Wanna know something wild that just happened while i was listening to this cover?? I coincidentally decided to randomly shiny hunt for a Ponyta in Pokemon **Sword and Shield.** And after only minutes after booting the game up, i found a shiny Shiinotic instead. The cover got to the really dramatic part near the end, when i thought i might accidentally kill the shiny and lose him before he could be caught! But on the last chorus, he was captured!!!!! Wtf why was this so thematically appropriate!!! There's a strange power emanating from this video that made this happen, i know it 👀

I’m adding this to two of my d&d characters playlists, I now have two versions of the same song. Both covers and I love them both. To me this version shows, in both characters respectively, their acceptance to their situations. It’s more soft tuned and melodic rather than rough and chaotically loud like the drumming sounds of war.

Part of what makes this a great song for me is that it’s actually a great take on a historical figure. I was really surprised to hear a song about the French Revolution gaining such popularity. And this is a wonderful cover!

This plays out like either a wealthy corrupt noble who lost everything and is realizing the error of their ways OR a supervillain who's life got reset somehow and now they have the chance to relive their life with the knowledge of the future so they can make better choices.

This year, in December, we had a school choir and we had this song in it, and my favorite teacher was there when we sang it, she was so shocked and happy, she sadly missed the start because of a issue with another student, but she saw most of it, her expression made my day ❤

I was never a big fan of this song, but you gave those lyrics meaning and feeling behind them. To me, it sounds like someone who was at the top of the world for a time, but has hit rock bottom since, using the memory to pull themselves back up again.
You got it right, though the person it’s about didn’t exactly meet a good end. It’s sung from the perspective of King Louis 16th. It’s part of what makes this a really great dong
