I grew up in Japan in the 70's at Tachikawa AFB. I remember those brutal humid summers. To see you perspire like that, it must be just awful. But at the end of the night, good friends, good food and enough alcohol makes you forget the heat. Such a fun video!

This is the best kind of day. No major plan. Checking out a quiet place full of culture and history. In my 3 years there I regret missing the chance to see a sumo tournament much less check out the sumo museum. Things to remember for my future return. Pocari Sweat takes me back. Also love CC Lemon!

This is one of my favorite parts of Tokyo. While I was there I got to visit the sumo museum and then I got taiko lessons a few blocks away, one of my favorite Japan memories for sure

I did something kind of similar. My school is opening a new campus so we went to go look around the area to see where we could go out to eat and what shops were around. It was hot outside, but I had a lot of fun and it was nice to just walk in a new area, that isn't a tourist area, without a plan.

8:53 It's important to note that although many people know only about the controversy of the Yasukuni Shrine and of the convicted 14 war criminals(interestingly just convicted for "waging a war") More important than that, there are 2,466,532 Japanese men, women and children who lost their lives in the war laid to rest there. On top of that there is a memorial there for Koreans and Tawinese who fought on behalf of Japan, as well as another memorial for anyone regardless of nationality who lost their lives in the terrible war. It's sad when you have other youtubers treat the shrine as a kind of tourist spot to visit for pictures and videos or because of the "controversy". The shrine is sacred ground and deserves the utmost respect and prayers for the millions of souls resting there.

    Good morning from San Diego.
I just got back from Japan so I totally know the heat and humidity evident in this episode. Made me want to stay indoors in A/C all day. Kudos for getting out there and exploring.
And those mosquitoes leave big welts that itches for days.

I recently moved to Japan from the states (husband in the military) and while I acknowledge my experience is different from yours, your videos help me appreciate the beautiful opportunity my husband and I have been given being stationed in this mesmerizing country. I have been binging your videos and I appreciate your honesty and vulnerability. You inspire me and give me courage to go out and explore. Wishing you the best 😘😘 Love from Yokosuka. Any recommendations for a romantic weekend getaway? Our anniversary is coming up

Can you visit my old stomping ground Yokohama? I lived there from 1992-2002. I moved to Japan three weeks after graduating from college and never looked back. Now I'm about four years away from retiring from the career I chose in the U.S. and want to retire in Japan. I'm much older now and it will be interesting to see how my outlook has changed since spending my formative years there. Next time I visit Japan I'd love to have a beer with Ryuji. Is that weird?
