You make it look so easy, but anybody that plays knows what it takes to achieve the cue ball control that you demonstrate. Thanks for continuing to show me how I should be doing it. Maybe I'll get it right more often. I feel great if I get 4 or 5 consecutive, near perfect positions, but then I do something stupid.
I have played around ten times a week for 3 years now and can't even make half of those shots. 😂 He knows the spins so well. Even that last 8 would have been weird from me. 😁
I appreciate your lessons and the way they are presented. I've been playing pool for 58 years and always found that playing was a great way to unwind, and of course fun!. I recently gave my son a very nice extra table I had. He is a critical care doctor, and having this as an option to unwind after a long shift is working out great for him. He has been watching some of your lessons and playing every day. We get together every week to play for a few hours and his improvement every week is amazing. Your technique of teaching with excellent logical explanations is very similar to how I have been teaching him prior to your videos. One thing I do when I find my game is off, missing things I shouldn't, I play a couple racks one handed to make me settle down, concentrate and get my steady aim back in place. It always works for me. Thanks for your great lessons.
I've only been shooting pool for a year...and I have learned so much from your videos. Even the people in the league I play in say often how they have seen me improve. Thank you for all you teach!
Thank you very much for all your videos. Made my first ever 8-ball break and run yesterday evening in the local bar 😍 Couldn’t have done that without all your tips!
I use a side break because of exactly what happened in the second break; if you fail to make a ball on the break and spread the rack to that extent and don’t make anything; it will be your last shot against a good player. This is especially true on bar box tables where if you get to the last 2 balls before the 8 and the 8 doesn’t have a pocket you have to play safety shot. Great video as always.
The break is random, you can break 100 times with the same power, hitting the cue ball in the same position, placing the cue ball in the same position and you’ll never get the same results. You might pot from the break 80-85% of the time, or you might pot 20% of the time or even not pot at all. In pool the break is the most frustrating thing and can most of the time, win or lose you a game for you. The best thing you can do is find a position on the table you feel most comfortable having the cue ball and just practicing the break. Each table will play different in a competition environment and cloths will play different. Just something I wanted to add. I really like the video though, great tips! Keep it up!
Random trajectory of the balls but like the top players aren’t the luckiest people in the world at the break they are very very very!! Good at it so i don’t understand the comment at all
@@madyottoyotto3055 the problem is not physics. He is right. You will never have the same break twice. Its impossible. A proper rack has every ball in there without a gap between them, but there are gaps, these gaps make the brake odd. You can use it to your advantage, find where the most gaps are, and bright from the opposite side. If you see there are more gaps on the left side of the rack break from the right side. This will guarantee you that that area will break up more evenly across a table.
A good break is definitely key I liked how you talked about playing into multiple shots as well, I’ve seen a lot of good players mess up a hard leave and ruin a run when they could have played a shot where you have 2 or 3 options depending on speed and angle I always like playing into those because it gives you more flexibility and the next ball is usually easy to get on
I am a huge fan of Sharivari. But these were truly wide open layouts, and of course perfect for the basics of getting thru a rack. I would like to see him play a couple of racks with a cluster or two, balls frozen on rail, etc.. Love all your videos. Keep up the good work!
This is a great video for many players that struggle with their break and with ball selection after the break. For some players shot making in itself is a bigger factor than ball selection. Overall a fantastic video and tutorial for simple 8-ball break and pattern play. Many will get a lot of good information and if they put it into practice will see improvement in their game. Thanks for putting in the tremendous effort it takes to shoot, edit, and post videos like this. It’s really a fantastic way to promote pool and increase the quality of average players around the world. Maybe some future world champions are getting their start here.
2.5k away ....see i told you a couple months ago you would hit 100k....Thank you for all the knowledge you share..People don't like to see other people succeed anymore 😕
Thanks Sir Sharivari for this drill for assisting us 🎱 ball players, thanks for this tutorial video 🙏. God bless you for your assistance & please consider video of us people who don't have pool tables at home which is gonna play a vital role in making sure we are at our best.
"that means playing the right shots"...no truer words right there. I see more players struggle from poor shot selection than anything else. TY for the video.
The best tutorial I saw until now, great method to play and show for effective leaning, thanks many thumbs up 👍👍👍 Still trying to understand the physics of english and its rotaction after it hits the first second or even third surface. I liked your ways to explain and show the shots. Can you make some video on the rotation on ball after an english deployed on ball. There are many tutorial on your tube but no one is focused to show slowy that can make a learer like me to understand it slowly. Im sorry if im bothering you with it
Like the bridge and cue stick view when taking the shot. Have not seen that before. Adds a little more confidence in trying to follow the instructions. Thank you very much.
Seeing the cue ball hop straight up on the break is always nice. Those always seem to be my best breaks and it makes sense because I must be hitting very squarely on the first ball for the cue ball to go straight up and not to the left or right at all. Less power and more accuracy is a big help if anyone is struggling on their breaks. It's so much more difficult to hit accurately when you put in more power so until you hit the ball you are aiming at as full as possible you should try lowering your speed even if that means a less powerful break. You will likely get similar results with more accuracy even though there is less power.
I never got to play real billiards before, but i do have a mini pool but i cant make spins in it, but im just practicing myself, cause love billiards! Im new to ur channel and just subbed cause of ur awesome tutorials and tips! Thanks man!!!!
I have benefited tremendously from your pool content, particularly the Go Pro videos. I highly recommend increasing your Go Pro pool tutorials. Thank you immensely for your time and effort.
To ShariVari, I really like your relaxed 😎😎 demeanor, while explaining your lessons! Just this last one, made total sense. My break is my most inconsistent shot 🥃🥃? Thus your instruction, made it's point! Following the break, I call it finding the road map 🗺️🗺️ for the run out. Usually for myself 🙂😉 I can drop 5-6, of my object Balls consistently!! I'M a natural Banker rather than a slicer per say? Those slices particularly in the side pockets really mess with my Mojo. Where I play through out WYO, Montana, and other locations, the Tables are the 4-half by 8ft size Bar Tables. Referred to as Valley-8 tables Mgf by Cougar I think 🤔🤔🤔🙏. As your other commenter said the surfaces, can really vary a lot. The cushions, are never the same, (unless State Tournament, or a sanctioned event). Then they will try too conform somewhat with them. In reflection here I like your style,& theory, along with your choices, and your very Easy Manner. Thank You Very much for your teaching Sir. I'll stay tuned in. Wyoming, Robert, 🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸😎😎👀👀🤔🤔🙏🙏🙏
I would say I am slightly above an average player like if I go to a bar I’m typically the best person there but if I go to a pool hall I am not and I would say that these videos are super helpful thank you so much
I have just recently saw this and I found it to be the best instructional video on running out 8-ball rack. Love the different options you show on patterns. 👍👍👍 Looking out for the other videos to help me improve my game as I do play rotation and other games as well.
back hand - loose , 90 degree front hand - v grip, closed O grip look back and forth to the object and cue ball then look only at the object ball breaking - slight left or right then hit straight to the first ball and try to get cue ball at the center 🎱🫡
Fantastic. Your comments about problem areas and finding a key ball (and how to get a good shot on it) are so helpful for strategy. Really enjoy your videos!
This video is amazing! It really explains so much detail easily! Thank you for answering the questions I didn't even know I had! I'm going to keep diving deeper into your channel. Thank you for this channel you're doing amazing!
Excellent video, as are all of yours. I like the grouping of balls - never heard of that concept before but it makes perfect sense - I think some players do it subconsciously . I have used the "key" ball, which we call the "exit ball" - i.e. "Make this ball, then make the 8."
I just gotta say, that I absolutely love your videos. I’m really not the type of person that likes/dislikes or even comments on videos but I just gotta say it. Great videos!

Great Video Sharivari! Watching from The Philippines. Here we play Rotation or 61. I once played with Mika Imonen here when he lived here for a while to learn Filipino Pool.
To me, I keep it as simple as this: Consider the shot you are taking like you already made it. Then look at where the cue ball will be for you next shot. Mental visualization leads to sharp focus.
I like how you say grouping the balls is so important, identifying any potential problem areas and identifying the key ball on the table. I also like how you identify the right side of the ball to be on, By the way lefties rule.
Absolutely awesome video... in general your videos have made me realize several things that I couldn't rationalize before... this will definitely improve my game! Thanks!
Interesting. I understand the desire to play one side of the table at a time, rather than moving back and forth the full length on each shot. But I always kind of just hope to manage to do that when I start playing the rack, and if it doesn't work out that way I play all over the table and just say pool is a funny game sometimes. Making note of groupings before deciding on the first ball would definitely make the table easier to plan. Playing a 2 or 3 ball group and making shape on the next group sounds a lot more simplified than planning an 8 ball run.

I would really like for you to explain in witch situations to use English. Then what English to use. I’m starting to learn a bit more. Sometimes I do fine, but I get confused, because I keep thinking to also figure out where the cue ball is going. I haven’t played for over 5 months until a couple days ago. I just watch it every day on here. You and Efren Reyes. I know if I try to ply to often like him it’s confusing when getting to the table. Thank you. I know you can help me.
i break from the same position but i put bottom on the ball so it hops straight up about a foot off the table giving all the other balls time to get out of the way and lands back down, usually in the middle of the table. worth a try your way though!
On the break I place the cue ball Just before the middle dot and about an inch off the rail I am directly at the second ball. And hit the cue ball in the middle and what happens when the cue ball collides with the brake a ball will come off the side rail and into the eight ball and pocket the eight ball in the side pocket It doesn't matter which side of the table you placed the cue ball on. And if you don't pocket the eight ball on the break you do scatter the break very well
I’ve been playing pool for over half my life and I never knew how wrong I was doing things, thank you for the channel I never knew I needed.
You're welcome Ryan.
"Sharivari - The channel you never knew you needed." I like that!

Yea cause every table has different cloth speed so the only way to break consistently is finding the sweet spot on that table with the precise power
That's not how physics works
But it is nearly impossible to hit one ball in the same place that's the whole idea of pool
Random trajectory of the balls but like the top players aren’t the luckiest people in the world at the break they are very very very!! Good at it so i don’t understand the comment at all
You say the break is random but I can hit it so 3 or 4 balls do the same thing every time within a fairly small area

For reasons of space, I would have to put a 5 ft. table in the basement. In the club there are 9 ft. tables. Do I "screw up" my technique if I train on small tables?
Thanks for the answer

And hit the cue ball in the middle and what happens when the cue ball collides with the brake a ball will come off the side rail and into the eight ball and pocket the eight ball in the side pocket It doesn't matter which side of the table you placed the cue ball on. And if you don't pocket the eight ball on the break you do scatter the break very well
