Hell of a whisky to dip into! The Glenlivet just hasn't been gelling with me as a house style so wasn't likely to pick this up any time soon. I've been getting into my podcasts recently, I'll take a look :)
I know! The podcast is going strong but videos take a LOT of time unfortunately. Thankfully I’m getting some help with editing so the Whiskey Uncut UA-cam channel will start getting new videos soon too!
Bruichladdich Black Art, Balvenie TUN 1509, Bunnahabhain 25yr, Glendronach 21 yr Parliament, Laphroaig 25. Unfortunately most of these are likely in the $500-600 price range now. There's a huge gap in the market right now pricing wise between 12, 18 and 25 age statements due to surge of prices since COVID. The 300-500 range is kind of a wasteland without a lot of official distillery bottlings
Glen Livet is a nice pour, but don’t think I’ll be paying the $515 my local is asking for this. Or $300 for the 17 year single cask. $100-200 is more my comfort range, it’d have to be a banger to fork over that much. Just my standpoint
I would recommend you look out for Glendronach 21 Parliament at $250 basically just runs circles around the Glenlivet 25. They're both are the more subtle and mild side, but the Glendronach is much more complex, has great texture and is half the price.
Well I can say that Macallan 25 is much better than the Glenlivet 25 but “worth the price” is largely relative to the size of your wallet. For me, only a handful of whiskies are worth $150 or more and this certainly isn’t one of them especially at $500. Macallan 25 is so far out of my budget that I could never say it was ‘worth it’ for me 🤷
@@kev004p It would be awesome if Macallan paid me but it wouldn't change my mind that they make whisky primarily for collecting and showing your status not for drinking. They make some good whiskies for sure but their prices are laughable at this point

I like the 12 quite a bit for the price, but i skew towards more intense whiskies
try the 18
i’ve been waiting for more videos from your channel 👍🏼👍🏼
Me too!
Good to see you back.

What's worth a $4-500 price tag in your opinion? Thanks for the solid review.

Once i become a Trucker and i will have more money to spend i will try this drink 😂❤
Nice job👍
Thank you!
If this isn’t worth the price then the Macallan 25 is definitely not worth the price.
