A half an hour walk outside after dinner, a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar diluted in some water in case of heartburn or reflux, valerian if I'm overanxious or tense, and sandalwood incense in a well ventilated room about an hour before going to sleep. Helps to relax and soothe body and mind. These have been helping me through perimenopause hell. Wish all the best to everyone going through this life stage, and my most sincere gratitude to you Eileen, because you've been providing us women, information and power about what's going on with our mind and body that is many times, overwhelming. Thank you, from Portugal.
Am in full blown menopause and falling asleep is my biggest problem...putting on some relaxing melody on utube does seems to help...will fall asleep but then wake back up after an hour....then may drift off again....but sleep is really a struggle not only in the perimenopause but. Menopause and post menopause as well ...so many women has this trouble some issue and dont know what to do about it.....I have tried everything and it is still a struggle for me.
I’ve tried everything since going through menopause. The only thing that works is a zanax before bedtime and even sometimes that takes a long time to kick in.
I am so grateful that there are videos like these that educate women. We never really learn this from school. I am learning these now because I feel that I am in my perimenopause now at 41 years old. I just noticed this changed this year. Thanks to your advise.
Hi Sonia, I know exactly what you mean. I have been struggling with insomnia for months now and have tried everything possible...know your comment is from 4 months ago. If I may ask have you found anything to help you sleep? Or has this finally passed? I would really appreciate your response. I really need help. I hope you're doing better. I appreciate your response.
2 kiwi at night may help. I go on and off with this sleep, I go to sleep fast then may wake for what seams to be hours. I lay there and think of things that don't go together and my daughter said to press my tongue to the roof of the mouth, it helps but it sounds so silly that it could just be me I don't know.
I’m only 27, but have been experiencing a lot of Premature Ovarian Insufficiency symptoms. The BIGGEST being insomnia. It’s an absolute nightmare. Thanks so much for the tips, hopefully it helps
Hi Skippy Hypericum is recommended for low mood and anxiety and is not a direct sleep remedy but, some women do find that if they address low mood/anxiety then they sleep better. Just be aware that Hypericum can take about 4 weeks to kick in so you may find the Dormeasan Sleep drops more effective and quicker acting. www.avogel.co.uk/herbal-remedies/valerian-hops-dormeasan/ Best Wishes Eileen
Apart from this reacurring lack of sleep. Getting to sleep staying asleep. I'm soooooo glad this is all over and with. I'm waiting for the drops to be delivered so to get me back into the sleep routine again.
I seem to have gone the other way. I can fall asleep in moments. I do folk music and go to folk music sessions that end quite late and I struggle sometimes for that last half hour, drive home fine and fall into bed. In the past I would have been awake for ages after an evening out.
Can u do a program on ladies that are going through surgical menopause. Is there anyone on here who is going through surgical menopause i need some support
Hi Karen I have posted a video blog on how a surgical menopause can affect you so please do take a look. Hopefully, it will give you some information. www.avogel.co.uk/health/menopause/videos/mirena-coil-pill-hysterectomy-how-they-impact-menopause/ Best Wishes Eileen
If I read in bed, once I stop, I get up, go to the loo, move around, etc. Then back to bed and sleep. My daughter in her teens would lay awake for ages before going to sleep after reading. But getting up, moving, tidying the bed, made all the difference.

A friend recommended A.Vogel Hypericum drops. Would you kindly confirm if you would suggest that too for sleep issues?
