This concerto for piano and violin is another masterpiece of the fabulous composer that was Hummel, unfortunately little known to the public who prefer this genre of music. The harmony is magnificent and the connection between the outstanding soloists and the orchestra are sublime. There are moments of incredible beauty lyricism that only an amazing composer like Hummel could have composed. The two soloists are fabulous not only for the sensibility they impose on their interpretation but also for their virtuosity.
The orchestra and direction are fantastic.

We should finally realize that Hummel is not a minor composer. He is sometimes viewed as secondary to Mozart but, for God's sake, all composers are secondary to Mozart. Hummel did not copy Mozart - he just drew from the same sources.

Hummel had may contemporaries other than Chopin and Listz, Mocheles, Ries, Hertz, Kalkbrenner and others , many others who are not played tody but can be found on some CD companies romantic concertos series
. I have been collecting piano concertos for a long time and a lot of very good music is not geting played
