- Today we bring you up one of my favorite Smoky Mountain roads, The Moonshiner 28. Along the way we stop at Bridal falls and Cafe REL for a bite. Lots of shots of my pal Scooter keep this Blog moving as you see a true Dream ride.

Adam I tried to send you a message but it didn’t work. I wanted to tell you that I’ve wanted to ride since I was a kid, but things always came up and prevented me from learning. Then I started to watch your videos and my brother also at this time got his endorsement, and it it just reinvigorated my want to learn. I then found a Harley corse and on July 4th I bought my first bike and I have had a blast ever since. So I want to thank you for being one of the people that inspired me to get my endorsement and buy the damn bike.

Hey Adam. Nice ride today! I used to like to go fast through the twisties, but nowadays, I appreciate the sights and sounds, the smells and the added safety of a reasonable pace. When racing as many do, you risk the convenience and safety of others as well as yourself. Enjoy the ride! These past few videos of the ride are really a nice formula for those living vicariously.

I like the area best from Highlands to Franklin. The road is better there than 28 below Highlands where it beats you up. 28 is just a good daytime biker road. That stretch near the "Tail" that goes for miles beside the high lake. 64 near Lake Lure/Bat Cave is also good. 74 on Nantahala Gorge is good outside rafting season. Brasstown Bald and Blood Mtn in north GA heading down to Dahlonega is also a good back scenic twisty.

I have been working as a Operations Manager for a very large company for years.....I have had very nice bikes and had them for years and sold them after 5 or 6 years with 500 miles on the speedo.....It seems like i never enjoy my toys...I am living thru your eyes now...! Thanks for the trips you have taken to help me get by....!

Just completed tail of the dragon and moonshiner 28 as you showed us to include the IronHorse Motorcycle camping sight. We did not stay based on weather prior but did stop in pay respects will return.

The triple nickel rt. 555 in Ohio is 64 miles of hills and turns. Also intersects with rt. 78 that's a higher speed curvy Rd with some great scenery.
State Route 311 Virginia. Very scenic parts and twistys. Roanoke to I64. There is an old general store at Pain Bank with great food. Super ride.
If you haven’t rode Cherohala trail you’ve got to check it out, it’s what you like the beautiful long sweeping curves with spectacular views 😎👍

One night she comes out of the bathroom and catches us in an intimate but still manly embrace!! Many lives were ruined! M.
You said you were heading to New York so take river road on pa side above Philadelphia is the way to go. It will take you through little towns then through water gap great views then cross over into jersey across last privet own bridge called dingmans ferry. You'll want to video that because when was last time a old dude that owns a large bridge came out of a both to take a dollar from you? Anyway it's on your way and way nicer then the highways up here as people be crazy up here. Ride safe love these videos.
If you get time watch Keith Codes film called Twist of The Wrist 2. It’s s the best tool for any skill level rider. It’s cheese but a good.
Hey buddy from your vantage point i don’t know if you can see this or not but it looks like scooter is standing higher than his collar will allow and pulling down on the back of his neck pretty good,, you can tell by the way his collar is “V” shaped at the front on the bottom ,,not trying to be a buttinsky or nothing ,, just not sure you were able to see that from where you are sitting,, then again his internal leash might be like bungie cord ,,, just thought id pass that on to ya buddy look back at the footage you can see what i mean ,,, and again God bless you both !!!

Bridal Falls is right up the road from my house.
Do you have a list of your top 20 or so places/routes to ride? Like a must ride/favorite type rides.
28 from Deals Gap to Highlands is one of my favorite rides in all of the mountains! I'm glad you got to ride it. If you haven't already, check out Rt 64 from Highlands to Rosman, then 178 down to South Carolina. Then Rt 11 heading east and then you can ride one of my other favorite roads, Rt 276 all the way to the Blue Ridge Parkway. You can stop at "Pretty Place" on the way, Poinsette Bridge (old covered bridge, big tourist attraction and photo op. Once into the Pisgah Rangers District there is Looking Glass Falls and then Sliding Rock. Once up on the Parkway, make a right and go to the Pisgah Inn. My buddies and I are meeting at 10am at the QP Gas station on Sweeten Creek Rd. Short notice, but maybe you're already packed up and ready to go.

I just drove Hwy 64 from Franklin to Highlands this past Monday. It was in a minivan, not on a motorcycle, but it was breathtaking. I love that 9 mile stretch with the river running off to the side.
Man, Scooters lovin that ride. Beautiful run up through there. Thanks for takin us along.

You're close in the pronunciation. You're just adding an extra a in the middle of Walhalla. I believe it's a Germanic spelling of the word Valhalla. In Norse mythology, Valhalla is a majestic, enormous hall located in Asgard, ruled over by the god Odin. It's pretty much what we would call Heaven. So there you have it, you kind of started your ride in Heaven.
Hope you went on up 28 to Highway 74 to 28 toward Fontana Lake. It gets even better. I'm guessing you did since you were at the Iron Horse and the Dragon. Ride safe Adam and Scooter.
Have you ever been to Skyline Drive in Virginia?? It's a BEAUTIFUL drive through the Appalachian mountains. Beautiful during the spring and Fall! Just a suggestion if you haven't been there yet!

I've got a great idea. When you've done visiting all the Harley dealerships, try eating a burger at every McDonald's in North America. You will need to get Harley to make a 300 cubic inch motor
To carry all the necessary medical equipment. Scooter can join you and he'll need a mobility scooter for dogs.🙊

Hey Adam, just road the moonshiners 28 in early September there was new pavement just north of franklin, it was a great ride. Anyone who is going to that neck of the woods, that ride is a must DO.
I have a favorite stretch of Route 66 in Oklahoma. Maybe I can show ya some time.

28\64 is my go-to rides. Not too busy. Not so technical that you have to concentrate on the road and miss the scenery. You should've kept going on 28 past Franklin. Nicer roads. Higher up. Safe travels bro.

I guess I have always taken the great areas that I live and ride in, for granted.
I grew up in just across the line South Carolina on 28, was always a tough decision as to which road to choose at fork, 28 or 107 the store at the junction is/was called Cuzzins General Store and was featured in National Geographic magazine in the late 80's or early 90's for the regular Saturday night jam session. This also the area that Deliverance was filmed on the Chattanooga River, take that as you will!
And now I currently live in Yellville Arkansas,and I know that you frequent this neck of the woods occasionally. Where just up the skreet from the Buffalo River and not far from Eureka Springs and everybody's favorite Cathouse.
So come see us we'll leave the gate open! (In both states)

Oh Adam, I love watching your videos. My husband passed away right before I got my license and we wanted to travel long distances together. Unfortunately, cancer took him in 2014 and I'm now stuck in the house without motivation to ride (although I really want to). So I watch your videos for motivation/inspiration and one day maybe I will see you and Scooter on the road. Safe travels my friend! xo Josie
