SWTOR is 8 seperate Bioware RPG's that all happen to take place on the same planets, with the same side quests but different main quests.
I wish Bioware RPG meant something good. They haven't made a good game since I was in high school. I'm 29.
@@trompell0Bioware RPG is less of a good/bad thing, and more of a formula. Companions with 3 or 4 stages of sidequest, one large area hub with several smaller self contained ones, many minor choices with 1 or 2 major ones per area/act. It's more about how they execute on the formula, which lately they've not been doing well :(
SWTOR's character origins are the last breath of Bioware before EA's boot came down hard and we got Mass Effect 3, and Dragon Age Inquisition. Also probably as close as we'll get to KotOR 3...
If only EA didn't ruin the ftp experience
@@yourguysheppy honestly i like inquisition better than origins probably becaue of 2 main things : longer and dragons
SWTOR really deserve more love. Storylines are just amazing - I hope they just don't let it die.
Ludicrous speed. Josh is a confirmed Spaceballs fan.
Josh seems to share exactly my same excitement for roleplaying to the total extreme, when he chooses to go to the front of the ship to fly to places. I've been doing the same in Starfield, changing into a flightsuit to fly places, etc. It takes way longer and is totally pointless to do but it just makes me enjoy the game a whole lot more and i love that he does this too so i dont feel *quite* as totally crazy
The fun thing back when I played SW:TOR was that the interactions had in-engine animations, so if your particular interaction caused your companion to lose respect for you, you could just press ESC to cancel the interaction and redo it with a different choice instead.
Another funny thing was that one of the two Jedi storylines involved collecting components and craft your first lightsaber in the temple, and then one of the first missions after involves a young girl asking you to rescue her brother and as a reward she just hands you one that is better than the one you made.
now you go off the starting planet, do the Eseles or black talon flashpoint on your way to next planet and you very often drop one in that flashpoint
super glad SWTOR has the josh seal of approval its a dope game
My favorite gameplay I've ever had in SWTOR was going through the Trooper story with the Operative class mechanics. It was SO much fun.
I'd say all of the classes up to level 20 is really great.
Imperial Agent has the best story in swtor, you really felt like a secret agent spy
Imperial Agent was the point in SWTOR where I first fell in love with the game. I wish 7.0 had been more than it was, I'd probably still be subbed.
Honestly man your opinions are pretty spot on and you shoot it straight with facts so keep it up, the roleplaying in SWTOR has always been lovely and thanks for sharing your journey with us :)
I loved watching this stream and honestly it's made me consider downloading and playing it myself. That being said I had such a huge grin on my face when he brought out his perfectly painted minis with different shoulder pad colors omg.
Honestly it's just shocking that Disney haven't realised they own this yet. Probably why it still exists.
Cause of a Deal made with Lucas, that contract still stands, even if Disney bought the IP. However, we don't know how long that Contract lasts for, and if it needs to be Renewed. And if it does need to be renewed, we don't know what happens if Disney says no. Most likely, just no new expansions, and the game finally hits an 'End' point in content and probably can only work on maintances and fixes.
As soon as disney touching this it will shut down or be filled with Disney garbage.
Oh God I love the random dance party so much! I really need to give this a good go and get lost in Swtor. Played for hours having no clue what was going on but enjoying myself years ago. Been craving it.
39:45 Josh just described SWTOR, ESO and even LOTRO or at least the way theyre meant to be played
I played this game back when it was launched, the agent was hands down the best main story. Some are better then others, I remember the Jedi Guardian being very generic and boring.
But a lot of the side quests that everyone gets are good too, seeing Taris again from the Kotor games was neat.
I was a fan of the on rails space shooter parts that you could do with your ship, you could even upgrade the ships power to handle the hard mode versions. I really wish they had expanded that part of the game, but I don't think anyone played or honestly even knew about it for the most part. And later they launched the PvP space shooter version that was dead after a couple of months.
Had some good times playing SWTOR at release, had a nice raiding guild on Red Eclipse. Smuggler healer was good fun.
Josh is the ULTIMATE lfr raider....let everyone else do the work, I'm just making content 😆
I checked out the game again after your video and was suprised that the battery in the security token device from the 2011 Collectors Edition still worked. Apparently it also created cash shop currency every single month since back then. 😅
The 15 year old game that gave 15 full years of Star Wars fun. 🎉
Loved SWTOR, LS Sith is basically a British Empire sim and thinking about it still makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
Also Darth Imperius sounds cooler than Darth Nox
The SWTOR community can be really great. I met someone who was having a VERY difficult time. He was pretty much just... done. I puled him aside, talked for a few hours with him. And he decided to give me the Gladiator outfit (Platinum Cash Shop item. VERY expensive when it was released) And I just kept mailing it back. After about a week of mail ping-pong I finally gave up and accepted it.
A party hat on rs3 is like 2000 patreon subs. What a nice guy
Love the painted figures!!
SWTOR is a a great game. More people just need to try it.
Just got an ad cut right when you jumped into the sand butt
My favorit Imperial Agent run was morally grey. Do Dark Side things if it harms the Republic. Do Light Side things if it helps Imperial citizens.
I'm glad he makes the same joke in this one where he implicates us for being dirty minded.
Is there a way I could get a link to the full VOD?
This is the full vod.
I don't think I ever got it working, but I definitely picked up a CD-ROM of Z at a flea market way back. I did at one point play the sequel, but I don't really remember what it was like to play...
swtor is so amazing has 8 GREAT stories before you hit the huttcartel a pair of mediocre but interesting stories and then the awesome revan story followed by the in depth eternal throne saga
This video made me realize we need a Was It Good Star Wars Shadow of The Empire. The N64 classic
I'd like to see Star Wars Galaxies revamped and relaunched on Steam tbh
did you know this happened an even farther than a far far away galaxy?
The IA ship is unironically the coolest one in the entire game, and it makes complete sense that the Agent gets it. If the Sith/Jedi got it it just wouldn't fit. Even the inside is so very high-tech-looking compared to the others. "Badass" doesn't actually cover it.
I'm only watching this stream rn as a minor stopgap of TOR[not played in like 3 years], since I've heard that most of the challenge, choice and agency of the game has been whittled down to a level on par with live Warcraft, which I hate and can only stand classic.
Right now I could redownload this and play it yet I always had more fun as a subscriber so I don't really want to pay that tenner for something that has probably mechanically changed beyond recognition.
Which is a shame cos this game was awesome around the time I started playing it on the advice of an IRL mate.
God I love SWTOR and JSH
Love this guy
This game had me when it was still a sub.., unfortunately, they lost me when purchasing the game and being subbed didn't really give anything back after becoming Free To play.... I hope you enjoyed it!
being able to equip purple gear 😅
Your character looks like Venjent
My favorite MMO. I love that it can be played solo, that my PC is voiced and you get romance options. Lotta fun. I would play this game even if it was offline. I actually hope if they ever shut it down one day that they give us an offline mode to download. I'd buy it.
It would cost as much as the SIMS with all the dlc
playing KOTOR also would be cool :D
Love swtor ❤
SWTOR is an RPGMMO
like FF14...they are probably the top 2 in that category
I'm still salty about Kotor 3
Upvote if your parner ever made a character in game in order to talk to you as you can't pay attention to two things at once.
The Rep' Side of the Story is always kinda.. Ehhhh. The Imps are way more fun, imo.
yay being the bad guy is so edgy....i grew out of it around 13 or 14 yo tho ^^
@@kokocaptainqc The Imp Side has you actually engaged in their Stories.
The dude didn't even open the game settings to enable more skillbars, he's missing a lot of skills that he's not seeing for not having more bars enabled; He has ZERO idea of what he's doing, how can I trust anything he says about this game or games in general? When he fails at the very basic of an MMO that is customize the UI.
I've completely gave up on React content. It's lazy and uncreative. Those people are not worth my time.
Decent game ..RIDICULOUS monetization.
