    This is a thing of beauty. A while back was working as head mech/crew chief for 2 SCCA GT2/GT3 Mazdas. Became friends with 3 of the best West coast rotary engine builders including Daryl Drummond, the contract builder for the 1 gen Formula Mazda/Star Mazda cars. Seeing this reminds me of the many hours of meticulous effort that goes into building a strong, reliable rotary engine. A momentary slip of the grinder can ruin a port or housing but your CNC work alleviates that. I like the final blending and manifold matching is left to the owner saving time and possible mistakes of the critical details. Nice work. Would be interesting to see the M code for this.

    I'm absolutely loving the passion and precision you guys are showing. Is this the type of service that is suitable for hobbyists too? Or mainly for racing applications where cost is less of a requirement? I'm from Europe, and I'd like to know if you guys often handle parts from EU customers, because of the shipping and all... Keep it up :)

    • @rx7specialties203

      We do but you are correct. Anyone who send from over seas will suffer the high costs of shipping. Most customers who do send from far away use our Fed Ex air discount. We get 65% off so although its still a bit of $ it softens the blow substantially

    How does this BP effect apex and corner seal longevity? Doubtful I would ever go this extreme on my 7, but just curious. Great vid, as always!! 👍🏻

  • @marklawrence6678

    When you do the bridge port in conjunction with the housing being cut as well. You would need to use 1 piece seals?

    • @rx7specialties203
      @rx7specialties203  6 років тому

      Not on a half bridge because you can easily position the lose end of the apex seal away from the notch. In the case of a full bridge it is a good idea to use a 1 pc seals....or we can do a narrower bridge port on the primaries and skip the notch on the rotor housing.

    • @rx7specialties203

      We do this on all high boost engines to keep EGT's low It also allows for decent manifold vacuum and a good idle and better down low torque

      Bridge port does not respond the same way as it does on Peripheral port exhaust engines. Its not something we offer or recommend. We offer CNC street ported Renesis engines. For pricing please email us

    Beautiful work, what kind of power and torque numbers can you expect on a 13B utilizing the CNC street port ( no other hand work, just the machine work ) NA or turbo?

    • @rx7specialties203
      @rx7specialties203  6 років тому +3

      This really depends on the turbo you are using for turbo and what intake and EMS you use for NA. I can promise you that this process will yield the maximum gains though.

    • @rx7specialties203
      @rx7specialties203  6 років тому +1

      Extend port doesnt really apply to RX8...however we have a new CNC Renesis exhaust port. You can check out this video if you susbscribe it will be out very soon. This is the most beneficial porting one can do on any RX8 engine.

    • @rx7specialties203
      @rx7specialties203  6 років тому +1

      We do not. RX8 engine is not a good candidate for bridge porting. The ECU does not respond well to the overlap and low manifold vacuum and there is a trade off between power gains (which are minimal) vs poor idle and throttle response

  • @ATLRIOT

    How much porting can be done by hand? Building a Lemons 24 RX8 so budget is none existent but I can do unlimited labor. Looking for options since I have to tear down the motor anyways. Gotta try to make it last as we are running laps for charity donations to Saint Jude’s Children’s hospital.

    • @rx7specialties203

    The outside of the bridge and the coolent seal is to close, doomsday isn't far. Extended port is the best way to go, like they say, if the bridge is near, so is disaster.

      Correct however, most CNC machines do not have enough Z height to stand up the housing on its end. Secondly, the port entrances vary so youd need a jig that can be clocked to diff angles. Lastly, there are way too many different runner sizes to have programs for every production engine. I am working on full CNC for FD engine for starters as I DO have the Z height....but its a ton of programming and not as easy as your statement is
