I have to say you are the best MUA you tuber, TRULY...relatable, sweet, sincere, like being a friend you wish you had. Don't ever lose your playful, genuine qualities it's what sets you above and apart from everyone...I count you as a blessing this year for sure. Xo❤
Thank you, Kelly. You always say the nicest things and it always comes to me when I'm questioning myself. I lost a few subscribers from this video which shouldn't make me question myself but it did a little. I've never been one to look at my subscriber count so I don't know why seeing that would have an affect. Anyway, thank you. As always you've made my day and I appreciate you so much.
Julie, you are too cute! I wish you lived closer. My daughter is getting married in June and hasn’t been able to find a MUA who isn’t booked - she left it a little late I guess. Thank you for your content!
🥰 Thank you, Mary! Where do you live? Good makeup artist are booked up far in advance. You could try calling a MAC counter near you. They freelance when they're not working at the store. They may know of artist who used to work there who still take freelance jobs too. I hope they can help you.
We live waaaaay on the other side of the province from you on Lake Huron - I think she’s resigned to doing her own with the help of her hairstylist. Meanwhile, I’ll keep watching for your tips!
I think magnifying mirrors can be our own worst enemy at times . Like you said, no one looks at us with 10x magnification or that close to matter . Just remember you are beautiful xx
When I was 13, my grandmother took me to Merle Norman for a makeup tutorial. I remember all of it and adored my grandma for that very special treatment.
Robin, what an amazing Grandmother to do that for you. That's something I would do. I used to love Merle Norman. I even looked into owning a franchise years ago.
Good idea about meeting other women your age and up. I’m not sure where you live but often that’s a hard thing to organize. This way, via utube, we all get to visit with you😁🥰👍☺️😌❤️❤️❤️
Gosh, what you are saying about the meetup sounds perfect. If only I lived in Canada or you lived in the suburbs of Chicago! You have wonderful ideas. ❤
I started wearing makeup at 15 for my first retail job . I started loving and enjoying makeup at 47 .❤ I love your idea of a womens self-love supporting women. If I lived nearby, I would attend for sure 💯. Just pace yourself, Julie. dont go like a bull at a gate like I tend to do from getting over excited and then wiping myself out . I love the fenty stick , the Fenty soft luminous is my favourite foundation, and the Fenty Toners have been my constant for years . I must try the concealer . The Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin products I have tried so far have worked out well for me. I look forward to watching from afar what 2025 brings for your channel and ideas . 🎉❤
I started wearing make up in high school, and learned a little along the way. But I really started learning do much when I began watching UA-cam beauty channels about 5 years ago. And I'm 70, but make up is still good fun.
Yes, at 70 it should be still fun! That's going to be me, Debora! I'm going to be wearing sparkles until I leave this earth. I'm so happy you enjoy it. I like playing up my mood of the day and it can change my mood too. I used to work at a store and this beautiful silver haired lady would come in with her bright pink lipstick on. She was beautiful. I'm not sure how old she was but it didn't matter. I saw a women who loved herself. She lit up my day every time I saw her.
I had an idea last night when I couldn't sleep that I should start off asking women in my neighbourhood if they wanted to come for a coffee. Like a meet the neighbourhood type of event. I could ask some of them if they would be interested in attending something like that. I also had an idea of asking some of my makeup artist friends if they'd want to meet up to discuss how this could be done. Maybe it doesn't have to be all me. Maybe I could have a few professionals join me. I think that's a good idea too.
I am absolutely am loving your content. You are so beautiful inside and out! I also love that you are from Canada. I am not sure where you are from but love the idea of getting together with a group of women. I am in Niagara Falls, Ontario. ❤
😍 It so fun to play, Stacey. If I had to go out for a special occasion I'd be using what I know works for me, of course, but it's so fun to play and figure it all out. Do you have any of the products I used?
So good to see you Julie. Girl, you have so much patience with your makeup. Not me. lol. Absolutely 💯 on your re~ do. So very pretty. Love your eyeshadow look also. I have worked so hard for past almost 4 yrs on good skincare products and consistent and my skin looks 💯% better as far as texture and hyperpigmentation ( I’ve been doing Platinum Skincare TCA Peels also and WOW! I’m with you Julie on friendships. I have been looking for over 2 yrs for a female Group and women just don’t have time and or don’t want friends and or be part of a group. If you started one, and I was in your area I for sure would join. It would be Soo fun. Even women that are single and or divorced and live alone like me don’t want to be in a women’s group. I wanted to start one maybe once or twice a week. Dinner ( everyone bringing their fav dish) eating together, getting to know one another and have a “ Topic” after 1st get together for upcoming get togethers. I can’t believe how many single, divorced, etc are staying so isolated and love it. Not me. I really encourage you to go for it as you will do great. Do you have a gym and or walking track where you could go and hope to run into other women and start up a conversation? lol🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🙃. It never worked for me. Women are strange humans. 😊 hang in there and you will meet some great women as your in a larger area aren’t you? I’m in such a small little town and if your not from here, your an outsider. 🤷🏼♀️. Have a great rest of your Sunday. 😊
There's a kind woman who has consistently invited me to join her group. I often reach out to her to let her know I'm thinking of her and to express my gratitude for her efforts to include me. Yet, I resist the friendship-not because of her, but because of me. She lives a different lifestyle, and she's been part of her friend group for years. They all know each other's husbands and children. It's my own insecurities that make me feel like an outsider, but I can't seem to shake the feeling. I've attended a few of her events and quickly realized the women are all wonderful. Still, my insecurities hold me back. I'm much more comfortable in small groups where I don't have to struggle to hear or navigate environments with a lot of drinking. In my ideal setting, alcohol wouldn’t play a significant role-even though I enjoy a glass of wine now and then. My vision of connection doesn’t include wine as a regular staple. I hope to meet interesting, unique, and somewhat like-minded women who don’t rely on wine to make social gatherings fun. I believe it will happen. In fact, I’m going to take action now. Last night, when I couldn’t sleep, I imagined writing an honest post on my neighborhood Facebook page, sharing the truth about how hard it has been to meet other women. I might treat it like a dating ad! 😂 Perhaps I could host a meet-and-greet at my house first to see if anyone shows up. Then I could float some of my ideas and see if any of them resonate. There are so many women working from home these days-I’m sure I can find someone in a similar boat. I think it’s best to start small and gradually expand into groups where beauty conversations and other interests come into play.
@ that’s me Julie. I wouldn’t fit in where there’s a lot of drinking and a large crowd. I’m looking for small intimate group setting. Even numbers as you know if there’s an odd number, one will always get jealous for whatever reason. 👀🫣
You're right and I normally do that but I was really trying to see what the stick looked like without a lot of powder. I'd like to try Pound cake. Is it pound cake or cupcake? Let me look. Yeah, it's Pound Cake. What colour do you have?
I have my eye on that fan brush from Réphr too it looks so good when Hung Vanngo uses it. Love that brand! I think I was 14 when I stole a 20 years old eye liner in a sea green from my mum and used it on my waterline 😂
😂 Sea green sounds beautiful! I love the fan brush. I love applying blush with it and highlighter. This one feels sturdy too. In a soft way if that makes sense. OH my goodness, the Milk Jelly Pop blush stuck didn't it? I didn't think it would since I freshly moisturized my skin. I thought I would have a little more time to spread it out. Too funny. Have you tried it yet? I would like to try a softer pink. It was out of stock when I purchased it so Chill was my only option.
Thank you! It was a little all over the place but I had fun. I was surprised by the Hourglass powder. I remembered loving that palette but is it ever different looking at myself in 4K. I can see everything.🥴 I'm not sure it's a good thing sometimes but I can't lie to myself anymore.😂

I love your look in this video! Your eyeshadow turned out gorgeous! And I can relate to your wanting to leave the house. I have been unemployed for nearly 8 months and haven’t been out much. I have a new job opportunity I’ve applied for and am hoping to get. I think that’ll allow me the chance to meet new people. I love your group idea, and hope you get the chance to do it. 💜❤️🩷
Thank you, Donna! We're meant to be around people. Alone time is good too but I've had far too much of it over the years. I hope you get this new job!! May I ask what you'd be doing?

Hi Julie❤ Tbh… I bought that Fenty stick foundation when it first came out, and unfortunately I’m not the biggest fan of it🥲 it just doesn’t lay the best on ME🤷♀️ idk why exactly… there’s nothing I can put my finger on, it just doesn’t look as good as others that I own. Dior of course is my favorite, Tom Ford is a great second. I just think I have too many good foundations in my collection to keep trying one that isn’t the best on my skin (and I do believe everyone is different… one that works wonders for one person, might not work the best on someone else🥲) Love you and hope you have a wonderful New Year!!
You're right, Lynn. I love Merit Complexion Stick too. This isn't the one I would choose either. It's ok but I loved my skin so much better with the liquid foundation. @@JulieMeikle Victoria Beckham has one of the BEST eye pencils I’ve tried (although Lisa Eldridge’s is a close second❤️❤️) I love her kohls!! I’ve got mostly eye products from VB and they’re superb!! Lisa Eldridge I’ve tried her seamless foundation that she came out with a few years back… it’s nice for a night out, as it’s a heavier, more matte finish. That being said, I don’t use it much just because for everyday I prefer a more dewy skin tint🤷♀️ and I’ve not tried hers yet (but I REALLY want to!!!), I just know it’d be right up my alley❤️ I’m currently on a Dior kick😂 I go between their stick foundation and their Face and Body. The fragrance of the stick is quite strong, and that’s the only downside to it… but I love the finish so much that I just plug my nose until it’s applied and usually by then the fragrance is gone👏🏻👏🏻❤️ Anyway, can’t wait to see what you think of VB and Lisa Eldridge… I think you’ll love both❤️

I’m currently on a Dior kick😂 I go between their stick foundation and their Face and Body. The fragrance of the stick is quite strong, and that’s the only downside to it… but I love the finish so much that I just plug my nose until it’s applied and usually by then the fragrance is gone👏🏻👏🏻❤️
Anyway, can’t wait to see what you think of VB and Lisa Eldridge… I think you’ll love both❤️
