Fun fact, Rautavarra died on my birthday. Jk, that’s not a fun one, it’s pretty heartbreaking, I was really hoping to study with him one day 🥺 he, along with Schnittke and Donnacha Dennehy are my favorite composers, let alone musicians, in the world! I remember doing a paper about Einojuhani’s 7th symphony Angel of Light in 2015/2016 ish, it’s really too tragic to miss out on meeting him :/
2:02 Probably the most charming passage I've ever heard from Rautavaara. Simply wonderful
You have redeemed yourself from the calls with this great gem you have revealed to us. A thank thee.
Fun fact: Hilary Hahn also played Rautavaara's violin concerto

This is so nice, I might try learning both parts but adapting the violin part to marimba
Beautiful! Reminde me of his Notturno from Notturno and Danza, but less harmonically advanced
Yeah, it feels more simplistic than his notturno e danza. But it's still a really charming piece!
Beautiful
How do you discover these pieces? If people hadn't uploaded some of these obscure pieces i would've never found them
I listen to spotify in shuffle mode, and when a piece calls my attention, I do some research on it.
Nice
Where can I find the sheet music?
Idk
Soporific.
