Hi, we are Brandon and Kristine!
We picked up our empty cargo van in November 2020 and built her into our tiny home on wheels over the next year. We finally hit the road in January 2022 alongside our sweet pup, Hopps, with a motto to live with less to experience more. Our goal is to take our van, Fern, all over the USA and beyond and inspire people to step out of their comfort zone and do what makes them happy. We are so excited you are along for the ride. Excellent design and great work! I especially love the bench at the front of the build. It gives a useful separation and important access to the driver's seat in case you need to move quickly. I've followed Trent and Allie for years and I have to admit that it scared the crap out of me the night they were awakened by a guy trying to break into their van, even though I knew they had come through the experience safely. That convinced me that one needs quick and easy access to the cab for safety's sake. One also needs a fire extinguisher easily to hand and smoke and CO2 detectors. One also needs to be able to open the rear doors from the inside, something not always considered in minivan builds.
My family tolerates, and even appreciates, my need to have everything we need to hand. We used to rent a big house to hold all of us for a week in beautiful locations. I came with 4 very large storage bins filled with everything a good kitchen feeding 20 to 25 people would require. The last night was always hectic as I tried to pack it all away, while we were still using things. 😄😄😄 Crazy family, crazy times, but fun!

No! We were very much novices - barely picked up any power tools before starting! We learned through a lot of UA-cam videos and blogs :)

Hi I am creating my camper van and I like your idea of corner seat but I have a question : where is the table you are supposed to eat on ?
We keep it under out bed until we use it! There are loops where the table let goes in the corner of the bench. Kind of hard to explain without seeing it, so definitely check out our van tour video to see how it works! 😊
where did you get that ladder from? the expandable one that you used for the window!
We got ours at Harbor Freight, but they sell them at so many places! They are called telescoping ladders!

I’m tempted to do a conversion but one year to finish I just can’t do it
You could definitely do it much faster! We took our time building and only did it on the weekends, because we were working full time! And we took off the winter months because it was too cold. I've seen people do a full conversion in one month working on it full time!

We have a toilet in the cabinet that pulls out on drawer slides! And an outdoor shower. Check out our van tour video to see both :)

We have a toilet drawer! hahah
Keeping the sink so close to the bed is not a good idea,washing dishes will result in water splashing on the bed.
We haven't had any problems with it! Probably because when we wash dishes we use a very minimal amount of water, like dribbles hahah! But definitely could be an issue if we turned the water on full blast!

@@ruppert5134 we have an outdoor shower set up which is out the back doors! But honestly, we use public showers at gyms and things way more often!

@@ruppert5134 we definitely miss having our own shower but giving up that much space in such a small space wasn't worth it for us! We have a planet fitness membership, only $20 a month, and those are all over the country!
