Environmental Seagal from the 90s returns with Fire Down Below. Though his body is slimmer, his ego is as inflated as ever. Needlessly long and boring, this one was a bit of a chore to finish. The surrounding cast was great, though.

To be fair, Uncle Billy destroyed the south to save it.
Not sufficiently, unfortunately.
you didn't even take a bite lol
What? I'm literally eating it.
surprised we didn't get a pearl necklace joke. thanks for the video as always, cheers
Yes, it’s Randy Travis

There's no better environmentalist than Seafood Seagal... A man who walks with air of confidence by destroying mother nature... Respect 😂
He's truly a brilliant man.
@@JasonBrant A Good Man, you might say

Gurthing
Something that is rarely seen in this day and age.
I actually have some actual Seagal-A-Verse meta facts about the making of this movie. I hope you guys see this because it pertains DIRECTLY to Seagal and some of his real world character traits/dirtbag moves. A little back story: my family owns the radio station in Hazard Ky, its call signs are WKIC/WSGS, so when Seagal was filming this in and around Hazard in the 90's people would call in or run into my Uncle who runs the station and tell him about run-ins with Seagal lmao.
One of the more colorful stories was that Seagal saw a guy selling hand made birdhouses and other woodworking on KY-15, the major highway in and out of Perry County. The old guy said Seagal walked up and had a roll of cash, was acting like a big shot, and got annoyed that the old fella didn't know who he was. He even asked "You know who I am?" Several times, and finally the old guy said "Son I don't know who you are, but if you tell me your Pappy or your Grandpappys name I might know them." This apparently enraged Seagal and he stormed off. There are several more stories of bizarre and hysterical Seagal behavior, one of them in a Woolworths store as well.
Sorry for the long post, but I thought you'd appreciate this lmao
I could listen to Segall stories all day
Came here to tell this same story. Heard the same thing from several friends from Perry County/Hazard. He was apparently just SUCH a huge tool the whole time he was there.
@@tylercartwright I know theres another story where he went into Dawahares and pissed everyone off, I don't think they're still in business but that store was there forever. I'll ask my Uncle if he remembers any more Seagal stories lol
I need more Seagal stories! Love these. Thanks!
@@JasonBrant My cousins introduced me to Cannon movies, we all grew up watching American Ninja, Cyborg... Gymkata.... I showed them your channel and we are all on board. The whole cast is great, I keep wondering if you all can squeeze a 4th recliner in there for a mega viewing with Erin, Dave, Brian and yourself. Shameless ask: Blood Fist, starring Don "The Dragon" Wilson, I had to try! Lol Thank you all, I'm drinking right along with you!
When I was a kid I decided to model my life after Seagal. Many years later, here i am, fat, oddly southern and will literally do anything for cash or doughnuts.

how many women have you S.A ? Are the women afraid of you when they see you ? If you dont have that reputation, you best get working on it.
Have you bragged about your secret CIA missions yet?
@@Smokrthose CIA missions were made up lies because Sifu is a humble man. I know for a fact he was really part of a joint global task force with the DEA, FBI, MI-5, MI-6, NSA, NATO, USMC, KRISPY KREME (covert missions division), SEAL Team 6, MEAL Team 6, FSB and the PTA. Everyone wanted to work with him.
It's not your guys' faults for all the verbal mistakes. You have to realize that as soon as you starting watching a Seagal movie, your IQs dropped at least 50 points, AT LEAST. You can't be responsible for the kind of power a Seagal movie has on the human mind.
Fair point.
100% lol
The 80s & 90s was the best time for Steven Seagal movies, they were still entertaining.
I retain after Half Past Dead, he'd fully given up and went down the rabbit hole of just terribleness
That's a low bar.

It is so sweet how hard Erin laughs at Jason's jokes even after so many years as a couple, Jason you Lucky S.O.B.!
When the cashier politely told him he should come back to visit and he said "I'm gonna do that. Two beautiful twins like you..." Those were the words that marked the transition of "Action Hero Seagal" to "Stranger Danger Creepers Seagal".
Stranger danger 😂

LEVON! RIP... the guy who "welcomes him to kentucky" is Levon Helm. He was the drummer/one of the vocalists or The Band. absolute legend.
Hell ye, also Kris Kristofferson as the bad guy lmao. Marty Stuart was in it as well as the lead singer/guitar player, and then Randy Travis lmao. Why so many musicians 😂
I was just about to mention this!
Great drummer and great songwriter! The Band's most important weapon along with Robbie Robertson
RIP Levon Helm
You know it's a good one when the first thing we hear is "sigh" from Jason lol
Always a good sign.
Awesome! The old farmer is Harry Dean Stanton, amazing actor. Y'all had me cracking up so much, thank you!!!!

@@scampydog2318 Stanton also played in Alien, Lang played in Avatar... overall they might have never been superstars, but they still have had better movies in their career than Seagul...😅
@@JasonBrant He played Brett in Alien, one of the ship mechanics. And his best role ever, IMHO, was Bud in Repo Man.
Red Dawn, the original, he was the dad…”avenge me boys!”
When Jason opined that "So maybe it won't be gawdawful?", I snorted water out my nose. One of the many Seagal movies I've only watched once. Another in the "I must save the environment by blowing it up" genre of his. \
I odn't know what I was thinking.
The best part about these stephen seagal movies is the intro you guys made for them.

Fire Down Below was when I didn’t move forward with any further Segal movies. Though I did watch Exit Wounds recently and was pleasantly surprised. You’ve spared me from seeing the bulk of post Fire Down Below Segal in it’s entirety. Thank you for your sacrifice.
It's best if you don't watch anything past 'Exit Wounds'.
I enjoyed 'Pistol Whipped' in 2008, but that's my sole standout during his decline period.
Exit Wounds is the beginning of fat Seagal
@@pa.encema2821 He actually lost a bunch of weight to star in it. 30+ lbs, I believe. Producers also had him change his hair style and wardrobe. He took a big pay cut too. His stock was down obviously.
DMX claims Seagal wore a corset in Exit Wounds. He was obviously thinner but not as much as you think.
@@surferdudetje interesting! Didn't know that.
I wish DMX's part was better ... like he should have been an ex cop / internal affairs like the trailer made it seem like.
In order to prepare for his role as a horrible person, Stephen Lang watched every one of Sifu's movies so he could mimic the master
"I know what he's gonna eat"
That might be THE line of the entire Sifu series.

The singer at the party was Marty Stewart, the federal agent was randy Travis, and the private casino was Travis tritt. My grandparents love Marty Stewart.
The twins at the store are also country singers, their names escape me though.
Wonder why so many musicians were in this?
@@JasonBrant Country Music Seagal faze.

Thanks to you guys, I've developed the sensation of "Seagal Dread." I saw a handful of his movies as a kid, but seeing the newer ones, and going back and seeing the older ones as an adult, I better understand newer, truly deeper levels of pain one can experience during a bad movie. The scars are deep, and my psychiatrist will be making lots of money from me alone in the next several years.
Sorry for inflicting Seagal Dread.
"Did she watch any of his movies?" she was in the most famous one of em Erin🤣
I'm sure I'll make her watch that at some point.
@@JasonBrant i sustain myself on the annoyance of others so i consider that a great success.😁
Yes, that was Randy Travis and the person performing the bluegrass music was Marty Stewart , another country star. The other country star you recognize towards the end was Travis Tritt. Him and Marty Stuart were on tour together about the time this movie was made.
4 country artists in this movie. Kris, Marty (lead singer when Sifu takes over playing guitar) Randy, and Travis. All really popular in their day. I haven't seen this movie in a long time, I forgot that they were all in it.
Under Siege 2: Dark Territory is the best Seagal movie. I'm also fond of Executive Decision which is technically a Kurt Russell movie that Seagal is in. I'm actually surprised he allowed his character to get killed off in that one.
The director killed off Seagal without him knowing, as apparently he was such a pain on set 😅
Actually his best?
Under Siege 2 is awesome, no BS just solid action.
I also like Under Siege 2 more than the original as well. The score is also super fucking epic.
I watched this when it first came out. I believe this was when I severely slowed down on watching Segal movies. Always enjoy your videos!

Omg, can we all just have a moment of silence for Marg Helgenberger having to be in this pile? Then we can all breathe a sigh of relief that she ended up moving on to much better things.
The worst crime scene she's had to endure on-screen will always be receiving that "lonely with the bees" line
This was the first Segal movie I ever seen in my teenage years and I found it so cool because of the aikido stuff, I almost started to train aikido.
And answering the question: Which industry uses so much cyanide: gold mining for example. And yes there are disasters sometimes if the cyanide gets out.
It cracks me up that he probably had available resources and money to get into shape. Yet spent the money on strange looking long coats to cover up his gut and flabby body.
Seagal logic.
@Jason Brant: Stephen Lang also played a good guy in Public Enemies (2009), he was one of the F.B.I. agents working with Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale) to take down John Dillinger (Johnny Depp). He had previously worked with director Michael Mann on the tv series Crime Story (1986-1988) and the movie Manhunter (1986).

I've been hoping that you guys would do this one. Hopefully The Patriot is on the horizon since that one has Sifu playing a doctor with a Messiah complex.
Yes, the Patriot also features Sifu Rinpoche Seagal feeding a fawn with his hands lol
The fact he directed that pile is funny too.
We'll definitely watch that.
He didn’t direct The Patriot
This movie had an estimated budget of $60 million but only made back $16 million at box office.
Also those twins that Seagal was "hitting on" were country singer Loretta Lynns daughters.
With Randy Travis and other cameos I wonder how they got into that mess?
@@floydlooney6837 I'm guessing Seagals previous successes were able to bring on the bigger stars. Seagal was being pushed back then as the next big action hero but then he just fuzzled out.

This is the inflection point at which Steven seagal began the inexorable slide into unadulterated awfulness. You can tell by the fact that he obviously replaced stunt partners with dummies in the fight scenes and began putting out direct-to-video work within a year or two in parallel with cinematic releases.
He didn't bother to learn some of his lines, it seems. He definitely stopped giving a shit.
Seagal considers fire down below one of his finest works haha.
This movie has one of the best insults that I use to this day, when seagull tells the bad guys son if your father knew how stupid you are he'd trade you for a pet monkey.
I just realized Harry Heck the singing hit man from the punisher was one of the bad guys.
Harry Heck was in this?!? Huh, I missed him.

Jason saying “How many leather jackets does he own?!” sounds like a line from an episode of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”😂
This was one of his movies that I actually enjoy. I think this and Exit Wounds were his last decent films before his career just went to complete crap and he started doing those straight to DVD type films.
I am not ashamed to say I really like this movie, the slower pace and good cast make it one of his better films.
My mother loves this movie.. I guess because of the cast and she always liked Randy Travis..

There were a couple of other country singers missed in plain sight, played by Levon Helm had a strong music career. His acting career was good. He's been in a lot of good movies. The one I remember him most from was the classic 1983 movie The Right Stuff, about the beginnings of the Space Race and the Original Mercury Seven astronauts. Levon played the Air Force engineer who was the friend of Chuck Yeager. The engineer was an actual Air Force officer and friend of Chuck Yeager. was He died of throat cancer in 2012.
The other singer, Mark Collie. He was one of the main bad guys, the one that had the mustache and didn't beatdown as badly by Seagal as the other ones. He's had a good music career too. He's also been in several movies; The 2004 The Punisher reboot and...what for it...another Steven Seagal movie-Kill Switch.
Kelly Le Brock...she was definitely one the IT models back in the day. It's funny because there is a story Frank Dux has told that Kelly Le Brock's husband put a hit out on Steven Seagal because of them getting together, but Frank didn't carry it out and let Steven know. Is it true...who knows. Steven and Kelly had a daughter, Alyssa. She's a plus-size model and studies Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Alyssa has said that she has the looks of her mother but the body of her father. The Seagal side is tall and big/ Not big as in fat, big legs. I wish Alyssa had studied Aikido because I think she would've been as badass as her father, but she does well as a BJJ competitor.
Shooter is a fairly by-the-numbers movie but Levon Helm steals the whole thing in one scene--his last role, I believe.

I completely believe that they cut off the last word of the Segal line "I'm gonna snacth evey mfers birthday....cake"!
That was also travis tritt who is also a country music star in the 80s and 90s. You can see him right after seagal kicks the manager in the nuts for no reason. Obviously Travis Tritt is at the peak of his career having a spot in the great Sensei Seagal's movie...
Seagall probably wrote into his contract that no one is allowed to touch that pie and it needs to be waiting for him in his trailer when he's done shooting for the hour.
