The roof system you created is fantastic! The building is brawny, built to last several lifetimes. It is a reflection of your work ethic and dedication to doing things the right way the first time around.
Wow!! Awesome Framing and Roof Build!! Also Love the Rough Cut Lumber! Layers of Insulation, and the Perfect Venting under the Standing Seam Metal!! Super Strong, Super Insulated, Super Vented, Super Good Looking!!! I wish Rough Cut Lumber was more available! That is the Best Venting of a Roof System in Any Weather Zone!!
Hey Ron, thank you for taking us along to your build on your property. Your hard work obviously translates into your nice property in Redfield. Nice place to come to after a long, hard days work 🍺 🍻
Nice job Bondo. Time for siding, roofing and couple of overhead doors. Then a garage full of sleds. Enjoy your weekend and a Merry Christmas to you and your family. Keep up the great content. Cheers!!
Classic looking building, superb structural, insulation and waterproofing details. You give all the PhD's a real run for their money. Excellent work, Merry Christmas and a Happy and prosperous New Year to you, the family and crew.
Love the way you build. Green with envy here. Building a 12’x36’ shed right now. Just finishing the floor. Did you have those metal trusses fabricated for the garage?
Nice very nice great garage hangout, last forever, as long as it has a good roof and that it does, that would make a great cabin also very well insulated ,
Definitely saved this build to my restoration playlist! I'll want to come back to it in a couple years when I should have enough saved to replace my shop roof.
Considering the snow load on the roofs in that area, I think it’s a wise decision to overbuild. It looks like the whole building is overbuilt, I did the same here with my back shop addition. Better safe than sorry. You need one of those $450 Stiletto framing hammers, or a Martinez, that will stop you from smashing your fingers! LOL 😂 Brand X has them! LOL 🤣 Very well built building! 👍
I like how you did that roof, I see a lot of people using hardly adding wood under it and it looks like if anybody stepped on it it would just crush and dent and look like crap and sometimes you have to go on the roof
Love the rough cut lumber. I try to build with as much rough cut hemlock spruce as I can. Sturdier than store bought and looks much nicer. Though I usually do post frame with purlins and 16’ tie beams to tie the building together.
Way better than a pole barn, yup 😆 I’m just finishing up my building, similar to your foundation: tall stem wall and 2x6 framing. 36x48 and 16’ to the ceiling. Mine is sheeted and premade trusses like a house. R-21 in the walls, R-48 blow in above sheet rock ceiling.
Hmmmmmm It so good to hear!!!! Happy holiday 🎉🎉🎉🎉 I enjoy your video and your humor. Makes me smile when you give Hmmmmm. That Beer 30 has me all over the floor 😅😅😅😅 laughing. That a beautiful build. So strong.
i love over-built stuff, lookin' good, i learned about roofing striations after i had my metal roof panels installed, oh well maybe next on my next project.
I usually don’t care for perlings on a roof system but I really like this a lot what is the ice and water guard and vapor barrier that you used looks like some really nice stuff?
Dang Bondo is that in tornado country ? You're building that garage pretty stout . At the end of the world there's going to be two things left... Cockroaches and Bondo's building !! Lol that IS a compliment
Add slate and steeper slope and get a 1000+ year rated roof. In Europe many slate roofs have exceeded 1000 years and are still functioning as if new. None of the buildings in US are that old but slate roofs in US are rated with unlimited lifespans if maintained. Nice job with no valleys or penetrations should last longer than 100 years if metal is painted as needed to control corrosion/rust!! Ray
@bondobuilt386 i thought there was enough pitch to the roof, and the truss system seems plenty strong. But the unknown amount of snow and if it's getting gutters, got me thinking. My house has a steep pitch, but the gutters keep plenty on the roof. You guys do beautiful work!!! Oh, and one more thought I had did you consider just bolting the plywood to the trusses. Basically, putting it under the purlins and bolting both down.
Your garage roof is better insulated than most houses! I would think, though, that the screen material should probably have been powder coated. Did you do anything to it to prevent rusting?
C-clamps make adjusting boards trivial. But A+ work there. Your bronze metal can do two purposes in the winter. Since all your fasteners will be avoiding your air gap, you can drop in pex under yur metal and during the winter months actually pull heat from that roof during daylight hours and dump heat to the roof at night during summer months.
Hey Bondo, did you buy the vent metal and have someone cut & bend it, or did you go to a metal fab shop and just give them specs, or something else? Your garage looks great! I need to find a standing seam guy here in KY that's able to do what your guy does. 😍
That Roe is a great helper! Maybe give him a bonus treat for his hard work! It looks like this isn't the first framing rodeo you two have been through. Noice work! Do you have any issues with that green lumber shrinking/moving?
Phenomenal 👍😎🎄🏁 where do you guys go hunting. I Got a cabin down south Lookin at getting a Concrete swim pond. For my gran kids lol. 50/ 60 z. in daytime close to. AR. Let me know 🏁🎄 Happy holidays 👍🎅🏻🎄🌟
There are people who will build on the cheap not ever thinking that everyone will get older and doing a halfassed job now only to do it over when they get older it might be more money now but at least you were thinking ahead and no worries when you get old.......gopher went and dropped a gopher
Ron why did you not use the Italian mother quilt trip on big Biscuit, and get him their helping you and his little fur brother?😂😂😂 One of my High school friends his parents was old world Italians and both of them always put a quit trip on him to get him to do things, saying that how could he allow his feeble mother/ Father do such a hard job at their age, that the job may kill them at their age.
I want to keep my taxes low up there and just want a small building to hold my side by side and snowmobile also a place to hang with friends in between our rides.
I keep thinking that I'm watching the wrong video.... it's title is about a roof, but here you are building like a garden garage/shed type thing. I mean... cool build, but there is no way the roof on this thing is 100 years old... is there? IDK - Regardless, thanks for sharing this project with us.
Bondo is one of the best concrete youtubers, his community building skills is unmatched other than Ryan. Salute sir
Better, no drama!
💯
Thanks Bobby that means a lot from you my friend.
The roof system you created is fantastic! The building is brawny, built to last several lifetimes. It is a reflection of your work ethic and dedication to doing things the right way the first time around.

thanks for watching and commenting. And I agree.
Overbuild is the only build! I like it! Thanks for taking the time to show it to us!
Understatement of the viewing evening!
The bug screen is super duty! As one who has had to deal with bees, I appreciate that detail. I’m going to steal that idea!
wow on the details. Most homes are not put together this well.
That looks like first class work. Well done.
Thank You.

Thank you and merry Christmas to you too.
Looks great 👍 I appreciate the attention to detail
Very nice building!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year To the crew and your audience family
Thanks Chip. Merry xmas to you as well.
Ron, Nice job on the framing, definitely not going to fall down!
Thanks.
Love the way you build. Green with envy here. Building a 12’x36’ shed right now. Just finishing the floor. Did you have those metal trusses fabricated for the garage?
Cool that sounds like fun. No I found them used on marketplace.
Nice very nice great garage hangout, last forever, as long as it has a good roof and that it does, that would make a great cabin also very well insulated ,
Thanks and it doubles as a bunk house for friends that want to stay at my camp because the cabin is tiny.
There’s nothing you guys can’t do. Very nice job. Top notch right there.
Thanks appreciate that.
I ❤ Amish green hemlock and Amish metal. Price is right.
I used to saw my own hemlock but it's cheaper to buy from them. I still have a mill though.
Definitely saved this build to my restoration playlist!

Thanks and yup this should be sturdy to walk on.
Thing of beauty! Thanks for showing me!
Thank you.
Very well thought out and quality built. Great work!
What a great little build
That is one fantastic equipment shed/hangout spot. Very nice. :)
thanks I think so too.
Love the rough cut lumber. I try to build with as much rough cut hemlock spruce as I can. Sturdier than store bought and looks much nicer. Though I usually do post frame with purlins and 16’ tie beams to tie the building together.
I love building with rough cut hemlock.
Well done! Wishing you and all of your team a Merry Christmas... 😁👍
Merry Christmas as well. Thank you.
Great job and YES it's far better than a pole barn .No wood in the ground.
definitely better. thanks.
I only counted five layers 😂. Awesome job Bondo. Very nice.
Metal truss
2x10 perling
2" foam
2x6 rafters
Roxwool insulation
5/8" plywood
Blue skin ice and water guard
vertical 5/8"X 4" perlings
Horizonal 3/4"x4" perlings
standing seam metal
Thanks 👍
Great job by the way love the channel .
I am planning on a Barndominium using the same framing. Looks strong.
Such a great way to build a building You will love it.
That’s gonna be a sweet hangout! Not bad for a bunch of rock scratchers!
Rock scratchers that still kills me. LMAO
Way better than a pole barn, yup 😆

i love over-built stuff, lookin' good, i learned about roofing striations after i had my metal roof panels installed, oh well maybe next on my next project.
I like the old school look with no striations.
Awesome build
Thank you
nicely done ron
Nice, concrete man and builder. Merry Christmas to all!
Interesting video thanks for posting
Your welcome 😀
Nice roof
Thanks James BOND 😀
I love the way your roof is engineered.
Nice nice job.are the rafters already made or did you guys make them.happy holidays
I bought the stele trusses on marketplace used and we made the rafters from hemlock 2x6 rough cut lumber.
I usually don’t care for perlings on a roof system but I really like this a lot what is the ice and water guard and vapor barrier that you used looks like some really nice stuff?
Thanks it is called Blue Skin. I loved it.
Looks good Bondo you’re an animal man.. She’s solid and overkilled for sure. Bomb proof.👍🏻
I'm incorrect... after a second look, my bad!
Nice looking build...!
Thanks
Hell of a roof , I hope a tree doesn't fall on it. Happy holidays, guys
Ya don't say that. LOL
Has to be strong, for them wicked snow loads.
That ridge cap is sweet,,,,
Hello Bondo. Like your videos. Can you tell me the fittings you use for the hydronic radiant in slab heating. Please. Thank you
Awesome details!
Dang Bondo is that in tornado country ? You're building that garage pretty stout . At the end of the world there's going to be two things left... Cockroaches and Bondo's building !! Lol that IS a compliment
LOL thanks for that.
Yes a real barn raising! 👍🏻

Looks good
thanks.
Whats the snow load there? Wondering if a loop of heating coil under the purlins would save a lot of worry about weight.
That black metal the snow will slide right off. It already started unloading snow.
@bondobuilt386 i thought there was enough pitch to the roof, and the truss system seems plenty strong. But the unknown amount of snow and if it's getting gutters, got me thinking. Where did you get the trusses? Are they made locally?
Bought them used on Marketplace.
83 👍's up BB thank you for sharing 🤗
Excellent!
Is the structure strong enough for all that you used to build that rough?
It is all overbuilt. from the foundation to the tip of the roof cap.
Hey Bondo, did you buy the vent metal and have someone cut & bend it, or did you go to a metal fab shop and just give them specs, or something else? Your garage looks great! I need to find a standing seam guy here in KY that's able to do what your guy does. 😍
I had a metal fab shop just make it but they charged me to much I think.
Must to be great to have one inspector dog. Mine aren't so good...Gotta have 3 inspector dogs and one forcat. Hard to find good help these days 😪
Ya I will stick with just one inspector dog. LOL
Vent screen is great to keep the roof dried out as well
I just built a shed with Almost the same detail. lol. Used black standing seam too
That Roe is a great helper! Maybe give him a bonus treat for his hard work! It looks like this isn't the first framing rodeo you two have been through. Noice work! Do you have any issues with that green lumber shrinking/moving?
Where did you get trusses like that!?
Used on Marketplace. LOL

Did the trusses come from the Restore?
Bought them used on Marketplace.
Nice roof system, but I suspect the ridge vent design shown will not work as described. I'd be curious to know if It does....
it will work he has it on his other bid's like that and they are cool
Awesome
Thanks.
Nice
thanks.
Perhaps the only thing missing is a layer of rigid styro to eliminate thermal bridging
Overkill!
Heavy duty.... 🙂
Thanks.
Built like a brick outhouse.
Thanks. LOL
How are you able to use rough cut lumber in up State NEW YORK .As apposed to the crap eng stamped lumber from lumber stores .
Most important where's the beer fridge going 😊 ?
U should of put poly between insulation and sheeting, for vapor barrier
Polly can trap moisture in a roof assembly.
Where are the Amish located? Are they the ones right after Richland?
There are people who will build on the cheap not ever thinking that everyone will get older and doing a halfassed job now only to do it over when they get older it might be more money now but at least you were thinking ahead and no worries when you get old.......gopher went and dropped a gopher
Ya he did. LOL and yes I want to enjoy this space when Im older and not have to fix things.
5/8 plywood on the roof😱 what are you trying to do park your truck up there ?🇺🇸 nice job.👍👍
Ron why did you not use the Italian mother quilt trip on big Biscuit, and get him their helping you and his little fur brother?😂😂😂
One of my High school friends his parents was old world Italians and both of them always put a quit trip on him to get him to do things, saying that how could he allow his feeble mother/ Father do such a hard job at their age, that the job may kill them at their age.
Big B not gonna fall for that he knows his old man too good. LOL
Do you want trusses or rafter framing?
YES
LOL yup both.
That building will still be here when the pyramids are gone.
lol I wish.
Who is the roofing company? Thanks
Bondo you need to put a seal underneath that seal plate and the wall
I have sill seal between the treated sill plate and the wall.
No air space on the roof to breath . It will sweet and insulation will get wet and mold
There will be no issues because there is n condensing surface with all the insulation and my air space above the roof deck.
Good morning Bondo. Looks Great thanks for the video 🤙🔥🇺🇸
Why did you build such a narrow garage at only 16'?
I want to keep my taxes low up there and just want a small building to hold my side by side and snowmobile also a place to hang with friends in between our rides.
@bondobuilt386 I understand......it will definitely stay warm in there, and you will never have to replace the roof.
@@robertnash2446 Yup thanks.
That roof........... You expecting a rockets second stage to drop on your head or something, lol???
LOL never know.
@@bondobuilt386 - Well, your def........ahem......covered then. Nice overbuild, just like I do sometimes. 2 thumbs up ☺
@@mistersniffer6838 Thanks man.
Gets heavier late in the day, don't it?
For sure. LOL
To quote the words of Jim Morrison ( WE ARE ALL JUST TOY SO
DIERS IN A MINIATURE DIRT WAR ) LOL 😂
that's 4 buildings in one 100k$ mini shop lol but there's 100 ways to skin a cat
You should say "alright guys" a little more. 37 times per video just isn't enough
Thats a stupid comment if I ever seen one.
@bondobuilt386 saw one
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You should warranty your roof for 300 yrs, not like your gonna be around to honor it.
Warantee it to myself. LOL
( TOY SOLDIERS IN A MINIATURE DIRT WAR ) 😂LMAO

Oh.... duh... my bad - you are showing us a way to build a roof that will last 100 years. Got it.... I'm a little slow some days,
@@tylerbarrett6652 lol now you get it. have to watch it all lol.
That thing is built like a brick shit house. It will be there a hundred plus years from now. 👍
thanks and I'm thinking so too.
