As someone with EXTREMELY dry, eczema prone skin, I can confirm the Fenty fat water is a great product. I’m also extremely acne prone, and this did not make me break out. I also use the Naturium sunscreen and love it. It’s also sweat proof, I ran 7 miles in warm weather last week and it didn’t budge.
Oh my gosh, thank you so much for this review ninz! I have the same skin type and have been STRUGGLING with finding good products that don’t break me out or cause my eczema to flair up while also moisturizing my dry skin. My skin used to be so oily but as I’ve hit my mid 40s it’s gotten more and more dry. I’m gonna give these products a try. Thanks so much to Nikki as well for making this video! I just recently found your channel and your content is awesome!!
Thank you!! There's such a gap in info for extremely oily skin. I'm still extremely oily at 45, so controlling oil while trying to minimize the appearance of time is a real challenge. Always grateful for you content!

Super excited to try Fenty Fat Water! Sounds like exactly the thing I need for my dry, tired and textured skin. So many great tips in this video (as always). Very happy I found you!

I loved this video. I have such a hard time with my skin prep pilling. I have combo skin. Oily T-Zone and normal to dry cheeks and undereyes. This is going to help me so much. Hi Nikki! Wow, GREAT video for product recommendation and application for the beginner and a refresher for those of us who have been "making up" for years. Hope you are having a great day!🤗
I’m so happy you liked this video Cinzia!! And definitely a good reminder of what steps work well under makeup! Hope you are enjoying your Saturday so far!
I love you so much Nikki! I NEEDED this video. I was literally thinking to myself for the last few weeks that I needed advice with skin prep because it has been so difficult for me to figure out what works best underneath make-up due to the risk of pilling and separating. I have noted down all of your recommendations for dry skin, and I'm in the process of ordering the products. I hope they work just as well for me as they have for your clients. Your combo skin care prep helped me realize why makeup was not applying smoothly due to now knowing my skin care prep was the cause can you do a video on the best sunscreens for different skin types would be a big help thank you!
I watched your live and heard about your problems with posting this video. Your guide to Skin Prepping is a keeper, and should be a Masterclass to everyone, including experienced makeup artist. I was intrigued by the sunscreen you mentioned for normal skin, and I have ordered that! Hope you have a good week. ❤
Loved this video so much and I’ve come back to it almost every day to make sure I’ve got it right when I want to prep my skin! Thank you so much and I hope this video gets seen by a lot of people because this is genuinely a question we all have when it comes to prepping skin to our skin type ❤
This is gold!! 💛🌟 I wonder if you could do skin prep/ makeup application on each skin type?? I would love to see how you make it all work for dry etc. I struggle with doing my makeup it looks great then I go out in natural lighting it looks like it's sitting on top and not soaking in and it can be super embarrassing. It's always Russian roulette. I've been doing makeup forever but still struggling with this from time to time... I need a set routine, without fail that I can rely on. Your 100% correct, if I personally skip the skin prep it never ends well. Even if your crunched on time you've gatta prep. It's almost more important than the makeup if you want the makeup to even look good..... Then good lighting and a good mirror, I'm upgrading my set up any day now. That's another thing that will turn around to bite you later, when you literally cannot see when your putting the makeup on!! Again almost more important than the makeup of you want it to actually look good lol 😂😂. The struggle. 😅
I found you by accident a few days ago and let me start off by saying IM OBSESSED! I’ve learned so much in the last few days of watching your videos. I just turned 30 and I’m finally trying to take my skin care seriously, with that being said, please make a video on how you keep your skin flawless! I’m talking products, treatments, diet, etc. Help a girl out! 🩷🫶🏼
Nikki, After watching this video, I believe I have combination skin. I always thought my skin was dry but I do have a bit of oil a couple of hours after my makeup. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I’m 70 and thought I knew what I was doing!! Go’s to show you, your never to old to learn something new! God bless you and your handsome husband for all the work you both do to help us out to better ourselves. Sending my love✝️☮️
Thank you. I am new to the idea that I should put anything on my skin before foundation. I think I have normal skin, so now I know what sort of products I need.
I’m trying the ROUND LAB Birch Juice Moisturizing Sun Cream for reapplying protection during the day. It’s a gel like cream that just liquifies when it touches your hand, so it feels like I’m just “watering” my face when I apply it, so no danger of removing makeup. Plus it feels cool against the skin, such a relief when it’s hot. I’ve never had a sunscreen do all those things before, I’m floored. And a little obsessed lol.
Thank you so much for doing this. I have oily skin and my makeup has looked so much better after following the routine that you provided. The products suggested layer so well together. You are truly a gem!
This video is soooo helpful and so necessary! I had searched for skin prep videos like this but couldn’t find any. I’m SO happy you made one, and thank you for being so thorough in your explanations! ❤
I'm portuguese and i want to thank you because you help me a lot with my creases under the eyes just by suitching the cream for the eyes for a serum. All this time i was thinking that the problem is the concealer and it is not. I discoved that way that i love concealers that before i dont like.
I have glacially dry skin, and my go to for my second step is the Make Beauty Hydrascape Reverse Emulsion. My skin is very sensitive and mature, and I use either Cerave or Make Beauty products (along with Missha's Artemisia Essence) on my skin. I also use Canmake's Mermaid skin gel sunscreen (SPF 50/PA++++), and if I need a primer, I use the Hydrascape Reverse Emulsion for that as well.

I recently quit my job to take on being an aesthetician and a freelance makeup artist and I have found so much helpful info from all of your videos. I was wondering how you started out in makeup and tips for those just starting out? ❤ One thing in particular I’m curious about is how to build your resume/portfolio in this industry. How to show case your work for future clients etc. it would help SO much!
This was so wonderful for me to see today!!! I have been struggling with my makeup application, and now I am going to be sure to prep my skin properly!
Nikki, I hope you get this!!! I also use the Verse Moisturizer for oily skin in the Winter. I have the Summer Moisturizer, Its A Beauty by Joseon Red Bean Gel. Peptide loaded and Red Bean for oil production. I've Also use K-beauty Sunscreens.
I came here excited to see what products you like for dry skin hoping to find some new stuff to use under my makeup but it turns out I already use them all 😂 still it’s so great that you make guides for all skin types, I see so many people making guides but they don’t say what type of skin it works for ❤
Hi I am a new subbie. Love you all the way from the Caribbean. Your content and quality of your videos are well received. You brought back the makeup community. 6:58 *Pilling* occurs when you layer oil on water or vice versa. If you don't want pilling, you need to layer products that are formulated with the same primary ingredient.
This was insanely helpful; thank you for sharing your expertise with us! I feel like this is great advice even for people who don't wear makeup - my husband has horribly dry skin and I'm definitely going to pick up some of the Fenty fat water to have him try under his moisturizer! And I really appreciate your including combo skin. That's something I struggle with and I'm definitely going to try out all of your tips. 🥰
Super helpful 👍🏼 Can’t go w/out that MILK hydro grip setting spray. And I spray it after my skincare before I go in w/ the wet products and before I apply my powders. Giving it a chance to dry in between layers. Great video Nikki 💛
Love this for my plain old normal skin. Thank you for doing all these videos! I spend every day watching your videos & some on repeat! You are just amazing. A beautiful soul & I love your overall vibe. I relate except for being a pro! I've been winging it my whole life & I'm 55! Not anymore, I've bought everything & I'm following along. Thank you for this video--very important to understand how to best prep the skin. Suggestion--try the elf hydrating lip mask. I prefer it to the Laneige and it's really cost effective.
Thank you, Nikki, for these recommendations. I greatly appreciate the information provided in this video. I've been out of the makeup artistry profession for a bit but always like to stay on top of things in case I find myself freelancing again. 😊👍
I have combo skin and love so many of the Naturium products! I haven’t tried the SPF yet because sounds too hydrating … I love the La Roche Pose, Tula or Super Goop
Hi Nikki, great video, I have learnt so much! It would be great if you can do a video on how to apply make up all the way to the end for each skin type. For example, what brand products would be most suitable for what skin type (foundations, cream based/oil based products) all the way to finishing with a powder. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this video! It's so helpful! Can you do a full video, top to bottom on a waterproof, cry proof bridal application? Maybe for normal skin type?
Thanks for the video ma'am. Please what is that one characteristics that one need to see on a person's facial skin that will help to point out the kind of skin type that person has be it dry, normal, oily or combination skin type? Thanks for your quick response. I love your teaching.

Hi. I started using the Naturium Multi Peptide moisturizer a few months ago because of you. I have combination skin and I love it. 😊
I have never heard of the Heimish Artless Glow Base and am so intrigued now! Thanks Nikki!
The checkered head band looks so cute on you 😍
Awww thank you!!
ELTA is my favorite. Really has helped out my skin. The whole line for me so far.
This was so wonderful for me to see today!!! I have been struggling with my makeup application, and now I am going to be sure to prep my skin properly!
Thank You so much for this one Nikki! Finally getting the proper information for my combination skin is just amazing!
Love the PC Youth Extending spf under makeup. I usually put the Elf Invisible spf 35 on top of it for a second, water resistant layer.
Wow, what an amazing makeup guru. So much knowledge actually giving us real good information. Absolutely amazing
I came here excited to see what products you like for dry skin hoping to find some new stuff to use under my makeup but it turns out I already use them all 😂 still it’s so great that you make guides for all skin types, I see so many people making guides but they don’t say what type of skin it works for ❤
I love the ULTIMATE guides 🥰
Yay!!! And me too!!!
Wow your skin is flawless! New subscriber here!
Hi I am a new subbie. Love you all the way from the Caribbean. Your content and quality of your videos are well received.
You brought back the makeup community. Reminds me of a better version of youtubers in 2012 and the reason
why we were inspired by makeup, the relevance & fun of it as well as the economic & entrepeneurial aspects of it.
Can't wait for you to hit 1 mil.
Thank you
6:58 *Pilling* occurs when you layer oil on water or vice versa. If you don't want pilling, you need to layer products that are formulated with the same primary ingredient.
Trying to step my skincare/makeup game up 😇😇 your vids help so much TY 💐
That’s a great one that I use in my Kit as well!!! Love that you use it in between steps, my kind of girl!!👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you so much for the very much needed information ❤
Great video - Great info Thanks!
I order Sephora every day since I started watching you a month ago!🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶
Love that SPF I bought 2 I use every day
Love this video! Product recc I just started for oily skin is Mac mattifying primer. Controls oil/shine without drying. Love it and actually wear it on its own in the t zone at work! Thanks for the recommendations!
You are my fav make up artist now
I should’ve seen this in the summer. I’m extremely oily. Huge fan Nikki! 🫶🏻
Hi Nikki, great video, I have learnt so much! It would be great if you can do a video on how to apply make up all the way to the end for each skin type. For example, what brand products would be most suitable for what skin type (foundations, cream based/oil based products) all the way to finishing with a powder. Thank you.
You have such gorgeous skin! ❤
Thank you Angela!
Thank you so much for this video! It's so helpful! Can you do a full video, top to bottom on a waterproof, cry proof bridal application? Maybe for normal skin type?
Hi Nikki what a great video. So helpfull. Thanks!
So happy to hear that Susan! Thank you for watching !
