The CBSA asks all those questions to determine your strong ties back in the USA. 1. How are you going to support yourself for two months? Work remotely, work whatever (indication of uncertain ties) 2. Do you still have a house back in Wisconsin? No, we don't (another red flag of uncertain ties) 3. Where are your possessions? Most are at our parent's house (No physical assets, major red flag of uncertain ties) 4. What are you gonna do in two months in Canada? Our baby brother just had a newborn (Why ditching your baby brother for two months?) 5. Can you give me a concrete date to return back in the USA? We don't have a plan, just go with the flow (suspicion to immigrate to Canada) All of your answers give a suspicion to immigrate to Canada on the grounds that you have no strong ties back in the USA. You are not allowed to immigrate to Canada without the proper visa. Simple as that.

Having a conceal handgun permit comes up with Drivers license from most states as well as registered guns. Not all states have a concealed weapon permit associated with the drivers license number. In my state any registered guns or permits will show up when the ID number is entered into any legal database.

Just came back from a trip to 4 countries in South Americe. And yes it felt safer than rumor has it At least in big cities never hail a taxi from the street. Either get the hotel to call you a licensed taxi - or use apps like Uber/InDrive. If necessary you can share drivers number plate and face pic with a friend. In Bogota a lot of taxis use InDrive Isnt good sushi kind of expensive everywhere? But yeah cost of food and hotels differ a lot from country to country. I found Argentina and uruguay to be relatively expensive, while colombia i had a private clean hotel room in the city center for 15$ (for 2 people). In Peru cheap hotel rooms sometimes doesnt come with hot water. Sun block often is expensive outside the West Only water in Uruguay normaly is safe in general to drink

This is my first video and I'm already enjoying! I subscribed definitely. I have a question did you guys ever make it back to Canada where you were able to cross? This is my first video so I'm not seen further past this. I've never been out of a couple States I was born in Florida lived in Michigan most of my life and lived in Ohio for a part of my life. I have been to a couple other states but I would definitely love to go to Oregon's Washington and then up into British Columbia!!!! Throughout the rest of I don't know if it's a Providence or a state 🤔😆 anyway I think that's amazing that you guys get to travel if I had the money I would definitely do it. My dad and I are going to win the lottery and that's the first thing we're going to do is get an RV and we're going to travel. I'd also love to go to Switzerland someday 🤷🏻‍♂️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 God bless both of you God bless your families be safe on your journeys.

Similar happened to us driving from Maine to Canada. Lady was on a power trip and very short with my wife, parents and I for no reason. We are very easy going people. We did have pepper spray because my wife runs and I like her to have something for self defense. So they had us go in like you, we got lucky and that agent was great. He asked if it was cool if he tossed it or if I wanted it when we return, then said he was going to give me my first Canadian souvenir with a form he gave me lol. No further issues, maybe it was because we had a set plan with stops in Canadian cities for 5 days. On the way back in through Houlton, the customs agent was hilarious and complimented me on my truck, said it sounded good lol. Night and day difference, took 20 seconds.

I know I'm replying to an old video but... The other comments have already pointed out what you did wrong. Now you know. I think the main problem was the vague 2 months stay. You need concrete plans. I wanted to add: 7:09 "Couldn't give him any answer" "Going with the Flow" Could mean anything including illegal stuff. They have to err on the side of precaution, unfortunately. Before I moved back to Canada (from US) I crossed the border many times per year to visit my family. Always told them the truth. I'm visiting my family in < location > for x weeks. I'm bringing over these items/gifts. That's it. Easy peesy. Took 2-5 minutes to actually cross. Most of time was spent waiting for holiday traffic. For any banned (basic) weapons if you declare them they would just confiscate them upon entry. Non declaration of illegal/banned weapons will result in more serious charges including arrest.

Okay, so here's the lesson, in case anyone missed it: When you enter another country as a tourist, they have to be reasonably certain that you are, indeed a tourist, who intends to leave rather than someone who is trying to enter illegally. For that reason, it's important when traveling across an international border, to be able to demonstrate a clear plan of exit and how you have the means to be traveling - another sign you may be seeking entry for work purposes, as opposed to leisure. That's all. The questions were extremely standard, actually. Also, check what is and isn't considered a weapon in the country you're entering. Rules are strict when going over International borders. Most places have VERY different attitudes on the right to bear arms than the US. Live and learn. Better planning and better luck next time :)

I was thinking about this telecommuting thing being considered "working in Canada." I think Canada should update their rules. If the corporate headquarters of their employer is in the United States, if the paycheck is printed in the United States, if the taxes are deducted for the U.S. IRS and an American state, the person is *not* taking a job away from a Canadian. Instead, the worker is taking money from an American company to pay Canadians for his gas, his food, his oil changes, his camper site rent, etc. These are arguably the *best* people to have in Canada. For two months, they would be taking money from *outside* of Canada to spend *in* Canada.

Sad story but you should know that crossing from one country to the other no matter how close of proximity it is to you needs preparation. Maybe being American passport holders makes one forget this reality, but coming from an African country and I eventually moved to Canada to live and work I know that some of this questions you were asked should have been better prepared for especially when are you going back, ambiguous 2 months with no date is a red flag for boarder patrol and second red flag is no physical address and jobs to go back to. Next time do your homework better.
