Why are these guys so down on Stetson Bennett? The guy only played in the preseason. And was obviously going through something major in his life. That made him miss the season. We need more time to see him actually play in more games. Before we make a decision to keep him as a backup
As long as he earns the backup job with solid preseason play, then why not? He was a draft pick. It's okay to give talent more than one look, but then objectively decide to keep or cut. There are some backup options right now if he underperforms.
Stafford is getting paid his worth for his age and production. No way give him a new contact. Need the cap space to resign the young players. And we need to draft and develop a young quarterback of the future.

I agree. Why do people want Stetson Bennett to fail. It sounds like he was burned out by the non-stop of school and high level football. I think he did well considering. It could be Travis and Doug are right. But, I think they are wrong ti bet against this man. If he wants it, he will get it. I had this feeling once before….in 1999

Stetson will not only make the team he will beat out Garofalo for #2 QB. JG ran a 4.97 ( basically 5.0sec) 40. I’m sure he is much slower now! IMO he has not proven himself as a reliable NFL QB. His TD - INT (94-51) ouch! Don’t bet against SB4, he prevails and then overwhelms. If he wants to be a starting NFL QB, then he will be one.
Correction. Bennett was not “handed” anything too early. He played in the preseason and was below average. Then he left the team. He better make it count, Perkins was not treated as good after two exciting preseasons.
I liked Perkins a lot. Seemed like he had the skills yo be developed into a starter some day, especially learning from stafford and Mcvay

@@rogeliobaeza9915 McVay raved about him in both preseasons. Afterward, McVay turned on him. His first chance in a regular game was against the dominant Champs, KC Chiefs and he was barely allowed to throw in the first half. Almost all plays were RB or QB runs. In the second half he was forced to throw (23 total passes and 9 runs total). Had an interception and a couple of high balls. Why is “practice with timing and experience to develop rapport” an okay excuse for Stafford? However, development grace was not applied to Perkins.Then, against N.O. they only called TEN passes and he ran 5 times. They made him predictable and one-dimensional. The next chance he could have redeemed himself was a game that had no real meaning… That’s the game they flew in Baker (on the plane before the claim). So, they preferred to try someone who never practices one snap than to try and develop Perkins. He was not “trash”, he was sabotaged.

Dresser Winn is a Ram QB. He last played in 2022; never played a NFL game. He has a high completion percentage (65), but through 11 interceptions to 18 TDs! Maybe a running threat? Nope... less than 1 yard per carry. People want to trash Perkins, but look who got hired now. Doesn't matter if he probably won't make the team. He got a chance. Just saying.

Jeff Fisher was actually the right coach to shepherd the move to LA. He helmed the Oilers’ tumultuous relocation from Houston to Memphis to Nashville and made it to the Super Bowl in three years. Edit: come to think of it, so did the Rams, just without Fisher.
