I find it interesting that the two robots that made it to the grand final both had one thing in common. They had really good pushing power. They weren't the fastest bots in the world but they went at a steady pace that allowed them to push around the other robot. Coupled with good weapons and they had no problem defeating two very good flippers.
Gravity was hugely impressive, its defeat of Dantomkia (which is also a very poweful robot) was spectacular. But then so was the control shown by Tornado. Gravity flipped them but they were nearly as effective running upside down (with the front wedge upside down), all Gravity could do was flip them again which put them right side up thank you very much. I would have been happy to see either of them go through. Masterful control by Tornado to park them on the pit and hit the button, and of course that put Gravity out of reach of the house thugbots and their pointless vandalism.
Just thinking if that's the height and distance dantomkia (100kg) flew after the flip from gravity wonder how far chaos 2 (85kg) who was beaten by dantomkia in series 6 would go if flipped by gravity 🤔🤔🤔
The XT guys are right. When you're facing a flipper that can still flip despite damage, you have to keep attacking. It wasn't their fault the match wasn't stopped sooner.
@@sirwoollyjumper4893 Not the driver he took it well. It was the guy in the middle that was getting a big frustrated by it. Tornado (seeded 1), Firestorm 5 (seeded 2), Dantomkia (seeded 5), X-Terminator (seeded 11), Bulldog Breed (seeded 12), Thermidor 2 (seeded 14), and Storm 2 (seeded 16) made it to the semi-finals. Spoiler if you don't know what happens this semi final Such a shame what happened to gravity. It had such potential, but it just had the wrong cards at the wrong time
Gravity had a phenomenal flipper. Only ones I can think to match it were Apollo and perhaps Wheely Big Cheese. I would have liked to see a lot more of Gravity, bad luck it drew against Tornado, quite often how far a robot got depended on who it had the luck to be drawn against. For example, had the draw gone the other way, Gravity vs Bulldog Breed my money would be on Gravity, and Tornado vs X-terminator my money would be on Tornado, every time.
Watching bulldog in the last fight was so funny. Man they cant drive. Def could of won it. Just drove straight into the front of exterminator over and over.......
Its a good job because Chaos 2 would have been all over the arena against one of the spinners,, or just out the arena big style,, Chaos was absolutely dreadful in the extreme before retiring it got mangled by 13 black. Hypno Disc mighht have got to the semis with a bit of luck but this point it would have been out manoeuvred far to easily by most of these semifinalists and if up against storm 2 it would have been absolutely bullied all over the arena, up against one of the gran finalists spinners it would have needed a bin bag sadly. Razer had serious motor problems in their final few fights, kept burning them out and had they fought in this war against faster stronger bots theyd have sadly been messed around with. This series on rewatching was the most competitive series of the 7 seasons by this point... there were flippers that were sending things out the arena that would have needed a 5 foot wall to keep them inside. The spinners were now ripping steel to bits.
Tough as nails vs bulldog breed was called wrong Style 1 point. Bulldog breed Control. 1 point. Tough as nails Damage. 2 points. Tough as nails Aggresion. 1 point. Bulldog breed 2 to 3. Tough as nails should have won
Just curious, what makes you think that Tough As Nails won damage? Neither robot sustained any noticeable damage (Bulldog Breed had prior damage from its Heat but that doesn't count in this fight) and they were both fully mobile at the end of the battle, so if anything they'd be equal on damage with zero points.. Control I think would be somewhat close, with an edge to Bulldog Breed; Tough As Nails did catch it in the pincers a few times, but Bulldog Breed got many effective attacks with its wedge and flipper. IMO, this was hands down Bulldog Breed's fight.
@@TheLegacyofHitchcock for damage, i just tacked that on so that was a little lazy, and tough as nails nor bulldog breed did no damage with their weapon. Both have nicks and that's it. For control, the flips imo should count for style, thus the reason i gave that to bulldog breed. Tough as nails grapppled bulldog breed multiple times and put it on the flame pit for a couple of seconds. That pretty much is equal to the times that bulldog breed just wedged him without flipping. I would give control to tough as nails though, as that was done for overall more time. Aggresion is pretty obvious. but this is upon rewatching the fight. So due to my scoring bulldog breed would win. The bias towards tough as nails probably was the main factor in giving in to it Also imo, grappler and control bots are my favorite type of bot. So i love bots like complete control, scorpios, red devil and wild thing
Yes and I thought Pussycat should've won the 5th wars against Firestorm because Pussycat withstood every assault and Firestorm was only semi-mobile at the end after taking damage in earlier fights. Pussycat were worthy winners of the 5th Wars title.
Bulldog Breed Vs X-Terminator can easily be summed up in a Simpsons quote:
"STOP, STOP. HE'S ALREADY DEAD!!!"
