Thank you for your videos. I watched all of your Fiddlerman videos and it was a great help in selecting a violin for my daughter. She is a beginner, but in need of moving up from the "starter" rental violin as she is moving into a 3/4.
I received an Artist this week and I do agree with everything you said. The tone IS very rich and deep (I also made request for them to send me that type, anyway). The action compared to my Cecilio-CVN500 is lower and thus WAY better. I love all the accessories and I can't wait to experience playing it in the future years!
Hi! Greatings from Sweden...I`ve only just started as an adult beginner but really love playing the violin and plan on going the distance without aiming for a place in an orchestra. I`ve bought a Gewa Allegro set for about 480$ and have already been feeling like it`s not going to be a violin that i will want to be playing on for too long. I know I`m really at the beginning but i wonder if the Fiddlerman Artist or any other violin that`s actually for intermidiate players could be something for me despite just starting out. I know i won`t get as much as someone who is further along but can it help me improve anyway since the quality, sound and built is so much better. I`ve also looked at the Stentor Arcadia, Frans Sandner black lady and the Hidersine violins. I really like a rich, warm sound but without to much compromise on clarity. Any advice? Since the custom fees are a prbolem when shipping fron the US i`m looking for someone Europe based but not sure if Thomann, which is where these violins are, is the place to go for a violin. I hope for an answer even though it`s been a long time since the video.
For anyone interested, I just worked out the additional cost of shipping one to the UK. You'd be looking at paying 20% VAT on the cost of the instrument including the shipping cost, plus 3.2% import duty. The courier may also levy a charge for dealing with this.
Thank you for teaching me everything what has to do with violins. I have a question. Could you please clarify this? You often say "you will eventually need to upgrade your violin". I assume one must upgrade as they improve as a player over time. But I mainly ask this regarding Fiddlerman violins. Will these violins not diminish with their quality over time like cheap violins such as the Cecilio's? I always thought that violins improve their sound the more you play it.
Ok well if your starting out with say a more student violin ($250 for example), then that will last you for a good few years, but as you start to get really skilled, you’ll just find the violin won’t cut it. This would be true of any student level violin around this price point. Fiddlerman, Cecilio etc etc. same applies pretty. These are a must for beginners however as they will not hinder your learning like the really cheap ones do. You’ll know that it is YOU who needs to improve - and not that the violin is holding you back in any way. However… if you go straight in with a much higher end violin say, closer to the $1,000 mark, then that will do you until the end of time (you know what i mean lol)… or, until you just feel you want a different flavour. I should add that the FM violins are good ones to start with and will last you a good old while - and you’ll just ‘know’ when it’s time to upgrade. The Cecilios for example are not as good at the same price point as they are manufactured on a larger scale compared to the FM violins that have been individually tailored and hand checked etc etc. They are more thought out (even their student ones) as that’s their mo. Hope that answers your question?
Hiiiii. I love love this violin. But i fell in love with another one that is electric. I think i will be doing those instead. I believe is friddleman concert deluxe. 2 issues with that. It is almost $ 1,600 and i am a beginner. Not only that: i am left handed. Would you recommend this violin for me or any others for a left handed person? By the way i will be learning from you. Thanks for the new violin reviews. I think this one could be a great upgrade for me. My actual violin is the Mendini MV300 which you've reviewed before (the $67 violin).

Hello! I started following you two years ago when I learned violin and I absolutely love everything you do and you are so honest and sweet explaining everything, so reliable. I had a question I need to ask you: Cecilio CVN700 or Fiddlerman Artist Violin ??? I'm planning on upgrading but don't know what to do. Thanks a lot!!!♥
It would have been really cool if they gave you the Fiddlerman Concert Deluxe Violin to review just to see how it could compare to the Fiddlerman Concert Violin and Fiddlerman Artist Violin. So far all I know is that the Concert Deluxe has more features than the Concert.
i would like to know wich one would you recomend soundwise, this one or the cecilio cvn 700, wich would you say has a more velvety, rich and deeper sound, cause i'm between those two and would love to know your opinion :D thank you Alison, lots of love !!!
Dont bother with Cecilio violins. I reviewed them all way back in about 2014 and there are a lot better violins on the market now. Cecilios are mass factory produced with very little bespoke set up - which you would absolutely expect for a violin such as the 700. I would go for something like the Fiddlerman violins any day now as they are much better made, thought out and set up.

Since I'm mostly playing in my flat, I tend to be respectful of my neighbours, so I'm kinda hesitating. 2) When you did this review, the retail price was $589, now it is $664, do you know why it increased ? Better quality, sound ? Thank you in advance for your answers ! Keep posting content, I really like it !
1. the Concert is by FAR the loudest and I would only recommend that one if you like the sound/tone of it or, are looking for some more 'standout' and solo. The Artist in my opinion is the best of the lot as its excellent in tone and playability for the price, so I feel you get the most. That, or the Master if your budget can go that high. 2. Im afraid I don't know. I would drop the Fiddlerman a quick email and mention the price increase from my video (just so he knows) and ask. He may just say inflation which is perfectly normal for business, or he may say that its had an upgrade - personally, I don't know the answer to that. 3. you're welcome! :)
@@TheOnlineViolinTutor Well, to be fairly honest it is not about the cost but more about my own level.
