This was recorded on VHS in the 90's.
Post game interviews of the Razorbacks after winning the 1994 NCAA Championship vs. Duke.
Also, the celebration ceremony in Fayetteville a few days later.
I am from Pittsburgh, PA. Im in my 40s and have been a Hogs fan since 1985 due to getting a T-Shirt from a family member who lived near Fayettville. 1994 was the Dream Season I had waited for. I was 17 and after years of tournament heartbreak, it all came together. The 1990 FInal Four loss to Duke....the 91 second half slaughter by UNLV at Barnhill, and losing in Elite 8 vs Kansas, 92 Memphis Upset, it finally all came together and they won. My friends for years talked trash on the Hogs but this was MY TIME!!! What a great tournament run. I have a blown up picture of Thurman's rainbow three on the wall in my office.....It hasnt been the same since but I am still a huge Hogs fan. Just hope the glory days come back around.
Nolan Richardson was the man and a class act all the way. How things ended with him was sad....that man created 40 minutes of Hell! and was not treated well on his way out.
Thanks bro, we have a pretty good team this year too, Sweet 16 (and last year, as you know-elite 8)!!
Yes, he was a GREAT coach..unfortunately the way of "the world" always seems to be "what have you done for me LATELY"-peace.
@@brentad2004 Yes, right aftter I typed that over a year ago they got hot and have been ever since. As for Nolan, for everything he did for the Hogs (just look at their record from about 88-96) they did him wrong. If you havent ever seen it, check out his HOF induction speech. Its fantastic.
Back to back sweet 16s for first time since glory days of the 90s.....If they are going to lose I hope its in teh sweet 16. back to back elite 8s would hurt more.
@@jimmyplenderleith9471 Hey, you never know (about this team), if you remember right (or if I do lol), they were saying that 94' team was still "a year away" at first; but this team I think still needs some key pieces to go all the way (like BETTER shooting, and a better inside presence)..and yeah if they go elite 8 (again) and lose, it would "HURT", but that stat would really help recruiting!!
@@brentad2004 You make valid points. I'm not comparing this team to the 94 or 95 teams. I would even say the Todd Day / Lee Mayberry / Oliver Miller Razorbacks of 89-92 were better, but I think sweet 16 or Elite 8 wouldnt matter with recruiting. Either is fine. Missing the final 4 two years in a row would be rough. Especially if they get by Gonzaga in the sweett 16, which will be a tall order.
I am from Arkansas and was a freshman at the University of Arkansas in 1993. I love Nolan Richardson. He is the Greatest Coach in the history of the University of Arkansas,
At least we made it!
10:53 "next year they will be sleepless in Seattle".............hahahahhahahaha Yeah they were sleepless alright...........Losing to UCLA
Ugh, f that game.....that 95 tournament was weird for the Hogs. They never really showed that same gear they had in 94. If Lawrence Motoun from Syracuse doesnt pull a Chris Webber and call a timeout he doesnt have, the Hogs are out in the second round. Their final four win vs UNC was more because UNC couldnt hit a shot to save their lives for like 12 minutes. But even so, to this day, the names of Cameron Dollar, Tobey Bailey, and the OBannon brothers are not spoken in my house....
You a UK Fan? I miss the days of the top 10 UK vs Arkansas games. I will give credit, even during Hogs heyday in 94-95 they didnt win the SEC tournament....lost to UK both years........I still hate Kentucky hoops to this day!
@@jimmyplenderleith9471 I'm a UK fan but live in Arkansas
@@jimmyplenderleith9471 Yeah I don't blame you about not saying those names. . lol. . They just send chills down my spine. . They are hell of players though. . Ed O'bannon especially. . . I actually have his college UCLA card and his NBA rookie card.
@@jamedlock83 When UCLA loses games today all these years later, Im still happy to see them lose!
Tough break for the Cats in tourny this year......
Nolan took all the blame for that loss. Just the same way he gave away all the credit to UCLA. He has said many times he did not motivate and was not focused to the degree he needed to be and he let them down
