CURRENT SCHEDULE
Expect a new video every Sunday and Wednesday at 11AM Central!
How Farms Work by Ryan Kuster is a UA-cam channel based in rural Potosi, Wisconsin. Our mission is to teach those who didn't grow up on a farm what the farming life is like. These videos show the Kuster family working together raising cattle and crops. We believe everyone who wants to know more about farming should be able to share the farming experience with us and we look to educate the world on many essential agriculture topics.
How Farms Work takes place on ~1,100 acres with around 75-200 cattle at any given time. Four John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm, which are a 4020, 4640, 7600, and 8235R.

The cinematography of this channel is second to none. Simply awesome.
Right? Top notch! Got a second career option for sure!
Ryan is leaps and bounds ahead of all the other farm channels as far as cinematography.

Your drone work is superb. You really captured the beauty in the harvest season. It is my favorite time of year. May you be blessed with a safe and bountiful harvest.
When you put that piece of tape over the unloading spout on the auger it finally mastered the black belt in karate. Great video Ryan.
That combine is so great. Video is amazing. Thanks for taking all the time to shoot and edit.
Loved the slow motion footage with the combine. You're a skilled photographer and combines are incredible machines. Blows my mind that they take in so much stalk and cobs and get (for the most part) just the grain into the hopper.
Raining candy corn in the bin 😄 Awesome video as always.
My father-in-law used to say “ If you can’t fix it with duct tape, it can’t be fixed. “ When he passed and we cleaned out the garage there must have been twenty rolls of duct tape in different amounts of tape left on them.
Another one of your signature great cinematographic vids Ryan. Really loved that shot around 8:15 or so looking into the corn as the combine approached.
Really neat videos of the combine head and the bin distributor moving the corn. We live along a county road and the trash in the ditch is never ending.
This video was a work of art! Thanks for taking us along
Great intro! And yes, duct tape fixes everything. Thanks and keep the great videos coming. Enjoyed and much appreciated. Take care, stay safe, and good luck with the weather during the completion of harvest.
Congratulations on starting the corn harvest
Really like the music portion, great video
Hey Ryan!! Glad harvest is going well for you guys. Hoping for high yields and no break downs. Good luck.
Man, what a difference the new combine has made. Great vid!
Excellent auger repair Ryan, Red Green would be proud! I've never grown corn but realize the feeling of the reward of a years work finally being harvested with payday right around the corner. I hope the corn price treats you well, I have no idea what is good or bad.
Great Video Ryan, It's fantastic to see you guys getting stuck in and bringing in the corn, thanks for sharing
Spectacular drone footage and great editing. Thanks Ryan. This is the best video of corn combining I have ever seen.
Great video Ryan thoroughly enjoyed, it's so sad to see how lazy some folks have become about disposing of their own trash, it's a nationwide problem, keep your trash in your vehicle and dispose at home very simple concept, take care looking forward to next corn harvest video
Great video Ryan and Excellent drone footage as always. Thanks for the videos. If it was me I would be throwing that garbage back over there fence!!
The 46 and the 79 look cool side by side.
Great job Everybody, and slick camera work Ryan💯👌👍🙏🙂
I'm really happy to watch your video, I hope you will grow and create for the benefit of all our compatriots with love. And it's an honor to have you visit our channel, we can discuss more about our experiences in harvesting and building farms.
Great video Ryan - thanks!
Thanks Ryan! Really great footage...so detailed! Loved to music as usual! I hope your yield averages stay up!
Longer videos please I enjoy them but there so short
Excellent videography. Very impressive.
Great job 👏
This cinematic drone footage is awesome! I feel like I’m watching a National Geographic special called “green machines”😎
anouther great harvest video love it thumbs up and shared
It will be interesting to see if the solar farm has any effect on the temperature, etc. on the surrounding farms. Great drone work as always Ryan! 😊
Great video as always man!
Great footage❤❤❤
Nice video thank you
Really enjoyed the video and drone shots. So sorry you have to have the trash from the solar project hope they see this to stop the trash
Thanks for the video Ryan our corn isn't that good up here in NW WI Sawyer no rain when we needed it beans not good also. Take care of yourself and family and friends and be Blessed ❤️❤️.
GREAT footage and editing!
Great video beautiful harvest season. That gorilla tape is 👍. I found some silage tape that is equally awesome around the farm
Good Content! 👍
I am suprised that 9770 will handle that 12 row corn head that good engine in the combine must be turned up a little
Way dryer than here in eastern Ohio. We have 107 day corn planted back in early May that just tested 25-30% (27%avg) when I went out and tested. Have a safe harvest!
Another good video as always, we knew as soon as we saw the rips in the tube the duct tape would be out. 😂. You had so many great shots in this video like you always do but the shots from above the combine were great. Always look forward to your videos cause it’s like watching a movie with the camera work. 👍
Great video and drone footage Ryan. That’s really high moisture on the corn I really hope you can dry it down with just air, it looked too me in some places it was still green enough to chop for silage. Good luck with harvest 👍
I have to agree with you. Warm and low humidity days would be needed. Hope they are successful. Otherwise be seeing video of having to move corn around. IMHO
Nice video 👍👍👍👍👍😎🇺🇸
ye we like that combine 🙂
Buen video
What an awesome video, Ryan! I dare say, one of your best!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!!
Eric
Cool to see the 46 on the grain cart and the 79 on the wagon😉👍 duct tape is very important on a farm😅👍
The trash from the workers is not very nice😬
The solar panel farm will one day become a haz mat cleanup. I hope they incorporate grazing and you can rent it at the right price.
you need to find a local Industrial AC supply store to get good flex ducting material cheap to fix the auger. Should only be a 10$/ft.
cool video for you to put the 7920 on the grain cart to have the cvt transmission
stirrator video cool
Great video, thanks for sharing. I remember you saying in the past and again now that you have to get a certain amount of corn in the bin before starting the fans. I often thought that running the fans while putting the corn in the bins would be a golden opportunity to clean any foreign matter from the corn, simply blowing it out the top while the heavier corn would settle. Just curious why you have to wait to turn the fans. The only idea I could come up with was maybe the floor isn’t bolted down and could lift? Just curious. Wishing you and your family the best.
3:20 thats a lot of damage, better call phil swift 😀
So you peaked my curiosity, on your grain bin setup. I've seen the center diverter stuff, but the big wide part in the top of the grain bin is that like a sturator or something? One of those first time seeing that type of a setup stiring up the grain on the inside of the grain bin. Just threw me for a curve was all.
I wonder if ya ever switch to a air system for gain handling for the bins usuing a grain vac to blow it into the silos using pipes
Thoughts on a second gravity wagon behind the EZ Trail?
Incredible job what God Provides to eat
Hey Ryan I don’t comment much if at all but I noticed you haven’t changed your description to five tractors yet. Just wanted to let you know. Awesome shots too!
It's a shame seeing all that farmland in the background becoming a solar power plant. Keep doing what you do and I hope the fancy air system you all have on the bin can pull down the moisture on your corn!
How are the prices at the mill between high moisture corn compared to dry corn
Ohio state university 😂😂😂 ohh yeah it's a go let's go 👋✊🥤🎉
Where did u find the earbuds I remember u promoting them but don't remember Thamks and good videos
what is the moisture content of the corn?
Duct tape, don't farm without it! Lol 😆
Thanks Ryan. You know... you have to start adding kittens in your videos (like a *FAMOUS* You-tube farmer is doing.) 😃
can see that the 9770 covered more acres faster than 9510... do you guys miss the 9510? lol good luck with harvest
Sounds like it’s time to invest in a dryer maybe?
I'm surprised that corn was alright to go as green as it looked
Hey Ryan, Dad, Travis and Andrew, Thank you Ryan for another great Video. Corn look good a little wet still but clean. The Combine 79, and the 46 in a line looks cool. Take Care, Take it Easy and Trust JESUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just simply say to those guys working on the solar panel project for everytime we see bottles or trash on our land we are going to smash a couple of your solar panels I bet the trash goes away real quick on your field
So is that a neighbors land the solar farm going on?
It’s crazy taking really good farm land and putting solar farms on it. It’s going to hurt someday. Wasting good land!
Yep, $2,600/acre was the highest offer we received.
Them solar panels on the field next to yours make me want to throw up, great video tho
Take your loaded manure spreader to there office and have a discussion about garbage and it'll change
Eric
Nothing like bubble gum and duct tape. The solar panels are good but they don't know what to do with the ones that are 30 years old as it has harsh metals and chemicals inside and no program to recycle them! But the garage can be done! If it was a green project how come the utility did not put recyclers, trash can. We are now getting a good waste bin for composting in the city.
🇺🇾
Duct tape to the rescue!
Hey Ryan that's very rude of the solar energy company to put trash on your side of the fence I would not like that at all if my neighbors had something at their house and it's spilled over into my yard.
Just wait, do the research on having a farm near the solar panels and talk to a lawyer to protect yourself
Just wish you guys would be truthful on your yeild you were dry most of the summer. But they need to brag there the best farmers around.
Nope, there's music playing, so I'm not gonna watch It.
Your drone work is superb. You really captured the beauty in the harvest season. It is my favorite time of year. May you be blessed with a safe and bountiful harvest.
