hi thanks for the video, one piece of advice lose the intro graphics and long start, it took 1min 25 secs until you got into it, you will get more views if you get straight to the point.
Yeah I also think this is not how to do it. You have to remove the transparent parts, because the pins go underneath it. And they are glued onto it. Also your spacebar has no travel, because either you snapped of the new pins or you inserted it the wrong way. Apple made it not very easy to replace. So first: take of the transparent parts as well. Then insert the big white middle peace and glue the transparent parts back on (make sure to test it before, so it has travel). And then you can put back in the spacebar.
May I ask what MacBook it is. I have a MacBook Pro retina 13’´ A1989 from 2019 (4 thunderbold ports) with the same space bar but I can’t click in the first white part… I also saw many videos of people glueing the transparent plastic part. We are not supposed to take them out? Thank you for your help.
@@roddysejic5 Err... not that I can see. 0:26 Let's see how to do this, 0:28 spacebar is off with no explanation as to how - you go straight into the kit from Amazon. You do say how to replace the spacebar however. Otherwise a great video with very useful zoomed-in shots to show the detail.
Hmm, I thought you had to remove the transparent plastic bits first. I attached mine like you did without removing them and little white bits snapped off! Warning people!
I just received my spare parts from China and installed my spacebar. Your video is wrong, I think. There's no travel on your spacebar. I think you broke some of the small plastic knobs. You've got to remove the transparent plastic bits first. Also, when you remove the central transparent bit, it's important you put it back on the correct way.
No No No! The butterfly piece goes first and doesn’t *click* into place otherwise you will break a pin on the butterfly piece. Then secure the clear pieces. Finally the cover.
how did you remove the broken one?

you broke off at least one pin on your new butterfly crap thingy. and you have no key travel.. 🤦♂
I was like really? You just broke it and that should be the tutorial on how not to do it!

Sorry to hear that, but with me it fitted perfectly fine.
@roddysejic5 I've seen another tutorial where it was described that the plastic bits had to be removed first.
