Thank you for this video. I really enjoyed the aesthetic of your swatches and would love to see more of this content as I am all about the fun inks for fountain pens. ❤️🤗
When I first got into fountain pens, i was picking the brightest colour inks. Two years later and I am more drawn towards muted colours. I love all the colours you swatched in this, such a please combination. There are so many inks out there that are appealing, it's hard to admit you already have a a grey ink and should wait until that one runs out before getting a new one 😏 Loving your videos. Please keep them coming 😊
Hi Tanya, that is the plan, to wait until I use up the Lexington Gray to get a new one, but that fuyu syogun is such a beautiful one! What’s also beautiful is seeing how our ink and pen preferences change over time. Thanks for your comment!
Greatly enjoyed this. You’ve picked a color range I’ve experimented with. Fuyu-soygun is one of my first bottles of ink, and the Oster group are samples i also bought to try to find a favorite.
Hi, love your videos, especially the rounds you make with the tiny bowl. I am from India, though these inks are costly as per Indian money, I love them so much. Thank you for showing the varieties of Inka available in such a soothing way.
Thank you for doing these!! It's really nice to see someones first hand experience with inks. I think my favorites are Sailor Ink Studio 224 and Sydney Lavender. Of course this means I need more fountain pens :D
Your printing is so nice and consistent! I used a glass pen for swatch labels and it looked like I had used a huge kindergarten crayon :) Completely agree with your assessment of Lexington Gray. Very wet making my fine point nib look more like a medium or broad. Thank you for another enjoyable video!
the Sailor #252 is my favorite of these- adding it to my wishlist. Love purple inks. I just bought the new Shikiori (sailor) HaraHara and I can't wait to get it.
Your videos are a joy to watch. Thank you. I am envious of your ink sample holder. The wooden block. Did you make this or did you purchase it someplace? Would love to find one to hold the Goulet pen samples.
This is one of my favorite color categories. Another great lavender grey is Pure Pens Llanberis Slate. It's a beautiful grey with a lavender tinge. You have to order Pure Pens inks from Pure Pens in the UK, but their inks are beautiful and, last I looked, you don't have to buy a ton to get up to free shipping.
@@lianelikes I have more to try, but I also love Cwm Idwal, Cadwaladr, and Celtic Sea (a gorgeous blue). Flowers of Scotland is a beautiful bright purple. (Some of these are Welsh names, by the way.) Hope you can try some!
Diamine Earl Grey is an absolutely stunning purple-grey. I think Lexington is pretty with it's green undertones, but it's so darn wet and feathery that it's frustrating for me. I already had samples of Summer Storm and Sydney Lavender in my cart, but I think I'll add the Pilot too.
I think Jetpens' explanation is best, adding the link here! www.jetpens.com/blog/Intermediate-Guide-to-Fountain-Pen-Inks-Sheen-Shading-Shimmer-and-More/pt/113
I like this series a lot Kyo-iro soft snow is my favorite lavendar grey. I own RO Summer Storm, it’s more grey than lavender. I love Sydney Lavender here.
I must say the stainless steel cup thingy idea is beautiful. I see other people trying to swatch with their fingers or other things and it looks messy.
I love the way you do your ink swatches. I am a big fan of gray inks, and you have given me some to consider. I like Sydney Lavender. I've been looking for a gray that has a blue or purple tinge. Check out MB Cool Grey or Oyster Grey if you can find it, and a grey staple is Diamine Earl Grey.
Thanks, swatching inks is one of my fave things to do and glad that I get to share on YT. Your comments have me sold on getting a Montblanc ink. Now which one is going to be hard!
@@lianelikes What color is your fancy? I can speak to Oyster Grey, but that is out, and now there is Cool Grey. I don't know if it's just a name change or a formula change. I'm going to ask at the next MB digital calligraphy class. I also have Midnight Blue and Amethyst Purple. Oyster Grey makes my soul happy, M. Blue is just a color I am partial to, and I haven't yet cracked the bottle on A. Purple. Pens friends raved over Irish Green and Toffee Brown. Hope that helps, but it probably did not. :)
Because Oyster Grey is no longer, that is precisely the ink I want!!! I don’t typically go for green inks but I’ve heard good things about Irish Green.
@@lianelikes LOL. Oyster Grey had a sand color tinge to it, that made it interesting. Now what if I tell you that I hear Irish Green is on it's way out too. Would that make it more appealing?
I am so enjoying all of your video content, thank you for sharing! I love fountain pens and journaling and am really enjoying your ink swatching videos. Are you on IG? I would love to follow you there 😊
I bet if you wiped the bottom of that metal bowl with a wet paper towel some ink would come off which means you've probably contaminated those other swatches.
Thank you for this video. I really enjoyed the aesthetic of your swatches and would love to see more of this content as I am all about the fun inks for fountain pens. ❤️🤗
Hi Julia, thanks for your lovely feedback and yes, I’ve got more videos coming your way!
This comparison is exactly what I was looking for. Beautiful!
Glad it was helpful!
I love how you swatch your inks.
Thank you! 🥰
I loved this video, Liane! Makes me want to go through all of my inks and organize them by colour category!
Thanks, Karyna! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Love the creative way you do the swatches! Beautiful!
Thanks so much, Lynn!
I loved this video. My fav was Robert Oster Thunderstorm
Thanks! Thunderstorm is a gorgeous broody color, love it!
Genius and unique way of swatching!
Thanks so much!

Thanks, Michael! I think we have very similar ink tastes!
Loved this video. Love your swatch approach... i kind of need sydney lavender in my life now
Thanks, Hannah :). I know, it's a beautiful color!
I love these greys- I have several of them- one of my favourite colour categories- thx!
Glad you like them! I loved the swatches of these greys too!

I love your circular swatches. I wonder if I could pull that off?
Totally! Super easy to swatch with!
the Sailor #252 is my favorite of these- adding it to my wishlist. Love purple inks. I just bought the new Shikiori (sailor) HaraHara and I can't wait to get it.
Just googled HaraHara and it is a lovely ink! I love that hue of purple…

Thanks for your comment! I got it on Etsy by DesignKOUS. I love the holder, it's been a constant companion of mine.
The Sydney Lavender is calling me!
Yes, it's gorgeous!!!
Love the Sailor inks! So beautiful! 💖 What kind of glass dip pen are you using?

Kyo-iro soft snow is my favorite lavendar grey. I own RO Summer Storm, it’s more grey than lavender. I love Sydney Lavender here.
Thanks, Giulietta! I've never tried a Kyo-iro ink, will have to give that ink a try because it is gorgeous!
Is your water in a Bonne Maman preserves jar? I use those jars for the same purpose!
Yes it is! I love these jam jars!
Where did you get the stainless steel cup?
I got it on Amazon, they're stainless steel condiment cups with silicone lids!
I must say the stainless steel cup thingy idea is beautiful. I see other people trying to swatch with their fingers or other things and it looks messy.
Hi, thanks for the encouragement! If you have a cup, you must try it. 💜
