Lighting dust don't hate each other but became even bigger rivals.
I think i'm the only person that ever had this take on the episode, but I pretty much joked that this episode was essentially like being back in 1995 when the Wonderbolts were like the WWF and all of a sudden ECW showed up.
^ Oh wow! That never even crossed my mind.
Well I'll have fun being late to one of your videos next time when I'm living in a _VAN_ *DOWN BY THE RIVER!*
Exactly. It's pretty plausible, yet so many people jump to calling it an inconsistency XD
Random notes:
-"Oh, wow, we haven't seen this club in a _long_ time!" Last time was Season 2, lol
-"And of course, she's always here to spy with her meme faces." The one she made in Daring Don't, specifically, lol
-"Um...we own this tree house?" Well, technically, it was Applejack's, but she did give it them, so...
-"Nice of you to just admit that." And we thought AJ was the Element of Honesty. =P
-"She can have more than one fan club, Dash. Don't get too possessive." Dash already has problems with reading anything that isn't Daring Do-related. She has issues with diversifying interests, it seems.
-"...It makes sense she likes stunts!" She's a little daredevil all right. We saw plenty of that on her scooter rides. =P
-"Compared to a stunt troupe, no, but [the Wonderbolts] are cool in their own way." And that shouldn't be forgotten. =)
-Lesson learned: Applejack does _not_ like bananas.
-"Those had better be spicy..." I'm not much for spicy foods, personally, lol
-"Ok, you're just being petty. I get it." Logic flies out the window when Dash's ego is threatened.
-Rock _ON_ , Luffy! XD
-"Bass and green smoke.
XD
-"They're like the Shadowbolts, but wetsuits." Lucky the name was already taken, or Dust might've used that, to complete the 'opposite of the Wonderbolts' parallel.
-"You look really cool." She's got a cool accent, too.
-We actually saw Short Fuse in Top Bolt, in the same class as Sky Stinger and Vapor Trail. Guess he didn't make the cut.
-"Lightning Dust." "Rainbow Dash." "Spongebob!" "Scootaloo!" Callback to Lost Treasure of Griffonstone? lol
-I still don't understand how Scootaloo completely forgot all the research she did...
XD
-Good speech on the conflict of points of view, even citing Cart Before the Ponies. You're right: while it would be better for Scootaloo not to get herself in danger, she shouldn't be treated as if she has no say.
-If Short Fuse won't sign his sandwich, we should find Larson. Apparently, he'll sign anything. XD
-"Because I...can't...fly!" Feels arrow, right through the heart...
Can I just say that is one of the very best writeups I have ever seen? You're pretty awesome, man.
@@the-NightStar Heh, thanks. =)
Is it bad i actually like Lightning Dust XD
It did not become wrong until LD pretty much forced Scootaloo to do the stunt. I am pretty sure even with a stunt show there is no way they can force someone to do a stunt they do not feel safe or comfortable doing.
It's really hard to enjoy season 8 when you are in a full body winged hoff cast drinking through a straw !!!!!!
luffy I loved spitfires moment when she was shouting at scootaloo her drill instructer side
Easily my favorite episode of season 7. Love the Chris Farley reference with Spitfire, and tear up every time shortly after the introduction of Half-Pint Dynamite.
I can't wait to see your reaction to the Christmas Special, The Best Gift Ever. :D
13:09 That's exactly how I feel. "Friendship" this, "Friendship" that.
I like that it was finally said scootaloo can't fly though lighting dust did go to far again.
The accents in this show are always amazing imo.
Scootaloo finally learn to idolize herself... wait...
9:45 "I _really_ like _you!"_
Heyyyyy, back off, buddy! That's _my_ Aussie pony waifu, I saw her first!
I cant wait for your reaction for the best gift ever and Rollercoaster of friendship (eqg special)
I saw Rollercoaster of Friendship on my own a while back.
I'll be reacting to Best Gift Ever though!
Luffyiscool OHHH. Thoughts on it ?
It was okay, I guess. Some cute shipping moments and a refreshingly dark threat (everyone being crushed to death in a small room), but that's about it lol
Luffyiscool Felt the same way about it. Rarijack though 😂. And I found it cute that dashie was freaking out about rollercoasters
22:15 yeah, yeah, something something blasting off again
Going into this episode, I had no idea that a certain Lightning Dust would return and I’m glad that I didn’t get spoiled on this because I’ve hoped to see her again after “Wonderbolt Academy.” I really like the level of comedy in this episode, mainly from the scene of Spitfire lecturing Scootaloo; that was very good! I also like the character callbacks with Short Fuse(from “Top Bolt”) and Rainbow’s parents attending the Scootaloo fan club. Another nice episode overall.
I absolutely ADORE this episode.
As for the scene where Scoots rants at Dash, I don't think it means anything outside of the context of the episode.
@@luffyiscool i don't see it as out of character because shes been known to endanger lives before and not care
The episode delivery was amazing to watch Spitfire MVP of the episode
Continuity error: Scootaloo actually already knew who LightningDust is in parental glideance.....
Actually, I thought of a plausible explanation:

@@luffyiscool oh cool👍👍.....I should probably delete the exact same comments I did on every reaction channel I watched about this episode😂😂........Excited for you to watch the Christmas special🤗
i would say the washouts are more of a private squad of ponies compared to the wonderbolts they are calestias air force that also put on shows acros equestria
You make me want to see EQG's CMC at a car wash fund raiser.
"Looks like Lightning Dust's blasting off again!"
16:00 Now that's I call putting your heads together! :D
i was waiting a long time for Lighting dust to return, she is one of my favorite antagonist, and i never thought she was evil, she only had her own way, now they give her that , and make her "the bad guy" only because each episode needs one, "Lets forgive guilda who was an actual ass, lets forgive trixie who use dark magic and enslaved ponyville, lets forgive even the GOD OF CHAOS...whats that? lighting dust? the pony who got her dreams shatered? no no, she whent too far by having her own show"
@Atticus Omundson those civilians werent suposed to be there, also dash did it too, but she is ok because she said sorry, i mean, i know what you mean, but what about discord? what about starlight? i love starlight btw
Atticus Omundson yeah exactly, my point is, why the writters didnt do that, i dont know, i just want it to see her again
"also dash did it too, but she is ok because she said sorry"
Slight correction here, but Dash didn't apologise.
@@Gokuvstheworld yeah, it might be that way
It was really uncomfortable for me because Rainbow was the only adult that was worried about Scootaloo
Yeah, given that Dust has a history of putting peoples lives in danger and has a whole show involving near-death stunts...who actually expected Scoot to be perfectly fine under her?
Kinda like nobody cared about Zecora turning into a tree other than Fluttershy.
Lesson never join dangerous shows because you can get seriously injured or killed if you do that also I like that episode
I’m first and early again lol
I loved this episode so much Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash episodes are great
Rainbow Dash grows well when it comes to her
Rainbow is very protective of her I love it big sister
Lightning Dust returns and she’s a total jerk not caring about others safety
I like the new characters the mare Rolling Thunder and Short Fuse
Scoot is kinda at a rebellious stage in her young life
Omg does that mean that it’s official Scootalo will never fly poor kid 😢
For some reason for me it was hard to tell if you were enjoying the episode or not because thought you were analyzing more than anything but I’m glad you enjoyed it
It's still never been officially confirmed that she's physically unable to fly. I still say she's a late bloomer. I also heavily dislike it when people literally WISH for a character to be disabled based on nothing more than speculation.
Like, if the writers come out and actually confirm that she's disabled, then cool. More power to them. But until then, it's nothing more than speculation. At one point, even Faust herself said that there is no reason she can't fly yet, and that she just "doesn't know how"
Justin Galloway I hope that she will be able to fly one day and I would never wish any character to be disabled! I love Scootaloo!
@@Astral_inkwell
Same here! She's always been my favorite filly in the show!
Lol

@@luffyiscool I hope you at least looked it up though lol its a classic!
I did!
Dashie had no obligation to save her.
once back agin, indeed
6:50 Okay, of all people, please tell me you at least heard Tom Sawyer here too, because I feel like the only one and it's way too similar.
Please react to Best Gift Ever! I know you don't do specials often but this one is worth watching.
Good reaction, I enjoyed it.

Yep, cutie marks seem to represent puberty in a way.
Here we go with one of most disappointing episodes of the season.
Also why does Lighting Dust sound like a drug name? "Hey kid want some Lighting Dust?" 😂😂
