I love watching your videos because I believe we entered the field at the same time (e.g., practicum during spring 2020) and we’re both currently 1st year school psychs. Spot on with your comments about the BCBA endorsement, you will get tons more work when you hang out the behavior expert shingle. To a marked degree has always meant to me: over/above and beyond what’s expected in a same age typical peer. For a Serious Emotional Disturbance qualification, the observed behavior should be much more severe, intense and last longer (extended duration) than would be expected in a similar scenario. You’re also considering the age and development of the student. Consider your opinions on the observed behaviors in your target student. Is this behavior markedly atypical considering their age and development?

i can't believe half of our training was during the height of the pandemic! made me flexible but it was definitely challenging. thanks for watching!
