The vcx allscanner unit has a arm system on a chip ARM CPU , it actually emulates the VCM2 within that little STM ARM CPU, it's years newer the vcx , so the performance is about the same... The problem is some of the voltage pins for the trucks can't be emulated on vcx, so you will get connection issues etc , for later can bus ford cars it seems fine, the advantage of the vcx clone is it won't get software bricked by ford IDS , also the full chip clones all seem to fail over time, due to poor manufacturing processes and bad caps .
Have you tried this on your 6.0 yet? I'm looking into clones for a 6.0 myself, and I've found a supplier that offers the same board you have. I'd like to know how it went for you if you did try it, so I know before I buy one myself.
I’m going through the same thing I bought one off eBay that was supposed to be double boarded full chipped and when I couldn’t get it to work I opened it up same problem single board.
me paso lo mismo. me robaron mi equipo todo lo de el taller. trate de comprar nuevo equipo y compre un vcx nano. de la compañia vxdiag. y la misma cosa no sirven. compre en amazon un vcm2 y me mandaron uno igual que ese. nunca funcionaron probe con muchoas verciones y sin exito. hoy compre otro vcm doble placa que son dificil de conseguir porque ya casi no hay clones buenos. al parecer ya podre hacer programaciones. pues es igual al que yo tenia doble placa, funciona muy bien. si bascan traten de conseguir el que tiene boton para cambiar firmware.
very good information I bought a vcm2 like the one you show two plates came with the ids ver.101 work with about a month and then I stop working. The problem is that it doesn't connect to the PC. when opening the ids program I hope that if it works for you longer greetings from tepic nayarit mexico
Did you get it to work.? I'm waiting on mine. Coming from China, full chip version. I had them send me pictures of the pcb before ordering. I Also got the HDD version software.
I got mine to work, if you're curious. With a proper clone, it will work with the 6.0 diesels, and 7.3s as well according to the seller I asked. Presumably other Fords that may use UBP would work too. Mine does work with the specialty functions I've tested as well. You may still want to be cautious which version of IDS you use, and whether you connect your VM to the internet or not. Some versions will brick clones on purpose from what I have heard. Earlier versions of IDS were safe to connect online as they didn't attempt to do anything about clones.
@@ArbiterYT I received mine and it was a full chip design. I purchased the IDS already on a hdd thinking it would save me time, and it was v115. But it was not for the faint hearted. I have many years of computer knowledge and I still had some issues. What they don't tell you is that a hdd with older Windows 7 software will not just drop in a newer Windows 10 machine and work. It took a lot of work to side load the correct hdd controller drivers just to get it to boot. Then you have to get all the right drivers to get network access, display and keypad, chipset drivers etc. But it does work so far. I really don't know what I can and can't do as far as being connected to the internet. Not sure exactly what you need to connect to the internet for except to get asbuilt data? Which you can download and put in the ids directory. Thanks for your help.
@@Bobsbbq You can download updates for modules (ECU, FICM, etc) or program replacement ones. The firmware for module programming can also just be downloaded separately and loaded in IDS. Also, you may find it easier to run IDS in a VM. I don't know what their preconfigured HDDs contain exactly, but in a VM, you typically force a particular time on the system clock (through a VM RTC setting) and setup deep freeze, a proprietary software product. I prefer the VM approach, because it can run on almost any host, and doesn't require booting your computer off a particular drive just for IDS.

Bosch group (who make the VCM2 ) haven't made a diagnostic tool in the USA for years.. manufacturing operations where moved there early 2000's, they are all made in china ( real or fake ) so when I heard Bosch moaning about counterfeit products they have only themselves to blame, as the chinese cloned the blueprints when they went to China, this is the typical stupidity of a Germany owned company.
