      @@shopsabre yeah, funny story. We originally purchased a CNC machine from a company based in the United States but who’s tables are made in China. After several months of waiting, we had to cancel the order and that’s when we went with Shop Sabre. You guys saved our bacon! We are up and running and have happy customers now.
      I have since gone back and looked at the differences between their machines and yours and I’m so happy we got the Shop Sabre.

    Great video. I would have held the part by just setting it on the spoilboard and running the vacuum. Why the need for the gasket?

    • @shopsabre
      @shopsabre  3 місяці тому

      Gasket assures more pressure and holding force to the part - better to assure the part does not move than risk the loss of material

    What kind of bit is that one, the one you used for the Polycarbonate to get that smooth edge?

    how would you price this project, ie, a custom polycarbonate shelf for an airplane company/owner?

    • @shopsabre
      @shopsabre  2 роки тому

      Generally ShopSabre doesn’t do work for hire, so pricing would depend on the region and market.

      @@shopsabre i'm not asking for a quote, rather, how you (as router bob) would price such a project so i can know what sorts of things to take into account if I were to offer this service. thanks!

    • @shopsabre
      @shopsabre  2 роки тому

      We understand we (RouterBob) don’t have a model for quoting.
      Generally you charge your labor rate and material cost markup

      I would be careful making things that are permanently bolted down inside of an airplane...lots and lots of liability...most interior objects need to have burn tests done and several need to be TSOd before installation. Now if it is just a tray liner or something that just sits in the plane, that isn't a big deal.

    Double sided tape would have been easier

    • @shopsabre

      There is reasoning for fixturing, you could have used double sided tape but in this case we did what made most sense for us for the edge finish we expected.
