- This tree is now looking fantastic.
In part 2 I repot the tree in to some of my bonsai soil mix removing the unsightly roots and bending the trunk into a new position which better suits the tree complementing the overall style.
What an improvement.
I hope you all enjoy this video. If you do please give it a thumbs up.
Thank you for watching.

Tbh Chris I will be very surprised if that tree survives hardly any root left hope it does prove me wrong keep us updated on it’s progress good luck buddy 🫶
I'm a bit concerned too. I went pretty hard on my forest and they all survived, so I'm hopeful. I will keep updated as always and I will do my best to help it thrive.
@ the only reason i said that a while ago I had a conversation with a guy in my Bonsai club he is expert on larches and told me larch trees root systems are a little different to a lot other trees the roots are very vascular and told me go easy when cutting back the roots it’s a slow process a bit each time you repot hope this information helps buddy 🫶
@pauletheridge7594 he seems like a very knowledgeable person. I'm still new to larchs and I'm still figuring them out. This info will do me well, thank you. Every day is a school day. ☺️👍🏼
Looks great Chris the tree will be slow to bounce back but after this year should be good 👊
Man I hope so. Worried about the root system but I have lots of spagnam moss in my mix to aid recovery. Got to make them bold decisions some times eh. I'll do an update come spring.
Lots of roots taken - hopefully the tree has enough energy stored in the trunk :)
Yeah. You know what it's like when the roots are all bad.🫣 I couldn't stop. My soil has spagnam moss in it so I'm hoping it helps. I'm risking it on this one.
first ;D
Oh yes 👍🏼
