Hi Barbara, love all your videos. What a lovely result of your gelliprinting. Don’t forget to put some oil on the gelliplate. And clean the stamps from paint. The lovely Beatles name maybe Bent / Hi from Sweden
I feel so guilty. I bought an 8X???? something Gelli Plate, Brayers and even a glass kitchen Mat to put it on (then I can pick up the glass plate to look at the underneath side to see what it will look like after the pull). I think it was about a year ago. Oh and a 24 pack of Acrylic paints. And I haven’t been brave enough to try it yet. My big fear is that I’m gonna die and my kids are not gonna know what it is. But actually, everything in my craft area would confuse them. Lol. Now that I know my Cancers not gonna take me (treatment is going really good), I need to get brave and just play. Cause I really think if I mess up a page, I end up with great Collage Fodder. Lol. Thanks for inspiring me…. Again. Lol♥️♥️♥️
Hoping for a full life ahead for you. I know my son will be shaking his head with all my craft supplies. I’ll need to leave specific notes on who gets all my STUFF/SUPPLIES.
I hope you pull out your Gelli printing supplies - they’re so much fun! And there are really two rules - one - if you don’t like your print, it just needs more layers & two - don’t use a heat tool as it hurts the plate. You can use a hairdryer on cool (no heat) or just wave some thick cardboard or have a fan handy 😊
@@robinsutton4952 thank you! My Oncologist is using a Hormone Blocker on my Breast Cancer. It’s a tumor that feeds on female hormones. My lump has shrunk quite a bit. I don’t see him again until December (so 3 months). Can’t wait to see what he thinks.
Hi Barbara! Just wanted to tell you that I've just finished your channel!! 😂😂 I found you and Luise over a year ago and watched random videos of stuff i was particularly interested in, then quickly decided to watch both from the beginning. So interesting to see your growth from the travellers notebooks you so loved, watching you get more grungy, patiently teaching us many techniques on making so many different journals, your journey into your new craft room, seeing your friendship with Luise blossom and so much more - right through to this amazihg video today!! What a journey for me too! I don't know how to thank you for all the pleasure, knowledge, distraction and peace you have given me. Thank you ❤❤❤ (I've not quite finished Luise's channel, but I will!! 😂 xx)
Frank is the only name I can see for him because he kind of looks like a monster but he's probably just looking for love. Great video. I keep putting off buying a Gelli plate because I am kind of intimidated by them, but you make it look like something maybe I can do.
Oh please don’t be intimidated - they are soooo much fun! The only thing you will be intimidated by is the piles of colourful paper prints you’ll have from playing! Just make sure if you do get one, that you figure out which of your paints are transparent & which ones are opaque, as that will obviously affect how your prints work out. But you will figure it out & there are heaps of Gelli plate artists with videos & FB pages dedicated to Gelli printing to help. And remember the only real rule of Gelli printing - if you don’t like the print it just needs more layers!!! 💕 And… don’t use a heat gun like Barbara did - use a hairdryer on cool or just wave some thick cardboard above it to dry it. And make sure your layer is thin enough to see through it - like Barbara IS doing. But if you have your layer too thick, you can either roll it off onto scrap paper (a phone book, magazine or old book is great for that - and makes more collage fodder), or just put a piece of paper down briefly, then lift it off & use another piece to actually pull your print. Great way to get grungey layers
Very good video. You ended up with some really good prints. It’s nice to have videos that show problems or mistakes being made because we sometimes; learn more from seeing that and learn how to correct those problems. By the end of your video, you discover what some of those mistakes might be. You learn and we learn from watching it as well 👍🌷Thank you.
Great stamps! I've been told that a little baby or mineral oil wiped gently on the plate will help it be moist so your papers come off without a hitch. Nix the heat tool, like you said. Super video!
I use a small handheld rechargeable fan when I gelli plate, it makes the dry time between layers much faster. I got one for under $10 on Amazon. Loving your prints. Blessings.
They’re called chalk markers, because they’re for writing on a blackboard, e.g. restaurants, bars write on them and put them on their boards outside to attract customers. They look like chalk on a blackboard but don’t wash off in the rain. And that’s why they’re not opaque, because they’re chalk! It says so on the ‘tin’. 😊
I just wanted to mention that most "Chalk Markers" I have seen actually do move or reactivate when any thing wet is used ( or rain )!!... As apposed to Paint Marker like Posca that when dry they are perminant. Or stay in place on the gel paint untill they are pulled up like reg paint.
You should create a live event called "fun time with Barbra" and all it would be is people coming to hang out with you to craft. i would 100% fly in from the United States for that!
FYI using heat does make the paint dry too firmly to the gell plate, using a hair dryer on cool is better if you are in a hurry and you ay need to condition your plate with baby oil. Periodically, you need to apply oil and let it sit overnight to absorb it. The 1st print may have oil so just do a test print to start. Love all the fun stamps and you got some amazing prints, love the big rings!💕🇨🇦
Love everything!! Something I learned from P and M is that once in a while when your plate gets dry the paper starts to stick and you just need to rub it down with food grade mineral oil and let it soak in over night and it will be good to go again! Also I got a little mini fan that I put next to the plate to help each layer dry faster!
What a treat .,having you do some Gelli printing again. Your creations are really nice…Now want to see how you include them in a journal…Looking forward to some more of this..Thanks for the inspiration.
Love the gelli plate and the layers that build the beauty! It helps to prevent tearing to first lift all the edges of the paper before you pull it off💖🍀
So fun to watch your gelli print video’s! I played also last week with some leafs and I also had some sticking on the plate. I read in the comments here that it’s maybe because the layers are not completely dry. Next time I will try to wait longer and that’s why I love this community…we always learn from eachother. Big hugs Maia
I believe that they are called chalk markers because they are designed to be used on chalk boards and they wash off without damaging the chalk board (theoretically)
Thank you for sharing your gelli-plate session. It was so enjoyable from start to finish… I’ve been wanting to do something with paints because I have been doing so much collage and this is the perfect option! Thanks again and have a great day! 🙂

So cute. I love all your pattern. I love scraps too I use it for my journal.😍😍 Thanks I'm new to this hobby so I'm using cheap paint to practice and that paint is taking forever to dry 😂 yours is too quick.
Hey Barbara. Love your Gelli plate playing! And love love love the new stamps & stencils! You shouldn’t use a heat gun on your plate though, as it hurts the plate 😫 and can cause paper to stick & tear as you found. Use a hairdryer on cool (no heat) or just wave a thick piece of cardboard above it to dry it. Or just work with a fan nearby & it will dry very quickly 😊 Before you put your Gelli plate away, give it a bath in baby oil or mineral oil to help recondition it - just pour a nice slurpy layer on top & leave it overnight to soak in. It’s a good way to clean your plate too - use baby oil & paper towel
I recently put a plate on my Christmas list ! Oh cool refillable paint thingies, great for glue too I imagine. The petrol is gorgeous 😍. Oh cool stamps 😎 so chunky. I would have panicked when it dried out 🙈. Oh huge difference air drying, I wonder if the gel itself was drying out. I will get there eventually lol. Tfs and have a great day 💖💖💖

Barrons are the best for Gelli printing I think! I bought a cheapie & love it for getting up layered prints 😊
